Thread: Spells omg... :(

And yes you are right. I can keep crafting meds. The problem for me is the significance in the meds I craft is much less significant. The resources I have collected for specific meds might be obsolete. But oh well, I guess we just have different opinions on this matter. You want it to be easy I want it to be complex. To each his own.

The new system is far more complex then you are giving it credit for. I don't know if your actually in the TC filling our /bug reports but I am, and have been for the past 3 days and 90% of the reports I'm putting in are getting changed to better match the new role of the game.
I'm not here to start crap I'm trying to explain to you that having an item in your inventory doesn't make it anyless Magical if no one knows its there. I can't tell you how many noobs I've rezed in Live that are like "OMG how did you do that". There is no difference in the current system and the CU with how we heal. None. except in one system we have a million items. In the other we have long timers. Other then that there is no difference.
And how are stims less "Significate"??? EVERYONE can use them...they are MORE significate if anything. You have a customer base of 100% of the server vice maybe 20% of those that are forced to "waste 15pts on a profession they don't want". Maybe you should come out with us one day and test...just to see how "Less complex" healing really is. I bet you 20c on a level PVE fight you will have your group dead because you can't heal fast enough. And that has and is still happening to me, so I'm not just starting crap. Take it as you will, but I know what I'm talking about.
In the new system do you appear to beinjecting either yourself or your target the way the current system works?

SinfulDoom wrote:if you were a former crafter you would undertand... Granted it might not have appeared we were doing anything when a doc applied a buff but it was actually using an object within the game to make it possible. I cant image why you actually like having the game simplified down to the point they are initially. It was the complexity that kept me coming back. There is so much depth to the game now that might be washed away and lost in the CU. Is it that hard for you to realize why people are upset?
Are you trying to say having buff packs in your inventory is what kept you playing SWG?
My whole view on this, is that now I don't have to fly to some crap planet like Dantooine and shuttle to some dead player city to try and get a good bargain on stims, spending tens of thousands of credits on a crate. I think now, if I were a new player, it'd be better since I could get right into healing my groupmates and not have to worry about running out or making new ones.

You kind of hit the nail on the head with that one. New players, who are maybe used to EQ or WOW maybe, can now heal with a magical wave of their hands!
I won't question the convenience of the move, I agree with you on that, however I have to agree with the others who say it damages the economy. Crafting docs making stuff for doctors was a good thing. Now that doctors are clerics, (intentional move IMHO), we have no need for the physical, we heal through...well that's really the question isn't it. What is the source of our healing? It's a philosophical thing to me, we now heal through some unknown power that we can't explain. Before I suppose our training was in the anatomy of the body and such, now I guess our training is more psychic or spiritual in nature right?
No components feels like they're somehow lessening the game. Others call that dumbing it down, and I'm not sure I totally disagree with that statement...
So here's a question, is the removal of components dumbing the act of healing down or isn't it? Let's ignore the rest of the game and focus on that area...

It is the EXACT same emote, so yes.
Unless I can't read....which maybe the case...I never said healing was Less signifcate....I said stims.

Also when did I ever say healing was less significant??? Please find one post where I have stated this and I will never post again on these forums... In fact I have voiced my opinion on this matter quite strongly. Go to my post "Group healing Doc/CM. But I'm sure you have already read that but chose to forget it.

They're using an unlimited amount of hypothetical bacta tanks? It's the same stretch of reasoning behind how marksmen never need to switch out blaster energy packs on their guns, or architects can make entire halls fit into little datapads, or how you can put three vehicles in your pocket.
