Thread: I Don't think CU will be as bad as we thought....
Greedy!

You didn't read the post, the cheerleading comment was directed at DarksFallen, as it was in the post before the one you responded to.
The end of my comment was made at all those who ARE being cheerleaders, those who have been running around the boards since the beginning saying how great the CU is because finally doctors will have purpose again. It's directed at those who call doctors like you and I, (crafters), greedyand that the fact we're losing millions is okay because we deserve it because we dare to disgrace the noble profession of doctor by daring to craft instead of heal...

I hate the new CU, it wil make everyone a master doc, and everyone will be buffing each other, master docs will lose money. i hate the bio engineer part too because only medics and doc need to craft medicine. they really need to change the update a lot!
cry me a river, changes are for the better of the game not cuz of players that just went doc to get rich.

So it's like I said. The devs intentionally release the resource kits, knowing we'd spend millions on them and use them for avian meat, then they take avian meat out of the schematics for med crafting...
Anyone who bought a bunch of 30k Resource Deedsfor millions and then went right out an converted all of 'em to "the best" Avian meat on their server is a grade AA moron. Did they ever stop toconsider that "the best" avian meat hadn't even spawned on their server yet?? LOL

You're obviously a true rocket scientist to have come to such a conclusion...
The best avian on Eclipse was nearly perfect in both points, enough so that waiting around for the spawn that never happened, (according to your genius statement), wasn't worth the clear cut benefits of crafting with the good stuff now.

Ok, I have went through as much as I can of the skill trees.. And yes there are alot of changes, but I feel that the resources we all that horded will come to good use.. All of our componets are there like before, just the finished product has a differnt name and purpose,
As far as Med Crafting Clothing is concerned, It will still count for something, because as you go up theMedic & BE tree in crafting it is a Mod that is givin.
Yes you will need to go BE to be able to continue crafting.. But there is a plus side to that.. You only have to do the one tree.. After looking at the master box in BE there is nothing granted for the med part so there is no need to master..
So I feel much better knowing that after CU my resources and clothing will still play apart of the game, And I will have new items to craft rather then the same old.. Gives the game a new spice..
Myself Being the largest med supplier on my server was just as worried as all of you.. I can officially take a deep breath and have a great sigh of relief.
So what is avian meat used for?

You're right. It would've been pure genius to buy 15-20 resource deeds, convert all of them to Pisro, then sit back and expect the resource to be exactly what you paid for it 3, 6, or 9 months later.

I greatly enjoy crafting as a MD/Master Fencer. Gives me something to do when I'm roleplaying and otherwise NOT HACKING AT THINGS MINDLESSLY. That has been taken away from me.
I really dislike that Doctor is being defined solely in terms of what it does for combat support.

Well I for one didn't convert ALL of them, I converted as needed, however OTHERS bought and converted, being stupid enough to put them on their resource vendor in the hopes of actually selling them... Those hopes are pretty well dashed now, (at least selling at the same price), so they're left with a commodity no longer worth nearly as much as it used to be.
However to convert something to something rare without anticipating a massive restructure of every single part of the game which makes your resource worthless was something every doctor should have anticipated, even those who don't read the forums... You're right, what were they thinking? Who could expect it to be business as usual???
However let's forget about the supposed wisdom of when to buy and how much to convert, the true point is the resource kits were released knowing what they would be used for, and now those resources aren't worth as much. Crafting docs, (and resource gatherers), are losing a ton, and this doesn't strike ANYONE as being even just the least bit questionable?
Ah well, maybe I'm just a little too cynical...

Yes, however I think you would agree that just the existence of the resource kits (regardless of what resource they were used for) did initially bring down the value ofall rare resources... for example, on Bria, the average price for a resource kit is/was 5mil... which is 166cpu. So regardless of what "rare" resource you held, it's max value was set at 166cpu, because if you charged more, I'd just go out and buy some res kits instead.
I agree that people banking on being able to sell avian meat at 250cpu (a common price6 months ago on Bria) got screwed. However, as a crafting doc, prior to the Res kits, the only opportunity to buy what people thought was "the best" avian would've cost me 500cpu. Now it costs me 166cpu.
Incidentally, I do happen to agree that the timing of the Kits, and the nerfing of Buffs does seem to be questionable. I think that regardless of how itwill beaccomplished (i.e., capping resource valuesor just completely devaluing them), the undelying goal of curtailing inflation in game will be accomplished by the Devs... like it or not.

On these I couldn't agree more...
However I'll still argue with you that players who bought resource kits and converted them to avian are NOT AA morons...highly naive perhaps, WAY to trusting of the verse they play in, but that's about it...
