It is pathetic to be a doc now. We serve absolutly no purpose in this game at all. 10 minute buffs, no crafting skills, and no combat skills. What are we good for?

This is a great question and worth taking a real look at.
One way to look at.
Let say you are a master of any fight class. At that point you have a choice of what else to get. Your goal is to be a lvl 80 toon so you want to pick up another prof that will help you attain that lvl and add to you abilities to make you an even more effective fighter. You basically have two choices, pick up another fight class or pick up a healing class (CM or Doc). Lets take a look at these option.
Pick up a second fight class.
If you do this you will gain some other specials maybe a little more def and speed. Thats about it.
Pick up CM or Doc
Here you will add many new skills. Healing, buffing or debuffing, Dots or cures, etc.
IMO by picking up a healing class you are much more a benifit to your team by being able to heal them when needed (a quick heal before a DB timer can save a life, for example) than picking up a few more specials. You still get much of the same def bonuses as would be gained in another fight class.
Ask any Jedi who the hardest to kill non-Jedi are and they will always tell you a CM or a Doc no question about it.

While these are all very valid points, it's a shame that you're completely missing that a large part of Doctors do not want to play a profession who's sole reason for being is to make combat classes better and make it easier to kill Jedi. That's what Combat Medic was for. Doctor was always, and should have remained, the social/crafting Healing profession.

I love being a Doctor, and I absolutely hate combat. I'm a Master Doc, I have no Combat Skills and I'll never be Jedi. There's no reason for me to go out with groups. Even if I were to switch my Master Tailor over to a combat skills, I'd still have no reason to go out in groups. Almost daily I consider dropping Doctor since it's using up skill points to allow me to Heal (which I love to do, but it's seeming not to be worth it anymore) or buff people with buffs that'll be worn off by the time they get where they are going. Take the medicine crafting away from BE and give it back to Doctors. Give us XP for wound healing inside a Med Center. Push for buffs to last longer. There's lots of little changes that could help make Doctors what we wanted to play, not just CombatProfessionAdd-on001.

Marrow, your players are asking you to help guide Doctor back into the Profession we wanted to play, which was not a Combat Role but Healer/Medical Center/Crafting/Social Role. All we're asking is that you do that instead of telling us how good we'll be at killing Jedi or how great Doctor is if you're a TKA. Sure some players love doctor for what it does for Combat, but those aren't "Doctors", those are combat players who want to be uber. Something needs to be done for the "non-Combat" part of Doctor.

Then it sounds like you need to change profession, maybe stick with medic vice Doctor....

And as far as your last paragraph, I love how you think everyone hates Doctor, by generalizing it as "Your Players". Because honestly I'm not in that boat. You choose not to be social because you get no benefits from it...not XP, little to no money (like that has ever changed), or whatever.....NOT because you have to be in Combat to get XP. I have no problem remaining my playstyle of aSocial Doctor.

Not only that, but I resent the fact that you condsider the players that love Doc for what it is as "Combat Players"....sorry to break it to you, but I'm a Support Player....along with just about everyone else that has Doctor today. I am a "Doctor" first and always.Just because I compliment my template with a combat profession doesn't make me any less of a doctor then someone, like yourself, who has tailor.

You choose not to be a "Medical Crafter" because obviously you like playing Tailor....fine whatever...but just because you can't craft "Medical stuff"doesn't mean that the "Non-Combat Doctor", such as yourself, can't remain social....you just choose not to be. Doctor has been a Combat Profession since day one of the release of the game.....you just never played that role....and thats fine. But that doesn't mean you can't remain "Social" in the current system.

Correspondants have no say whatsoever in what gets done. The program exists solely to give we, the players the IMPRESSION that we have representation. In reality, it's like a Soviet election

What happened to the GCW correspondant is proof positive of this.

I admire those who are willing to try, who become correspondants and try to make some good happen. It's not a job I'd take even if SOE paid me to take it, much less do it for nothing except the threat of GarVa breathing down your neck and thousands of players who think you aren't doing anything for them.

So, take what little info they can get for us, and admire them for their sacraifices. We all should support our correspondants.

it's not the correspondant's fault at the changes that have come about in the game.. they have as much say so in it as I do in you blameing them. No matter what I say you are still gonna place blame....

however, they are responsible for my lack of knowledge in knowing what QFE stands for. As I am clueless on this... so any help anyone?

Everyone got nerfed in the CU. We're ALL less powerful and less useful than we were pre-CU.

The funny thing is Doc's were never usefull pre-cu and no one everwhined about it....Now we actually have a purpose and have skills that actually make a difference everyone is all upset. Really makes no sense to me.

I think the point everyone can agree on, is...

Pre CU, the Doctor profession had a non-combat, more social/crafting role that they could fill. Now, that whole aspect of the profession is gone. We are combat only and considered a back-up profession to the real combat professions.

MD is incredibly useful. It is just a matter of perception. If by useful you define it as sitting in a starport makine 10k every 30 seconds, then no, it's not useful.

Combine it with Master TK for example and it is awesome. Groups love seeing me as everyone gets buffed up, rez, healed, etc. People do appreciate buffs, they just aren't keen on getting them in the starport because by the time they get to where they are going, they run out. A doc's usefullness is now on the battlefield. A good doc can allow a group to succeed where otherwise they would certainly fail. It's all about how you play it.

/agree

With my "Master Doctor" tag on I find myself the most popular person at the Mining Outpost on Dantooine soon as I get off the shuttle. Grinding groups LOVE having an MD with them. I can't begin to count the number of times I've saved myself and others in the group from certain death when a mob got out of control.

Also,as aTKM and CoB running you can withstand a beating from a LOT of creatures as a tank while you simply outheal the damage you get. Personally, I love the combination of MD and TKM, but I'm not the type that wants to kill everything in sight simply by looking at it either. I think it just depends on how you like to play.
