Then don't ask the enemy to buff you

I'm not taking issue, I'm just trying to understand why you would want to deny services. I get it now.

As for the killing and then buffing, if its right away that they're asking for a buff, I understand not giving it to them, or even if it's a later day but they still killed you for getting a TEF from buffing. But just because they killed you once in a fight doesn't mean you should hold back from buffing (I don't think anyone actually said that at all, just clarifying my point).

I'm looking forward to seeing what all this is about in the field once I hit master.

It's a hazard of any medic who is factioned who heals an overt, because you can'tdiscern their status, overt or covert without asking. Medics who are neutral don't have this problem; they can't heal anyone overt or with a TEF.

I can't tell you how nervous I got in the Theed cantina when I tossed an AOE stim and some overt reb was in the healing radius, and I got a TEF. I avoid PvP outside of events like the plauge, because it becomes one on one ganking, and I don't have any defense skills built in to my CM toon, aside from the ranged support and pistol IV stuff.

However, if you've been identified positively as someone who will kill a doctor on the other side who has a TEF, I don't think it's reasonable for you to ever expect that doc to buff you again. Too bad. You made your decision, based on the "necessity of war"; now live with the consequences of it.

It is a good idea to keep a list. I check it frequently along with what the person did. If they are on the list, they don't get anything from me.

Plus with a list you can always say the classic line: "You're going on my list, buddy!"

Yeah, I keep one.

After being a MDoc for so long, I've come to accept the fact that if I buff/heal an Overt/TEFd, I'm going to get a TEF and possibly get TEF ganked. I'm not willing to drop out of the Rebellion, so I live with it. But I also have absolutly no problem telling someone to bugger off if they had TEF ganked me and then later wanted a buff. I've "Denied Servies" to entire guilds for it.

I there a list somewhere you can check to see who you've denied service to? Kind of like the /addignore list?

I must say it really gets me when a doc wants to deny service to someone that killed them and then get attacked verbaly for refusing service.

Sure if a doc buffs and overt and gets a TEF then they can be killed. But I must ask why would you want to kill a doc anyway that is the focus of attention of a bunch of people waiting in line, Some patiently some well lets just say not so patiently.

So if you happen to kill a doc that is public buffing, then you had better be able to accept the fact that you will never get buffed by that person again. If you want war then that is what you will get! Just trying killing me and getting a buff later. I will start spouting to the whole line of people how I was previously murdered while performing my service and that such disrespect to those who like public buffing should know what a jerk this person is for doing it.

Personaly, I think there is a difference between making PvP war and griefing. Griefing is where you try to gain enjoyment out of other people's misery. Killing a public buffer is trying to destroy other people's gaming by taking away their ability to get buffed. So it would only be fair that such a person can't get buffed and have problems joining the PvP war just like they caused for others. It seems the only fair recourse.

Couldn't agree more. If you die while buffing in a clean fight Rebel vs Imperial, then all is fair. However, just being a pain in the ass isn't cool at all. That's cause for blacklisting.

Sounds like a suggestion is forming here.

How about a separate list, like the ignore list but a deney service list.

This list would work like the ignore list only benificial effects would not effect that character like heals, wound heals, buffs, entertainer buffs, etc. Maybe a separate post to round out the idea would be nice. However, i can't see as this would become something extreamly high on the request list for doctors. We have lots of really great ideas already that we would love to see implemented.

For those that don't know, there is an in-game notepad that is saved to a plain text file in your profile directory for your account/character... type /note [/notepad] to bring it up. I have my "deny" list here, didn't know there was an actual /deny for docs... gonna play with this a bit, see what I see and post anything interesting.
