Thread: My opinion, for anyone that cares...
While I do accept that somethings are set in stone, yes I do thing things can be changed.

Do you honestly think that anything other than the resource requirements will change? I've been pushing (as have others) forover amonth for the devs to rethink all of the changes to the healing system. All we ever get is the cold shoulder. I used to be very excited and postive about the CU. Then I saw the design of this final version and experienced the dev's attitude toward anyone who objected to it. It's amazing how quickly one can become disenchanted.

Don't get me wrong. I'm still fighting.Even so,at this point I have essentially lost hope. The devs haven't given an inch on any of the healing changes. Yes, they changed the CM requirement back to ranged support (that change didn't surprise me) but that has nothing to do with the healing system. I would not be very surprised if the schematics were adjusted, but the devs have been steadfast in their insistance on componentless healing, allowing all combat professions to use stims andputting med crafting in BE.
Note on those 'rare' resource items, they're likely to belong use items. Supposedly enhancements will last a couple of play sessions, so you probably won't sell alot, and if you do, you can charge the price to make up for the difficulty of sitting by a stream on Endor to gather the mollusk. At least they don't require Tatooinian mollusk/fish

I suppose, the additional resource requirements aren't really all that much it boils down to the following:
.... lots of resources deleted
This makes the list much less intimidating and seemingly much more doable. I freaked at first, don't get me wrong and if they want to relax the resource requirements, I'll be all for it but as a doc who has been crafting since July of 03 ... I'm certainly not ready to proclaim this as the end of my crafting career.

Surrendered all my Doc skills the other night.I will not be going for Combat Medic like I was planning on, and I will not be going BE in order to continue being a medical crafer.I will be taking down all the Doc related material from my site, since most of is worthless now.I do not like the healing changes.I do not like the crafting changes.I ESPECIALLY do not like the changes in resource requirements for the new craftable items.I think the devs screwed us over by not letting us correspondants and CU sand box testers give feedback on this stuff. I was optimistic before the CU went to TC. But now im just disapointed.I'll just stick to piloting, since thats still fun, and I'll try out some GCW stuff after the CU goes live. But I will not be playing a healer in this new system. That is all.
I REALLY wanted to like the CU. I had myself convinced these changes were good and needed.
I think some of the changes are WAY too drastic.
I also can't figure out why with us changing the combat system they had to change the whole UI to this new ass-ugly one

Overreact much? Everything is subject to change. CMs had a fit and proved it and got their requirements changed from Pistols to Ranged again.
Don't feed me anything about them not listening or not acting on what we suggest.

The resource requirements are only one of the things I dont like about the new way healing is done. Many different suggestions have been offered up and disscussed by players over the last couple months on how healing could be changed. I never said the devs dont listen, as a former correspondant, I know they do for the most part.
However the devs chose to go a different route than I would have, onethat I dont find nearly as fun as the old way. Im sure a lot of other people really like the changes. I'm not one of those. I have played my main character a certain way since the game went live. The entire routine and style that I played is no longer the same. Being a Doc wont be fun for me anymore.
Can the resources still be changed? Sure they can. Will that fix the "un-funness" I feel when playing a healer? Probably not. I disagree with many of their descisions, and have decided to change my charachter to something that will still be fun for me.
Was I a little over the top when I wrote that post? Maybe. But It was still like getting kicked in the space cubes after having spent so much time and invested so much in my Doctor. I know thats not what the devs intended, but thats stillhow it feels.
Here's my issue with your statements and of course it's just my opinion, take it as you will.
Youhave seen data for months on this, peope have been talking against it. Why in the world would they make drastic changes based on a untested product? Sure for months no changes, people are making constructive statements all over the place and things being changed. CM requirements, weapon certs several other things. Note here! We made the observation that healing should give exp solo like a couple days before they did. Coincidence? Most likely but oh well.
I personally don't care, so I truely hope that they add in a catalyst of some type for healing to help people get a better Tech feel than Fantasy feel. Personally it feels the way I want it to.
Here's to hoping.

I fully understand. Glad i dropped armorsmith myself. Not cause of the changes, or the gameplay, or resources, but on the number 1 thing is the fun factor.. We all log in to have fun, not have a second job. Timesinks are not my idea of fun. Resource changes, just totally nerfing a profession, making you REGRIND to BE, which sucks, trust me on that one, just to craft meds, that when CU hits, the total demand will not be what it was a month ago. It is frustrating and i very much understand. Besides like someone else mentioned, After almost 2years, we are getting a new game, and the devs kinda are like, just shut up and take it attitude.
