My buffs: 2234-2334 3Hours 10Minutes
Price: 10k

Humm....maybe I should try charging 12 instead.
Some people are just plaing morons, I charge 40k for a skip line buff, for the VIP AND the following ordinary customer I use havla. Ok so? Alright, so I made a skip line buff, havla of course, and the following customer got his buffs inlike 5 seconds as well thanks to the havla, appearantely, the ordinary customer didnt approve me buffing him about 10x times faster than usual and left calling me a SOB cause he thought I charge too much.
I buy 100 buffs for 450k, 25x Bivoli for 250k and havla 1x for 5k.
When I do Janta/Mokk missions I can easily make about 800k / 3hours thanks to the buffs.
10k is not expensive, it will never be expensive.
If someone is unhappy with the pricesetting they can go back doing 1k missions off the Mos Eisley mission term.
Just my 2 cents..

my philosophy is if no one is complaining, you're not charging enough =)

I was buffing in the Coronet starport and had someone complain that 18k was too high for my buffs (2000-2200) when I was the only buffing doc in the area, but two or three customers in line jumped to my defense with the old make-800k-on-dantooine argument, so most people understand the economics involved =)

Someone last night on Corbantis payed 100k for a buff, so its entirely supply and demand, there's no issue of 'docs shouldnt charge that much just because they can'. Yes, actually, thats EXACTLY why we should charge that much =)

If it wasn't a fair price, we'd have no customers.

Take a look at Master Musicians... they charge 5k or more for their buffs, yes they have no consumables cost. They must buy/make an instrument, and buy BE clothes, but that's it, it's all pure profit from there on.

Hey guys i'm new to the doc. forums, i really appreciate you guys and girls helping us reg. players out. i'm trying to get in your league. i think a price of 10k-20k is more than fair for buffs. when i'm in line i don't mind the wait, cause i know your helping us out. but i'll prob. understand what you guys are talking about when i get to mast. doc, and i've got all these people complaining about the line. but once again i'd like to say thanks. /two thumbs up

i dropped doc on my alt because i was buying packs. i found i made much more cash running missions. but, im now working my way back to doc cause its a prof i enjoy. 10k is nothing with the price of the packs and bivoli taken into consideration. will start crafting my own buffs once i got all the resources i need and enough cash to buy the avian and herb. maybe then i will be able to keep up with the docs buffing 2500s for 8k seems to me its the docs who are keeping the prices low undercutting each other.

10K is fine for buffs that last for 2 hours whatever the HAM adjustment is. 12K for ones that go above 3 hours is appropriate too.

When I craft and I see that the duration no longer changes, I experiment on charges regardless of the power. It is usually around 800 anyways so it will be about a 2K buff. Do you really need the extra 500 - 800 HAM to take down Jantas when your HAM is at 2800-3000? If you do, you need to get weaker missions.

I would say make the UBER buffs for guildies or citizens but make long lasting average power buffs to sell as buffs or on vendors.

As far as complainers, refuse their business and keep an eye on ur line so you dont lose business. They will come around. Or another doctor will take advantage of them and charge 15K-20K for their 'better' buffs, lol. Either way just as they may haggle you down you can refuse to buff.

hi,

everytime i buff i don't give a number, i say "paid whatever you think". None so far tiped me less than 15k, i've got even some players that tip me 25 or even 50k so, some players do know what a doctor cost or what a real good buff means to him, paying 20k and then cause of that buff doing 500k or even 1M it's just a small drop of water in the ocean.

I have buffs that do 2450-2471 for 2.75 hours on all stats and I sell them for 10k.

I have been given alot more for them and I do think a raise in cost from 10k average to 20k would shorten the lines to an acceptable level where we wouldn't have to hide the master doctor tags. It wouldn't be all that bad to do a few buffs for people.

I say raise the cost to 20k for a full set across all servers.

Also Musician buffsshould be 10k-15k because of the time to apply but thats a whole other topic.

After being on both sides I agree. raise the price to 20k.I have had to buy buffs,Bivoli,Brandy, and then havla just so lines don,t get to long.I don't buff huge crowds but having to buy all that and then sell them for 10k......seems someone else is making out on the buffs not me.

The cost of buffs is a regressive tax. When I first started playing and was working on marksmen-scout while trying to save enough credits for my first set of composite armor, 10-15k was a lot of money. Sometimes I even lost money after paying for buffs and transportation if a hunt did not go well. Later as a MCM-Master Carbineer I could make 500K off a single set of buffs soloing mokks. In terms of real costs buffs are astronomically expensive to some and ridiculously cheap to others. But since I don’t have time to have everyone in the buff line fill out a financial statement I charge a fixed price. IMO the “fair” price for a buff is what people will pay based on a free market.

I agree with the price increase. Besides, most people get buffed by a MD ( I play one on Tempest) go out and kill the enemies that they then harvest to sell to use so we can make buffs. Without our buffs, they wouldn't be able to easily do what they do, kill what they kill, survive the things they do. I say increase the price acrossed all servers. Make it universal. If others want to keep increasing the price of the items we need in order to make our buff/med packs, then we increase the price again to compensate. We are one of the most valuable resources in this game. Everyone comes to see us sooner or later, whether for a buff, or a cure, or just healing wounds.

How often do you get tiped for healing wounds? I guess those wound packs just make themselves, and reproduce in my inventory over night, right? Those cure disease/poison packs come up out of the ground and jump into my pockets so that when I reach in to see if I have any money or just pocket lint for the ingrediants I need to buy, I'll find a wonderful supprise. Not all customers are that thoughtless. I have had people tip for wound/poison/disease healing/curing, but I usually have to politely thank them in advance for the tip.

I say absolutely, 20k is a drop in the bucket compaired to what people make once buffed by us. I'd even go as far as saying even that is cheap when you think about it. 50k to jump to the front of the line, absolutely, have done it before and will keep doing it as long as we still buff. It would be great to see every doctor on every server unite in this, but even if others don't, as of today my prices will be a firm 20k.

I've paid 10k 12k even 15k for buffs with my Mainly combat Character. I never complain. I tip the Wound healers and Disease curers as I know it cost money to make the meds used in the treatment.

I Don't Buff the public with my master Doc as I can't afford the High Quality Buffpacks. I can't make them Myself as the resource prices to make buffpacks mainly Meat resources are priced way to high for even low to average quality. Seems to cost me as much to try to make Lower quality buffpacksas it is to buy the High Quality buffpacks.

Basically you provide a valuable service if they don't like the price well then they can move along.

I agree prices need to go up and if they charge more for components, packs, and resources well then they will just go up again.

Iunderstand what10k means toa poorplayer over another richer player, butremember what you're getting. If anovice swordsmanwith a rich daddy throws on good composite and gets wel buffed, he can take down almost anything with a power hammer and two handed curved sword.

Even fora complete newbie, with just one or two boxes into marksman or brawler (which hegot with XP from themissions he did to gather 10k), a buff can double or triple the level of missions he can handle.

So I kind of like the concept of "pay what you think it's worth." To those who really don't care about 50k, they'll tip you 50k. To those who are a little poorer, they probably won't even be seeking doctor buffs unless they've saved at least 10k, so maybe they'll tip you 8k since 2k means a lot to them. I think I'll try that, though I might need to have people form a line to manage it.
