As I was in work while posting and could not remember the correct time off the head.
My point was, If you have wounds of more than a hundred, Its not even worth asking a Doc unless your prepared to wait and the thing is, People that are grinding (understandably) do not want to wait they want to crack on.

Aaahhh... i understand... i concur with you openion... wound healing is to slow.

"Could you please repeat that? You want a what? A Buff? Yes i am a Master Doctor, but you want me to apply a buff, are you sure?" - Serf being surprised that someone wanted a buff.
"Now follow my directions: Follow me, then..... hey what are you doing stop, stop *UGLY BLASTER SOUND* dammit i told you to follow me, not to run into that room with that large turret" - Serf to eager guildmate in the warren.
"Why are you looking at me?, im not here, really im not, this rifle is just a fake, i promise" - Serf to angry Ancient Krayt Dragon.
"Muhahaha im indestructable" *BOOM* - Serf realising that his trainer TIE might not be able to take on tier 2 enemies.

Not quite. AutoDocs still throw a monkey wrench in the equation, since Docs still are a combat class. A silly example:

Kirk ( brawler ), Spock ( TKA ), McCoy ( Doc ), and Chapel (Doc)are all the same level, all have the same XP, alllog in at the same time.

Kirk, Spock, and McCoy group up for an adventure. Every one participates evenly, and they each receive the same XP. They average killing one foe every ten minutes, and the foe gives them5000 XP. As a result, they accumulate90,000 XPover the course of three hours. Chapel stays at a Med Center for those three hours, healing wounds at a rate of 100 XP / minute ( busy girl, she is ), netting her 18,000 XP for the three hours.

Kirk and Spock now log off with 100K, since they really can't macro for additional EXP or items. McCoy, however, goes to the Med Center, where he uses his Auto-Wound-Heal macro, healing wounds at a rate of 10 XP / minute ( much lazier than Chapel, but probably has to do with peak hours are now over ) for the next twenty hours. As a result, he accumulates an additional 12,000 XP for AFK healing.

The next day, they all again log in at the same time, and compare notes. Chapel is understandably upset that McCoy -- with the same amount of ATK play time -- accumulated 102K of EXP compared to her "paltry" 18K for staying in the med center, and that Kirk and Spock also out-gained her by significant amounts. Kirk and Spock are also a little miffed that they received 90K but McCoy received 102K for the same amount of ATK play time.

So, of course, flames are written, stinks are made, and the developers are made aware of the unfair situation. The developers can:

  • Increase the amount of XP gained for medical center wound healing, but this would just further advantage AFK docs over other combatant classes.

  • Stop macros from looping, leaving lucrative XP gains for people with third-party macro systems ( technically against EULA, but *very* difficult to enforce ), and a lot of angry players who are used to having looping macros.

  • Go back to a no-combat-EXP-outside-of-combat policy, which is what we have today. Chapel will either get over it and go adventuring, or /respec to something else.

  • Come up with a more complicated solution, that dilutes or negates the ability of AFK docs to gain EXP.

It's a complicated problem because of AFK issues and combat classes. I proposed a lengthy resolution, but it's probably unlikely to even be found or read by the devs, much less implemented. Still, here's a link for your reading.

Interesting take on things but way off on the numbers. The average 3 man team, from my experience, can plow through an entire Nest in @10-15 mins (and thats on the long end). Most nests seem to produce8-12 creatures before it is exhausted. This would give a rough estimate of 10 creatures per mission at 5k per creature = 50k per mission. Of course things can get a little hairy and you can miss the odd creature so I find xp to be @40-45k per mission. With travel time, rezzing, and insults/witty banter we usually finish all6 missions in under 2 hours. What does that give you? 240k for 2 hours work. If you feel like going for round 2 you can double it up to 480k for an evening.

And this is a conservative estimate with a fairly small, unambitious group.

The 12k for AFK is nothing. It can be made up twice over by a sinsgle solo mission. This is how it should be.

Xp for wound healing is not a replacement for grinding. It can't be. Even getting 1xp/2 wounds healed would give the pacifist Docs a hope of mastering their class and the rest of us a reason to be in the med center. We would be making progress. Slow progress, but progress nonetheless.
