2 products use avian meat - they are: Nutrient Injection Enhancer and Endorphine Injection Enhancer (Dath only)
I suspect that I am a little luckier than some in that Flurry had an excellent spawn of Dath avian a couple days before the CU documents were published, so I have 2-3 stacks of really nice Dath avian to use on this new product. The real question is are the products (all of them other than stims) going to be worth producing as a business.
The Nutrient Injection Enhancer requires (assuming 150cpu for avian, and 3cpu for all machine harvestables):
125 Avian @ 150cpu = 18750
100 Reactive @ 3cpu = 300
7aSDS (32 units per) @ 3cpu = 672
7aDM (50 units per) @ 3cpu = 1050
7aIA (56 units per) @ 3cpu = 1176
For a total resource cost of 21948 per pack. I know that I will be likely to not sell them for less than 50k per pack (likely 70-80k to maintain profit margin). In my opinion, the product will have to provide significant improvement to the user to justify that kind of cost (even if there are 40-50 charges per pack - which is not known at this time).
The Endorphine Injection Enhancer is only slightly better:
75 Dath Avian @150cpu = 11250
125 Methane Reactive @3cpu = 375
8aDM (50 units per) @3cpu = 1200
8aRC (48 units per) @3cpu = 1152
8aIA (56 units per) @3cpu = 1344
For a total resource cost of 15321 per pack.
You must also keep in mind that my cost for machine harvestables (3cpu) is not typically held on these forums. If you advance that assumption to 8cpu, the resource costs go to 27278 for the Nutrient Injection Enhancer and 22106 for the Endorphine Injection Enhancer.
In order for my prices to come down, my costs must come down. The only meaningful way for that to happen is if I can convince hunters to collect avian for less than 150cpu. I have tried in the past and did not get much success (even after the solo-groups went away). Perhaps with the enhanced difficulty in the field, people will look at 50cpu for avian meat as a sufficient augmentation to their normal mission payouts, but I have serious doubts about that.
