Thread: making Doc useful again

I personally do get tired of all of these Doc dabblers. Almost EVERYONE who is good at PVP is a doc dabbler. I Mastered Doc, what was once a genuine profession, and now everyone has some, but not master. It isn't even worth being a Master Doctor anymore. I think something really needs to be done, like spreading out the healing speed and efficiency over different doc trees. For those that want to use healing in the field, but not really work at the doctor profession, they should use medic.

there will be adjustments to the healing in the next patch making master doc heals (advanced versions) better than doc 4000 (improved versions) and medic (standard versions) heals. also MCM's won't heal as much as master docs using batca shot or jab (the same reduction will hit master docs using CM heals).

i still wait for the re-establishing of posion and diseases with creatures (and the fix of diseases). this will give back use to 2 of my skill trees (x44x) which are currently useless (beside PvP-ing a CM).

Went MDoc the day CU hit, still love it now, still the most useful member of just about any team I'm in (Not trying to be big-headed, just going by what people say to me every group I go out with.). I'll admit I play the kind of role I'd always thought of as Combat Medic, ie in the field keeping my team alive under fire, but then I'd never seen combat medic as being a role that included chemical warfare, if CM's an offensive profession then it makes sense for Doc to be a pure healing profession in the field as something different.

To all the people who are talking about using Doc to make money, especially compared to entertainers, wise up, a cover-charge for wound-healing??? What you really wanna spend your day AFK wound-healing in Dant MO? Ah now we get to the crux of the matter, you DO want a source of steady AFK money coming in, well yeah it'd be nice if my bank balance constantly grew in game without me doing anything but if you're struggling to make money in the game at the moment then you're doing something seriously wrong, the game's awash with cash right now.

good post.. but many of the vet docs like myself spent hours in the MOP buffing.. was nice change from the fighting and got to meet a ton of players that became long time ingame friends that i still see.. was not a bad deal at all. any other thought?

"When Sony and Lucas set out, we said, 'How can we do this and not make another EQ?' We didn't want it to be all about Luke, or combat, or lock our players into a class. So we created a system that would allow players to switch professions during the game, and there would be a lot of gameplay around making that change. If you want to go from architect to scout we've created a system to make that happen." - JULIO TORRES
