Thread: Any Doctors successfully soloing without a pet?
1) A really nice set of resist sliced composite armor. Get the main pieces (chest, pants, boots, helmet) as high as possible. Several of my pieces are 77%, and I'm always working to get more pieces to around 80% resists.
2) A 60% resist or so helmet (or the best you can get, anyways), sliced really, really well for encumbrance.
3) Migrate your focus/willpower as high as possible, to mitigate the costs of healing especially when wearing a heavy set of composite.
With this setup, I don't have much of a problem soloing a lot of things on the outer planets. I switch to the lower encumbrance helmet if I really, really need to heal. But definitely, protecting your mind pool should be your top priority.
For the less wealthy doctors, a set of high kinetic resist ubese works very well for monster hunting. If it's encumbrance sliced, it can be quite a bit lighter than composite and you can get kinetic resists around 70% or so. Ubese doesn't work so well against NPC's since a lot of them don't do kinetic damage. High kinetic ubese also matches wonderfully with master TKA's and their toughness modifier.
The composite setup works extremely well for PvP too and makes CH pets pretty easy to kill, especially if you have a number of weapons that do different damage types.
But the nerf is coming that will make cowardly gurrecks and rock beetles a thing of the past, in addition to making CH less a dabbler profession.
I know. You dont have to jump on me. ![]()
I can usually do snorball missions without my pet also. But somtiems the bulls go aggro and I fetch my pet to keep him busy.
I have the same setup as Menoetiushas

Nothing on Dantooine causes me any problems - Have my PA hall/store located 15m out the Imp Outpost
Got it there before the changed the build zone to 550m away from the outpost.
Spend alot of time fighting Pikets ( By the way for those on Tarquinas the Herbivore on Dantooine is rather nice at moment forget stats tho ) Can take on 5-6 pikets no problem even the red ones forget their name Enraged or what ever. The Force people who have started appearing more recently are also soloable.
Went on a Explore run to Dathomir to see the Sister cave/camp and enjoyed fighting them ( solo yesand then with a group) didnt have much of a problem with single sisters but the duo can be rough if they are shooters as they do not want to stand still
Thanks KD!
Havent really found anything that can pose much of a problem solo but thats changed since the whole food/drink/buff problems introduced last month.
My normal setup is :
Food - Ryshcate
Drink - Ice Blaster
The above 2 cover my Focus and Willpower and get them over 1k ( have a Master Chef Friend )
Melee Power up - 30.14% Mind and err forget the % but the other stat is Max Range
Used that setup before the Musician/Dancer buffs came into the picture. We have a Master Muscian playing in the PA most of the time so that will boost my Focus/ Willpower thru the darn roof.
I normally use Unarmed3 on most mobs that I kill and with the above setup working ( or just Musician buffs ) it takes roughly15 Mind per Use of Unarmed3 . Couple that with the insane regen rate I hardly ever see my blue bar go very low. If mobs are hitting my mind I simply stop Chaining Unarmed3 for a few rounds to let the regen get ahead of the damage Im receiving.
I wear Ubese armor as I mainly do mob fighting and not alot of NPC/PvP fighting. If I start that I will switch to a combo of Composite and Ubese.

I have no trouble soloing the higher level imp missions on dantooine.
I am a master doc and a master carbineer with a decent composite helmet. Basicly I just spam wildshot2 which is an AoE attack til they are all dead cept one then, then I switch to burstshot1 to seal the deal.
I don't go out hunting much without my Mountain Krevol or Rock Beetle (although I guess that will be changing shortly) but I do end up soloing on some of the high end planets (Lok and Dant) as I run for my harvestors. I rarely have much of a problem against any of the animals, so long as I am buffed.
My combat skills are Doc and Pistoleer with Stopping shot. Also have Ranged support in marksman to the 3rd box for Warning shot. Basically, so long as you are not being mobbed, you can warn away creatures, heal, and peg them with a stopping shot or doubletap and a bleed or 2. This even works with Rancors, although I am sceptical of a warning shot bothering a rancor, it works for now.
There are things that hit way too hard, like krayts. Not sure if players will ever be able to tank them with the current mechanics. There would need to be some serious changes to be able to take that kind of brutal punishment.
A buffed bio-engineered rancor is something to see. They are the best CH pet in my opinion. It is the secondary stat buffs that really make a difference. BEd rancors can have over 12,000 ham and have a max damage anywhere up to 700 depending on the quality of the dna used. All wild creatures have lousy secondary stats.
You can let a rancor loose on any rebel/imp mission and they will run amok. Their 60% resistance to energy is far more critical than the 75% mauler resistance to kinetic.
I can take pretty much any single animal that warning shot works on by lobbing Health Poison C, bleed shot 1, and then warning it away. Of course most everything on advanced planets is social which makes this tactic kind of suicidal as they'll bring friends back, but if I happen to find a lone creature I can take it.
I don't usually bother though. I'm maxed on every xp type I get except rifle as I helped someone get some apprentice xp the other day.
pet? what is that?! oh... you meant the cowardly gurreck i use to distract dark jedi while i sneak in to kill it?

with food and spice broke I can't solo without a pet nearly as well as i used to. I am Master Doc and 0,1,4,2 pistoleer. Even with a helmet on I take mind damage too quickly.

Yummm...buffed graul maulers. Pretty much unstoppable. My friend and I sent one in against5 gurrecks at once, and his one buffed GM survived. It regen'ed almost as fast as the gurrecks could deal out damage. Of course, we were shooting the whole time, and his mind almost ran out...but health and action were at like 3/4, with no stims used.
Yummm is correct because I eat graul maulers for breakfast. Two at a time even. Unstoppable...HA.
I am Teras Kasi...I have mastered my body and I mastered doctor to have mastery of other's bodies as well for harm and good. I have achieved that. There are few things that can stop me because I know myself and my opponent. If you'd got a weak point, I'll find it, and hit it till you fall. You can quote me on that one.
There is NO combo of Ch pets I cannot/have nottaken down....period.

That's all well and grand, but we're really discussing going after creatures or NPC's. It's doubtful you're going to run into a Janta Warrior that is a TK master.
For doing PvE, a buffed graul is a true beast to reckon with. Heck, even my buffed mountain krevol is too much fora Janta Warrior (14K Hams, Medium Armor). Adding acouple thousand points to health and action is one thing, but adding the regenerative powers to them by buffing constitution and stamina and they can take a real beating. Adding the regeneration ability is basically like adding another 5K points to health and action as they regenerate so quickly even when they're taking damage.
