I don't see it so much hard to make and use a macro, but there is no need for them to be in the game. Look at what some people do with macros, you can virtually master every single proffession without one ounce of human effort besides putting in the coding. I've seen people use hunting / healing / dancing / CRAFTING! It's dumbfounding how lazy people are. I even stated to everyone, do not put in your macros because I am not interested in them, although I thank the ones of you that did, there is no reason to try and tell me off about how macros are "fair". This is the only MMORPG game that I've seen that let's you use macros, in EQ they would ban you for something like this! The Devs may have installed the macro system all in thoughts of good means, but macro's should only be used up to a point. A friend of mine when I played on the Tarquinas server masterd Commando, and Taras Kasi by only touching his computer to move his toon, because his macros did all the work for him. You may think macro's are fine, because the Devs put them in. I don't, it's just two different opinions.

You're right, they are two different opinions, and you are certainly entitled to yours. I'm not here to tell you your opinion is wrong, but there is one other MMORPG (at least that I know of) that allows macroing, and that is UO. As long as it is ATK macroing and uses an approved program, they have no problem with it. =)
And just to present a slightly different perspective, while I agree with you that macros have been taken too far, as with everything else, it's the way they're used *by some people* that is the problem, not the macros themselves IMO. As for crafting, well... I personally think those are fine, and has nothing to do with lazyness... because I'm not into getting carpal tunnel syndrome from making hundreds of items manually @ god only knows how many clicks per item =)

While I don't agree with macroing for unattended play, I do think that macros play a role in the game. I use a macro to buff all 6 stats with a pause 15 in between. That's it. But the reason why I do it, is because I want to be able to sit there and interface with people. I like talking to the "patient" when I buff them. That makes it more interesting for me. And I have a large guild and guildchat is going almost constantly. So when I'm in-game I like to talk to them too. Why not make use of something that is approved and in no way infringes on someone else's game play.
I also use the "ChatColor" method and have all six stats and the word tip in color for extra protection.
NOTE: I'm not flaming here
I realize everyone is entittled to their own opinion, but I think it's going too far when sticking to that opinion causes your own game play to become too difficult or confusing. (it's a game not a job) Just think, if you had been using that one little macro, that does just that set of functions, you wouldn't have needed to post here. Instead, you would have been out buffing, talking to people and having fun.
Just my observations/opinions
