The concerns of all are noted. I understand we have many people that love to craft and heal. What we do know is that somehow BE is getting our crafting tree. What we don't know is what exactly will be given to them. When people read about the CU and see BE will be taking the Doctor Crafting tree, they suddenly think "OMG BE's are going to be the new "Ultra-Crafters for medical supplies!?!?!!!!11!!!"
We don't know that.
Actually if you search for one of Thunderheart's replies in the bloated mess that is the CU thread you do see this:
"Doctors will need to use the character respec to redefine their skill set, but that playstyle is preserved."
I'm probably pointing out the obvious here, but if Medic gets med crafting and BE supplies components for it, then there will be no need for doctors to respec. So at the moment it seems a fair probability that Dev's do have BE in mind as the master medsupply crafters. That being the case I'd suggest focusing on what we might replace the crafting tree with, it's about the most positive action we can take.
Of course the piecemeal release of info, doesn't help though, I myself am as annoyed about the way this was announced as anyone else; it's been done in such away that it was inevitably going to upset people. A bit of a PR blunder really, expecting positive feed back on an incomplete and less than positive picture, was wildly optimistic. I think Corrs would have an easier time if a little more though was put in to announcements like this; not their responsibility of course but ultimately they're the poor souls who have to cop the flak SOE could help them out a bit.
[EDIT] Not that I disagree with the cut and thrust of what you say mind, we should step back from the hyperbole where we can. Just what we have here is a fundamental communication problem rather than any one group being at fault.

Honestly we really have no say in what SOE does. We have no say in what blocks we get to replace crafting, we have no say in how many SP's we have to use. We don't have any say in basically anything that is being changed. The reason I say that so bluntly is because out of the entire CU, we probably know about 5% of it, and the Alpha Testers probably know about 50% of it.
Players can whine and cry nerf all day long, but when all is said and done SOE knows what the "Master Plan" is. We do not. It's really that simple. The amount of post floating around by people totally over reacting is really uncalled for. And within almost every "CU" post on this forum and any other, the general flow is "B!tch, Scream Nerf, it won't be that bad, No one knows, there isn't enough information".
I've said it many times now but I will say it again. The amount of information we have about *our profession*, is not enough to start freaking out. All we know is things will be changing, we don't know how they will be changing, and that is why I think everyone is on the rampage. We simply want to know
We don't have enough information, We don't have a post by *ANYONE* asking "What would you like to replace the crafting blocks?", We don't have any guidance other than what you posted "Doctors will need to use the character respec to redefine their skill set, but that playstyle is preserved." Which to me says *Skill points are changing, your "Grand role" will no longer be the same, but your playstyle can remain the same.....IF you feel like going that route.*
We have no clue how the skill points will be changed, all we know is we can't have 3 Elite Profession. Doctor is an elite, BE is a Hybrid. Which could possible leave us with.
*Master Medic, Master Doc, BE Crafting Line, Master nose picker (which is the most uber profession ever
)*
The new system will bring everything into balance, meaning it could possibly bring SP's down in certain professions so that *WE* can still keep our templates similar to what they are today (MM, MD, MP, Crafting line BE)

True, but points made correctly work, 95% of everything in the posts Forum wide are all overreacting persons, and it's not helping. But I guess it'shuman nature too... Someone moved their cheeze.

Not to meantion that this is a far larger fix then 100% crafting. But your right, we may tilt the balance, but SOE is going to do what they feel is better for the long run of the game. And considering they know what the long term goals are...we will see

Well I'm surprised to hear such cynicism from you, you sure listening to us all moan isn't jading you?
Seriously though of course we have a say, that is why the Devs ask for feed back, now if we don't have enough of the picture to give valid feedback then they will take what we say on board with that caveat in mind. Doesn't seem the most efficent way to do it, but, occationally it's the best can be done I guess.
I agree there are lots of posts that go OTT, but the way this has been communicated was always going to cause grumbles. Sometimes SOE just slip up that way and this kind of thingis, by and large, a limitation of writen communication. By all means tell people when they are over reacting, but ""B!tch, Scream Nerf" is exaggerating a little, agitated concern certainly but I don't think that kind of extreme reaction is in the asendency. I see the threads started by MasterNerfSlayer for feed back as being a lot more muted than I have come to expect from the SOE forums, they've certainly not decended into flames for a start.. The real post and run flame threads haven't done half as well.
've said it many times now but I will say it again. The amount of information we have about *our profession*, is not enough to start freaking out. I agree, it's the information vacuum that is generating the unrest.
We don't have enough information, We don't have a post by *ANYONE* asking "What would you like to replace the crafting blocks?",
Sorry, I do have to disagree there, we've had a couple, I even posted one.

The real problem is as ever, in an information vaccum these threads can only go so far, that said I do believe they have plenty of nice ideas; short threads aren't necessarily unproductive.
We don't have any guidance other than what you posted "Doctors will need to use the character respec to redefine their skill set, but that playstyle is preserved." Which to me says *Skill points are changing, your "Grand role" will no longer be the same, but your playstyle can remain the same.....IF you feel like going that route.*
Yes, but I posted that to point out there was some information implying one likely change. I thought it was important enough to mention in case people missed it, as it would at least give a little more direction to the on going debate. Afterall one of the big questions going round is "will BE take over meds?" Well TH imlies that this will be the case here.

Indeed, but bearing in mind the points cost changes already indicated, this at least gives people a clue as to what they will have to play with, if BE is a requirement in med crafting, and depending on how far up the tree you need to go. Basically we have a sketch but the more details we gather together the more direction we can give to the discussion. TH asked for good questions to answer, well for me, we can ask better questions if we have a context to frame them in.
The new system will bring everything into balance, meaning it could possibly bring SP's down in certain professions so that *WE* can still keep our templates similar to what they are today (MM, MD, MP, Crafting line BE)
Exactly, dn't get me wrong I do appreciate what you are saying, it just seems appropriate to me to try and focus on what we do have, it's not much but it will hopefully supress "Doc is worthless" posts, that we both agree are a an unconstructive distraction.

Ugg...I confess....Trying to explain to people every 5 seconds that we don't have enough informationto have 500+ posts of moaning is getting to me.
LOL, I know, I'll try not to exacerbate it by adding to the moaning .
I'm trying hard to just stay on point with all of the posts, but yeah its a little hard sometimes.
Actually I thought you made the point well, several times, it may be repetetive but I do think it sinks in. Even I'm a lot calmer after reading your and others, wait and see posts.
Other than that your exactly correct, we have threads about Skill block compensation, and other things like that. But what I meant is there hasn't been any forward movement from the Devs or the Corrs to really see if its going anywhere.
*nod* I know, which is why I'm hoping the next bit of info comes sooner rather than later, cause we both know the arguments are going to get even more threadbare and repetetive as the days go on. It's slow torture by message board right now.
There is to much that we don't currently know to really offer any reliable feedback about threads like that.
Maddening isn't it?
