waiting to see what Happens, not a master doc yet (my alt) as he needs the crafting branch, and only have box and half of that so not bothering grinding as the crafting goes out the window.
If things dont go well, might cancel 2 out of 3 accounts and see what happens.........
My fear is when the CU does go live, there will be lots of players canceling their alts or all their accounts.........

I know of 11 so far who have left.. im dropping two toons if things dont change. /shrug. keeping one for awhile, ill give the cu a chance on that toon. Im getting tired of test center, the level system and the icons are really getting on my nerves.

I have two docs with combat professions that I am grinding combat fsxp. I only used the docs to get HS FSXP or to do self buffing without the hastle of waiting in lines. I have made high quality stimms that I use frequently and heal state stimms and wound packs that Irarely use.But I don't think I will miss the crafting - it was a pain in the arse to craft 119k xp worth of Advanced BECs to get the crafting column from novice medic to master doc. But, I can understand why other docs would be angry because it removes a business that they used to raise funds necessary to play the game. SOEhas stripped this line of business away and I do consider this redesign a slap in the face for established professions, including the armorsmith, which I also have an alt-toon. It is no fun focusing on the bad things. I certainly hope that there is more good than bad to keep me interested.

If I am pleased with the combat upgrade, then Imay continue to fund these two accounts. I have other alternate accounts with the professions below that I have cancelled months agoand I am waiting for them to run out. SOE says the combat upgrade is free. But, what is free? Does the Armorsmith, BioEngineer,etc. get to craft the new items without purchasing the upgrade? Can those wh purchase these new items use them without purchasing the upgrade? These are questions that I need answered to determine if I will remain a happy doctor or not. Does SOE forget that we pay to play? And many people pay for more than one account? I need to find the forum topic for this information.
I fear that the "free upgrade" is going to improve server performance because it will "free" many slots in SWG servers across the galaxy. And SWG will become a ghost town again because of disgruntled players and SOE's failure to listen to the user community.

This is a downgrade, plain and simple. Any way you look at it SWG is getting dumbed down. Perfect for new players who pick up nearly every MMO around and pay for a few months till they are bored. Absolutly terrible for those of us who have stuck it out and figured everything out and like the complexity.

already have cancelled out my account. have given access to my storage homes to a good friend of mine that is still playing, but i dont believe ill ever return to this shadow of its former self game.
i enjoyed serving Starsider for their medical needs, and enjoyed healing their wounds and buffed them when needed, but with this CU, its all over with. if i wanted to play WoW or EQ, i would have bought those games.
i wish all of you fellow docs good luck if you continue on when the CU hits live.

I'll be keeping my Template...although I'm not happy with some changes, overall I'm happy with the CU, and I can live with it.

I understand the angst regarding these two professions, but if you leave where will you go? Seriously, your choices stink: EQ1, EQ2, WoW, DAoC, UO, or AO. Yeah there are a few more but thery stink too. I think you are all jumping the gun, yes it looks bad now, but there are still a couple weeks to change things. There are some changes that are GOOD, such as ranged heals for Medics. Haven't gotten my test character up to CM yet, and I'm sure the power and range aren't up to what a CM can do, but ranged heals were needed long ago for medics. They need to adjust the warmup/cooldown timer for stims as well as the magic heal, but they have time to make that adjustment. For now, I plan on using the respec to take up CM, but I will give Doc a chance first. I will NOT cancel my accounts, as there are other things to do. And if all else, I will bide my time til Middle-Earth Online, Vanguard and D&D Online come out.

There is no upgrade to purchase. The CU will be downloaded for free just like all the updates. It's not like the expansions. The CU is an update to the core game. There will not be people playing without the CU, everyone will download it as a patch.

Sadly, my answer is nowhere (at least as far as MMORPGs go). I agree that there is nowhere to go, but that isn't enough reasonfor me to keep playing SWG. Post CU SWG is a game that I have no desire to play, just as I have no desire to play EQ2 or any of the others.

This is what SWG is becoming. It's becoming to much of a mage/cleric style healing. This is why I played SWG (not the others), and why I never touched EverSux or WoW. Not to mention, it's screwing any doctor that crafts or makes money from buffing (unless something drastic changes). I for one don't have the time, desire, nor money to completely gather new resources after the CU. I don't think I could bring myself to take doc off my main toon. If it comes to me hating it that much after the CU goes live, I would assume cancel him the retemplate.
Like I said in the original post, I'm not clicking yet, I'll give it a chance. Assuming nothing changes from patch notes and everything read and done in tc, I won't hesitate to cancel though. What would I go back to you asked? If I got really bored otuside my life and needed to just pvp (which they're trying to make this game into), I'd stick to a first person shooter like Unreal
