Thread: Little know but very important fact about rezing Jedi

The point of the post is that Jedi always have to give consent. Maybe that is because some Jedi can self-rez and may not want a doc in their group or on their consent list to do it for them.
and I am trying to telling you that that statement is not correct. I do not have to always give consent to get a rez. Maybe people in my group have rezzed me and I was not on my consent list.
That's fine, I was referring to those that missed the Jedi part and are just referring to rezzing people in their group without getting consent.

Most players know that to get a rez you need to (A) be grouped with said doc or (B) consent the doc using /consent. Always thought this was kind if funny how a corpse can consent to anything, you don’t see docs in real live standing over someone yelling “CONSENT, CONSENT, I CAN’T SAVE YOU UNLESS YOU TYPE /CONSENT”.
REZING JEDI:
Rezing Jedi is different that rezing normal players, Jedi must give the /consent command or a doc cannot rez him even if he/she is grouped with said doc. I do not think this is a bug because when trying to rez a Jedi that has not /consented me I get the message “your Jedi target must consented you” or something like that. I found out someone was a jedi this way one time this way, he had no robes, no light saber out, and no Jedi tag up, but when I tried to rez him I got “your Jedi target must consented you”. I do not know but suspect being rezed by a doc will add to your visibility on the terms. Remember before doing something that will put you in danger consent all the docs that you are with.

Im going to hijack this thread since I came to this forum looking for an answer on a related issue:
A guild jedi that I have rez'd in the past with no problem died a few days ago and when I tried to rez I recieved the must have consent from Jedi message. He consented me many times and still I was not able to rez. He ended up having to use his hero ring. Were we just bugged or is this a known problem?
The command is easy to type so I can't imagine it was a typing error. Looks like it was just buggy. I haven't had a problem rezing jedi, mine or anyone elses for that matter, nor have I seen anything on the boards about it. You might /bug it ingame tho....incase there is somthing that caused it beyond the usual gremlins.

I just want to say everything else was true, but this statement is incorrect. Equiping your saber does cause visiblity, tiggs posted this a while back, and it is in the FAQs acrhive.
Equiping and already having it equiped are two dif things...I was under the impression equiping it gives vis if its already equiped it will not give vis.
well I guess I was mistaken then, but what is the point of evening giving you visblity if your are equiping your saber.

You are correct. The act of equipping it causes visibility. Simply holding a saber in hand DOES NOT.

Well its not a bug, the problem that the person could be having is that his consent list was full. So it would not allow him to add anyone else to the list. View this by typing /consent. It will give you a list of all the people on that list. If you want to uncosent somone, type /unconsent <name> and this will free up space on your list so that you can give somone consent. If you type /uncosent, it will just bring up the list so you need to acutally type /uncosent <name> just like you need to type /cosent <name>.
We checked his consent list after the first failed attempt. There were 3 docs on there and I was one of them. I should of bugged it at the time, I will make sure to do so if it happens again. Good thing he had the hero ring.

I have been a Jedi since may 27, 2004
well, u werent on your jedi when u got the rez...
I agree with him that it isnt just a jedi issue. As you can see from an earlier example I gave, I have had this same problem with non-jedi as well in that they have to give consent. The point in this post however; isnt about is being just a jedi issue. It is about it giving visibility to get rezed. It does not.
and how do you know that he wasnt on his jedi? ![]()

how do you see the consent list?
/consent or is that too obvious Captain?
