Thread: Don't want to take artisan just for survey/sample? Read this.

I agree with the poster. If they require us to have soooooo many components for our stimpacks, they should give us the ability to find them! Medical forage is either broken or it's a joke, just change it for basic survey skill (like what you get at novice I don't care), so I don't have to spend 15!!! skill points to find what I require. Why do we have artisan's requirements if we don't have themeans to fulfill them?

Yeah, the whole "player based economy" thing isn't the panecea the devs thought it would be.
Until we can buy Lokian wheat and Dantoine berries, (and good fungus for CM's) then doc's need some way to get the stuff themselves. Make medical forage, medical survey, and make it half as effective (per level) as artisan's survey. It's the right thing to do.

Oh, btw, did anyone else see that those "stims" the Creature-Handlers are going to get also cure MIND?
That's right people, one class in SWG can cure mind. (pet only of course, but still).
Not only don't they have to take a 15 point skill, but they can do something that the rest of us (who did take a 15 point skill) can't do.

Just something to think about.

I just think someone important in the SWG dev. department is a Pokemen fan, gotta be that. Otherwise, I don't see how they insisted so much in the immersion of 'there will only be like 3 jedis per server' yet you see people walking around towns with a rancor walking happily behind them...

Ehhh started a thread on the discussion forum called "Pet Only Heals". Can you imagine... I'm getting hammered and called a whiner. I never would have guessed LOL.

Yea CH healers? come on that is why i picked doctor in the first place so that i can heal everyone and my pets. Now eveyrone can heal my pets? This is just crazy.... I am wasting 15 skill points just to use survey/sample because medical forage is a joke. They need to turn medical forage into survey/sample. What is so wrong with a master of doctor meds being able to survey/sample the land for materials?

You don't need artisan skills to get your own resources - buy a harvestor and hire/ask a surveyor to scout out a good spot for you. There's so many people around with survey 4 it should be easy to find someone. Then setup yourharvestor there and you're good to go.Assuming resources aren't buggy and cycling too much, this should last you a while.


However, I agree that medical forage is completely idiotic and should be improved.

And then get them to go to Lok, Datoonie, Tat, Talus, and where ever Class 4 liquid petrol and Dolovite Iron happens to be. And that's just for Doctor. Look at all the materials needed by CMs. Yeah that makes sense. Why is it always okay for some other class to be able to do their jobs without anyone else but it's not okay for the medical field? Now that CHswill be able toheal their own pets with out medic skills they don't need anyone. Just like all those one branch artisan trees.And don't even suggest buying stuff on the bazaar. When was the lsat time you saw a really good flora on the bazaar? Probably few and far between. Why? Other then maybe chefs and smugglers who else needs them but us?

A lot of the loudest of the beda medic types are retired.. playing other professions... many of them burned out.

There weren't very many of us in beta. For a long time in beta 3, there were no black wounds to speak of, and there were no cloning wounds until the end of beta. You should have seen all the clueless bleating in the general beta forum when cloning wounds were introduced ... there were so few doctors aroundthat nobody would believe several hundred wound points could be healed at a time.

I have to agree. Doctor/Medics seem to be the quit group so they get overlooked. ONLY healing classes (Docs/Meds/ComMeds) should be able to heal. CH handlers have no business healing their own pets...might as well make a new profession and call them veterinarians than. Its hard enough to make any money as it is..now they wave the nerf bat at us again....

We weren't THAT quiet in Beta. We were, and are still, just too small a player group. There are far more Marksmen and Artisans out there, so their issues will likely garner more attention than ours, IMHO. We'll just have to see if this correspondence thing actually proves to be fruitful in any way.

What do you mean they removed CH needing medic to heal? So now CHers can make stims and heal?


I am sorta confused...is there a patch message with this in it?
