Yeha, I just dropped Master Doc to knock off a holo profession real quick...

So now I'm almost master commando and I don't miss the money aspect of Doctor ONE BIT.

I can pay a DOc 10k then go make 100k in an hour burning everything to the ground.

I do miss DOctor for many more reasons that I dont have time to get in to....

"the good docs support large groups, heal everyone and generally enjoy the social aspect of the profession."

Sounds like me, I enjoy the doctor profession, I haven't bothered to sit my butt on the cold concrete of crowded cities except for when I get asked to buff when there are no other doctors. I carry every possible pack and kit a doctor needs, and I rarely ever see another doctor have woundpacks and rez kits available on them.

I anticpiated the costs of resources and needed items and I was highly prepared for it. Thankfully I was an architect, I ran a bunch of factories for myself before I dropped the profession, now I have 4 food factories sitting behind the medic center.

Sirstaker: I know how you mean, Lowca's avian meat spawns has been horrible lately- currently best I can do is 32 charges, 708 power for 2 hours 53 mins with Yavin Avian (just spawned 2 days ago) and that's with 57 power ABEC 59 power ASDS and 23/11 power ACDRM.

To those wanting to take master doctor and think it's an easy road to making money, you're going to think wrong.

Enjoy.

I haven't made Master Doc yet, but I am capable of giving buffs. My plan is the following:

-Buy buffs from another doc on my server (he's selling 32 full sets for 90k)
-Buy 12 bivoli's for 15k
-Already had a Droid and Doc clothes (spent about 20k on that stuff previously)
-Sell buffs for 9k per (since I am not Master Doc)

-Total Investment thus far: 120k
-Expect to make first night buffing: 288k
-Expected Net Profit: 168k

From there I am going to buy another round of buffs, rinse and repeat until I hit Master. The benefits of buffing now instead of waiting 1) get XP to level my Wound Treatement Speed tree and 2) make money. I just hit Master Carb this weekend, so I will have a Carb/Doc template. This is cool because now:

-I can offer both combat and medical skills to a party (beneficial for high level dungeons like the Geo caves, Corvette, or DWB and in group PvP)

-Break up the combat grind by healing or selling buffs when I am tired of opening up the bellies of beasts to see what they're made of

-Save up to afford a factory/harvesters and make my own buff packs (and sell them since there is a big market for that)

This is the beauty of the Doc profession...you can run it like a business. All businesses need investment, vision, and testicular fortitude to succeed. If you have the vision, get the investment, and follow through your business plan then you will make money. Remember that most businesses don't make money until their second year or third year...which means you will run in the red at the beginning. Hope that inspires you a bit! If not, stick it in your ear

You folks are lucky to be able to buy buffpacks for 68K and 90K, on Lowca the lowest I've seen is 150K, the ones that sold for less are gone and closed down proably due to resource shortage or profesison changes (3 of them!) so I continue to buy 920+ buffs from that seller for 150K a set.

The surgeon smock costed me 30K, my town's mayor is a DE so I bought the 110 medic/craft station/stim dispensing surgical droid for 20K, crate of 25 +24 Bivoli for 86K, then the rest is factory/harvester maintainance so it still doesn't come cheap.

The profession is mainly a social support profession, what were you anticipating the profession to beas your ground your way to mastery?

key point of being a doc...

My alt made master doc last night (mainly to support my jedi), however I am part of a large guild and will be out tonight as my alt doc to help the troops. I'll sell buffs in Coronet to help offset the price of the buff packs, but for the most part..PvP support.

HOLY CRAP!

I don't mean that in a good way.

I grinding for 38 hours, to get to the point where to make GOOD buffs, I have to buy:

Special Food - 25k

Special Clothing - 40k

A Droid -30k

Resources - 250k (avian meat is at a high price...)

Crafting Tool(s)- 10k

Factory - 30k

Power Harvester - 20k

So, after all that grinding and macroing I get to the point where I am going to drop this proffesion.

I have to spend 405k just to make GOOD buffs. What the hell is up with that?

Anyone got some advice?

I had harvestors out gathering the good resources as soon as I started novice medic. By the time I hit master doctor I had most of the stuff I needed.

thatis not bad at all. 920 is nice. i have bought on ahazi for 90k 854 power, so yuo are buying really nice buffs.

not at all conneceted, but i made a buff with janta blood, and i got a moderate succses. sucky buff, ended up at 17 uses only 840 power. standard blood. my resourses without the blood made a 29 use, 869 power health...
then i made an action one using a pair of 140 power blood, i hit 995 or around that.
