Thread: Patch Notes for Test Center
NasrikSnar ... I think everyone is still sputtering / furious / po'd at the factory schematic change. I'm very disappointed that that’s all the changes that were there. I would have liked to see something that addressed our issues directly ... oh well.
Zarlor ... thanks for at least letting us know that discussions were occurring. Even if we don't know what's being said, at least we know that it's a topic.
Everyone .. go make your voice heard on the development boards! From the tone in Holo's posts, he doesn't understand what it really means.
Just adding my voice to the "100 Max schematic sucks" list. ![]()
Maniweh.
Well, let's face it. Docs are in pretty good shape overall. At least our Top issue on that last round did get addressed (the Factory problems with pulling from crates). I have sen some of the Dev plates and they have LOTS of stuff besides professions to work on as well. Although I do hope that their managers do take not of that pull at the top of these forums and see that the TOP issue is Profession Fixes and allow some reallotment of time to get them the chance to work more often on profession issues.
Professions are the base defining factor of what our characters are. I think they do need to set some priorities aside for that.
That being said, we also have some of the THORNIEST issues to deal with up near the Top. Mind Dimage is massaive, and affects every profession and aspect of the game. I don't doubt a lot of discussion will need to take place on an issue like that and I don't think it can be easily or quickly addressed even in a few months time.
/medicalforage probably still has underlying issues about Docs -v- Artisans on skills and abilities and that discussion will no doubt also be a pretty big one. It's been a long arduous one for US, I doubt it will be any easier for the Devs. (Although I hope they will let us provide some guidance since we've done a lot of examination of the issue on these forums.)
I'm willing to give things some time, but I would have like to have seen more of the CM issues directly addressed. Indications are that this may not be the complete patch list for the publish yet, but I'm not holding out any great hopes here. (Although there are some assurances of fixes coming in the next publish, as outlined in the Big list.)
Frustrating, to some extent, yes. But we've gotten some acknowledgement now, at least. That, to me, is a HUGE step in the right direction. If nothing else, they at least gave us that this go around. It may nto be acknowledged in any patch notes anywhere, but communication is starting to open up. Let's hope it gets better and with better communication we can get our concerns noted and fixed.
Z..if you tell me that our issues are being addressed at least on the Correspondent forum, then that will tide me over.
But, to be completely honest here, I'm growing weary of this...all of this...and I've been seriously considering dropping anything and everything that has to do with Medical Skills completely...
Only so much of the BS you can take for just so long before you just have to call it quits...
Well yhea overall doctors are not as broken as some of other professions, which is kind of strange thing to be glad about, but thats the reality of it.
And I don't agree people saying we are popular or even most useful, just because we are the most mastered profession. I think that definately means we are easy to master, not we are good or powerful since dancer, architect and weaponsmith was top 5 with us and there is no question as to their power. But lets not infer too much from that silly list.
Although none of our issue seems game breaking for the profession, it sorta put us in that hazy area where we are working enough so we can't really complain, but issues are serious enough so we can't move beyond and ask for the improvements to the profession.
Lately I am having trouble with understanding what Dev might have envisioned when they made all the profession, especially the support profession like Medic, Doctor, CM, Dancer, Squad Leader, Etc. One of main question being
Although there are many ways we can play our doctor, and our profession is certainly flexible enough to be played in many different ways, from DEV and Designers point of view, do they see doctors in medical center tending wound or at field with group? I mean with stimp-E med use requirement and CM's ability to heal damage putting shame to ours, as well as limited need for wound healing in field, it sorts of tell me that maybe we might not be. But then we have the Rez, so that sorta tell me maybe we are. Ofcourse right now we can do both, and we are appriciated from people in whatever way we play them, but I would certainly like to get a clearer picture from Dev or Designer.
Thats why I would try my best to stay away from CM discussion until I can even say one way or the other. I still hold that Dev considered CM to be a healer profession and not a combat profession, but heck my CM stimp sales are up so I've got no complaints. And once they buff up our cure poison/diease, I'll make up my opinion then. (Although I still think without lowering the mind cost of using these cure packs, the effect wouldn't be noticeable. But there have been more change in Test server right now that might effect that so we'll have to see)
As I always like to say, I got all the time in the world. I can wait like nobodies business ![]()
I feel our pain, Texxie. But where you gonna go?
THere's only a few professions out there that don't have some MAJOR problems in there somewhere. I keep watching their issue lists and some of the overlap ours and others are just doozies.
I don't know. I think it's the fight that gets a bit tiresome, expecially for those who were fighting it in Beta (and you and Slothy were even more front line there than I was on the Doc side, I did more Medic forum cruising because I was on Ahazi and we got wiped, so I never got that high in Doc there.) I fouoght hare don the /medicalforage for a need for the skill to begin with, and then for a revamp because what the gave us was useless and I told them they would get the complaints about the complexity of the profession, and sure enough they got them. They got them BIG. And the first thing Holo did was toss some /medicalforage ideas out to us. Not bad ideas for Novice Medic, and a start, but we all know it really wasn't complete and they never did get back to us on it. Now it looks like it will be the top Issue this go around.
I guess somebody has to keep up the fight, you know? But yeah, we all need a rest sometimes.
You just go have fun no matter what you decide to do. You deserve it.
I dunno Z, definately anything far, far, far away from crafting of any sort...been contemplating the mindlessness of the combat professions for a nice change of pace, would be nice to be able to actually kill something for a change ![]()
Or simply sellback all skills and start over and wait for the politician profession to show up. With my luck, that profession will suffer the same type of issues ![]()
Got one or two more posts...then I'm gone from these boards for a while, maybe time off the game(redeeded all my harvesters two nights ago) will help ![]()
You've done a damned good job of Correspondent, far better then I ever would've done. Thanks Z. ![]()
Looking on the bright side, I can replace all but one of my factories with extractors.
I've seen other crafters gripe about this as well. Zarlor, could you raise this on the correspondent forum
There is also an active thread on the development board started by Holocron about this. Since SOE will read the feedback there, go and make your thoughts known.

If they limit the schematics to 100 I am going to have to double my prices for stims. I simply do not have time to sit by the factory all day babysitting it.
/sigh
As a maker of stims for quite some time, I have to agree, the schematic nerf is going to hurt me...not just a little but badly. I am going to do whatanother poster said, make 1,000 schematic runs on all adv. components and just leave them in the factory input/output bins. Use that as storage. After that, my crafting days may be done.
