people really need more mind pool..its way to easy for me to abuse it right now

its not...dots were left out of pvp damage reduction...


i do think that 75% damage reduction is a bit harsh...honestly its the mind damge issue at hand


if my poisons did 500 H or A there would be little outcry..but since i do it to mind...


i would settle for 1/3 to 1/2 the reduction in poisons for pvp either that or leave the power as it is, make Dots LOS and give doctors more effective cure packs to stop dots

SO, I posted this in another thread that sunk to the bottom, but...


I'm interested in taking doctor and taking Wound Treatment 2/Medicine Knowledge 3. If my calculations are correct, I should be able to use the highest level enhance packs.


How much would you guys sell them for, and would you be willing to sell them at all?


Also, I understand they require some crazy components. Any chance of them being made in factory crates?

it must be otherwise your argument is pointless since anyone who you fight can very well get buff themselves.


hey do you know if they made heaing wound self only too? that'd be nice!


I think best thing is if they made the rez self only as well, but oh well can't have everything

There are a few fatal flaws with the whole Doctor/Riflemen thing though, which leaves Pistoleer/BH dabbler/doctor a far better solo PvP class.



Problems with Doctor/Riflemen (assuming spec of: Master Riflemen, Master Medic, Master Doctor, Rifle/Support lines of Marksmen):



1.) No defense against knockdown. That's right, you have no + to defend against knockdown, AND you can be knocked down when you are prone (makes no sense, but that's how the game works)


2.) 3x damage from melee attacks. Throw that pistol knockdown in, and then walk up to the riflemen on his back (who gets 50% bonus damage from being knocked down), and pistol whip him. This will do 450% damage, which means that you will be doing MORE in PvP to a knocked down riflemen then you do to a monster... also the pistol whip keeps them down... and you don't have to terribly worry about the HAM cost if it's 1 on 1... because it won't take many hits at that kind of damage bonus to kill the riflemen.


3.) Rifle accuracy at short range. Anything under 30m you are screwed as a riflemen. So if you do a single knockdown and get up close then you can count on hearing the laser blasts hit everywhere but on you.


4.) Slow fire speed. This matters because you can't heal until you have an opening in your combat queue... if it takes you 3-4 seconds to fire that T21 (which is about on par for master riflemen), then you are going to get hit with pistol attacks 3-4 times before that heal you hit actually goes off, assuming one of those four shots isn't a knockdown.


5.) Mind pool drain. This is rough for a riflemen/doctor because BOTH skills take out your mind pool. You mindshot2 someone for 300 damage with your laser rifle and guess what... you just hit your own mind pool for about 100-120. Every time you heal yourself it is gonna cost you 60-80 mind. You can guess what happens before too long, that's right... you are out of mind! Which means that any normal shot (or an eye-shot) can put you in the dirt very easily.



Trust me... if you want a healing pimp to dish out unhealable damage 1-on-1 then you want this:


+Scout - master, +Marksmen - master, +BH - Pistol line, +88 points to split between medic and pistoleer (I suggest you get to the fourth box of all three lines of medic except the one to create the meds... just buy um).


This gives you enough for eyeshot, ranged knockdown, 3 different kinds of bleeds, melee knockdowns, better DPS than rifles, better damage choices than rifles, lower HAM costs than rifles, no melee penelty, bonus vs. knockdown depending on which pistoleer lines you take, a higher +accuracy and +speed than riflemen get, no studder step when running, you don't drain your own mind pool with both rifle AND medic, and you can actually hit things closer than 30m out.

this is nothing new folks ... doctors have been tanks in SWG since day 1.

Boy, I hope doctors are the new uber-fighter class. At least then we'll get 50,000 migrant PvPers drifting into doctor class and discovering ... hey! I can't make money this way!


If we do become the new best combat class, maybe that pay-for-heal oversight will get the attention it deserves. I couldn't afford to be a combat medic, anyway... use up all those valuable resources on people who won't pay me? Heaven forfend.
