But think about how cool that is! It's like a magic power that we have -- we can create a line of people instantly!

Just try it when you're bored sometime. Heh. It's just too bad there's no doctor skill that lets us vanish in a puff of smoke...

Hmm. Could we get that in the combat revamp?

hehe... now THAT would be a handy skill... of course, I'd probably still screw it up and after the smoke fades I'd still be trying to put my uncooperative droid back into the datapad.

If I'm buffing in or anywhere near a staroport I have a ticket purchased. If I get griefed I do two things, reply as coolly as I can and ignore them. For dramatic exits I do this.

"Sorry XXXX has started to grief/hassle me, I am no longer buffing anyone."

/tellpet store

/board transport

I simply disappear to everyone and load in at my destination. I keep any griefers creds and email back the payments from the innocents, apologizing for the inconvenience.

Sorry to hear that, man.

Don't take people's junk- you're doing something wonderful for them, but yet they treat you like garbage.

There are a lot of immature morons in this game, but just as many who treat other people with respect and dignity. Ignore the children, relish in the adults.

This phenomenon is indeed disturbing, though...I encountered the same thing on Starsider server. I buffed a friend in front of Coronet Starport. In the off chance someone sent me a /tell asking for a buff, I simply put in the AFK message "no hablo ingles" which usually discourages anyone who tries to mess with me.

Well, someone sends me a /tell - just as I finish buffing my friend, and then proceeds to ask me for a buff in spanish, which I rather enjoyed. So, I talked to them in Spanish for awhile, and buffed 'em. Well, I then got about 4 /tells, all asking for buffs, all getting the AFK response "no hablo ingles." I never once responded that I would buff anyone. I never barked I was buffing. So, logically, what did everyone do? LINE UP. For buffs that weren't coming. I didn't have enough buffpacks to public buff Coronet, and I never announced I was buffed, nor confirmed with anyone I would buff them.

WHY do people just line up for buffs without even asking a Doctor if they're buffing? It's rude. In a matter of SECONDS, I kid you not, freakin' SECONDS I had a line of 20 people. It was stupid. I got done with the Spanish-speaking guy and stored my droid and ran away. Not one of them ever got a confirmation I was buffing, I never said I was, and I shouldn't *have* to just because I buff a couple people near the Starport.

I hate how buff greedy people in this game are now. It's absolutely ridiculous.

dude.... there is an easy solution to the butt heads that wanna cause trouble in your lines and /tell you that your prices are too high and that you're a corrupt doctor for letting your guildeys skip your line.

here's the easy steps

1.) recieve hate /tell or hate /howl about your prices/your skills/your long line

2.) /addignore <name>

3.) /tip <amt given for buff> back to <name>

4.) /smile

now.. one day when you're the only doc around and <name> can't get your attention.. he'll be sorry.

Yeah, I'm going to do that! The next shmo who starts griefing me for whatever reason will get the following Spatial message spammed from me at the front of the line:

"Thanks to PlayerName's childish antics, I will do no further buffing. Everyone thank him/her for wasting your time and mine. This decision is final.Everyone thank PlayerName for not getting a buff. All appropriate refunds have been sent to those who deserve them. This is a recording."

I figure that'll get the person to figure out that acting like a **edit** will get them NOWHERE in this game.

As for the lines, yeah, it's kinda funny...but very sad we can't even stand around without people getting in a big line in front of us and expecting something of us. Disappearing into a cloud of smoke would be sweet, though.

oh dont worry about it my friend...

i ve been even griefed for not having buff packs on me, not skiping line for large sums, even once for having a huge line around me... i mean comon there ARE zounds of people around me quite visible clearly even from the planets orbit, guy comes, tips and asks "whats my line???"... i say you re 15th/20th or whatever... and the griefing starts... sheesh i was not hiding these guys in my underwear...
anyways do not worry, there are people like that out there and there will always be... dont let these ruin your day and your gaming fun...
i usually tip their money back with a message, "heres your money, i refuse to buff you... if you resend the money, i ll keep it and wont buff you neither... move along..."

/cheer up
/say next is *kindlywaitingpatientplayername*
/say now buffing 1/6

I'm a relatively new doc so am just learning about the hassles and difficulties of being a doc. So i buff myself in Coronet starport before heading out after server reset (not the smartest place to buff maybe). Someone comes up and asks for a buff so i think sure, ive used bivoli so i might as well.

Anyway a huge line forms and halfway through i run out of bivoli, i thought i had a crate somewhere but its not on me. doh! so i apolgise to people and explain that i'll buff them still if they like for less but the stats will be lower.

This is when the trouble begins and i get 2 guys Ezzaa and sidekick VVENOM shouting and swearing at me, calling me a bad doctor and demanding free buffs (they were right at the back of the queue). Then they challenged to a duel! I'm just a doc!!...

Anyway, needless to say i will try and make sure i don't run out of bivoli again...

Thanks to Pinheads for rescuing me by handing me some bivoli - good lad

Well I hope you didn't buff them! I would have addignored both of them and told them why I was doing it in spatial. If they got too disruptive I would thentell the rest of the line that they are interfering with your ability to buff and ask that everyone pleasereport them. Usually the rest of the people in line will become irate and gang up on them. Too bad they can't wield virtual pitchforks and torches. I also have a network of other doctors and guilds that I report jerks like that to. They usually endup being denied service from a lot more doctors than just me.

You should try to have some fun with your line in a situation like this...
Right after the chef change, before chefs had figured out that havla was useful and wouldn't make it, I used to announce that anyone who brought me +100 or better havla could skip the line. Almost always worked -- chef alts would appear out of nowhere...
No reason you can't do the same thing with bivoli, even if the effect isn't as entertaining for the people waiting in line...

I have fun with the lines I refuse to buff Jedi and from time to time will run "specials" where master bounty hunters flying the title will get a 50% discount whoo boy you get some interesting conversations as a result of those two things..

And a lot of happy master bounty hunters

Its funny how you can provide 8k buffs, yet people in line waitnig for 15k buffs that are really worse than the ones i give don't switch lines. This happened to me today in cnet, found it very entertaining. Being a doc is awesome, having the power!!! As long as people get their buffs i find they are satisfied, and will even to crazy things to get them, messing with my customers is what I do best.
