Just wanted to point out that the jedi in question aren't doing this for FRS xp. They infact lose xp for killing tefed covert targets. They do this is be mean. There's no reason to do this other than to grief.

I refuse to buff overts. Period, and i've been grief for that as well. But no where near as much as i would be if i did.

All right, but apart from the sanitation droids, bionic limbs, hyper-drive, moisture vaporators, galactic order, abolisment of slavery, star charts, the compact and efficient central government and interplanetary free trade, what has the Empire ever done?"

They need a warning box to come up that says "Performing this action on your target player will open you to hostile actions by opposing faction members." for covert players. [ Okay ] [ Cancel ]
Overt players wouldn't get the warning.
In your game options, you could check a box to decide whether or not this warning occurs. Then you know for sure whether or not you'd get a TEF for your heal and decide if you want it or not.

Good idea but we already know we'll be TEF'd. . . i try to explain this to people who ask for buffs, rez's, heals etc while overt. Doc takes a lot of SP and doenst allow us to stack combat profs and frankly one master combat prof is not enough to keep you alive against most.

Unless you buff a TEF'd player, in which case the TEF transfers to you, and you can get killed, with no warning.

TEF's are evil and useless, want to PvP declare, don't want to PvP, don't declare, period, end of story.

TEF = Grief

Just some clarification - a Jedi will actually lose a point of force ranking for killing someone TEF'ed. They only gain by killing overts.

If you dont want to PvP, dont join the GCW, period, end of story. Chosing a side means agreeing to PvP.

Actually chooosing side doesn't necessary mean that unless you choose overt. Choosing a side means you lean towards it and accept the possability that it might happen (covert). If TEF's exist, it wouldn't be bad to have a way to identify a TEF or at least warn (if client options are set), that a TEF is about to transfer.

I think you put it a lot better.... TEF means you PvP but not constantly. Some of us don't like PvP all the time but support one side. You shouldn't ever help an overt/TEF'd person unless you are prepared to fight.

I think the issue is doctors getting griefted because we are defenseless while buffing or healing people. It can't really be stopped because people are going to do it and not give a **** about doing it. Probably need to put up a list of all the people doing this type of thing and see how they get along without the services of docs for a while might make them think twice about griefting us. Probably never happen but it would be funny to hear them rant about it.

THIS IS A WARNING TO ALL DOCTORS
Doctors, there are currently Jedi's and Siths running around with an overt oppisite faction ally. This overt person comes up to you and asks for heals and/or buffs. The moment you are TEF'd the jedi/Sith attacks you and DB's you. The reason for this happening? PVP ratings.
My advice: tell any and all overts to LD for their heals and buffs. The covert timer sets when they LD, so you have time to buff or heal before they are Overt again.
Be well Doctors, and be safe.

I had fun last night, I was playing with some area stims from my CM half of my repetoire... tossed a area heal at all the entertainers in the cantina...

Only I look up and see the TEF flag and go "oh frag" some overt rebel was getting his mind buff AFTER he went overt and not BEFORE (sigh)... especially annoying as he probably went overt at the recruiter in that same cantina.

luckily the gank-squad that showed up to beat him to a pulp either didnt "tab" on to me or decided I wasn't worth it.. (or were afraid of the "has mastered the combat medic profession" tag... ) not sure but I hotfooted it out the back door and resolved to look harder before I heal unless I am ready for rumbling..

I'm not a doc. And that's just low.

I doubt it's a matter of just being pointlessly mean though. There's no point to it unless they're getting some kind of gain. Wouldn't be surprised if the FRS xp system was hosed and they were getting points for covert TEF as well as overt.

I was originally (and still am to an extent) of the mind that if a doc heals a Jedi I'm after, that makes him/her fair game. The flipside is that the credits I earn go to support quite a few doctors since they keep me standing upright.

I've given up on the Jedi system, so it's a moot point anyway, but I just wanted to voice some support for you guys. This kind of garbage is pure crap.

Thanks for the heads up. As usual jedi are some of the lowest noobs in the game. I for one won't even buff a jedi. They think they're so great, why would they need a buff.
