I've actually answered that way a few times

I really don't mind being asked if I'm buying avian meat, because i always am. And the 'are you buffing?' question is annoying, but legitimate too. The other players want buffs AND to get on with their game, so i can understand why they would ask, but hearing it so many times a day does get on your nerves.

What we need is a portable sign post we can drop beside us anywhere that reads

"MASTER DOCTOR - NOW BUFFING"

And have people click on it to take a number.

"now serving number 6"

Some people are just way more trouble than their worth. I need a disclaimer that states my buff set prices are dynamic depending upon my level of annoyance.

Mr. Fun: Buff me plz.

Me: Sure thing. It's 10k for the set. Have a seat, I'll let you know when it's your turn, and you can tip me then.

Mr. Fun: Can you hurry plz, my friends are waiting on Yavin.

Me: I'm moving as fast as I can. I'll get to you as soon as I'm done with the 3 people ahead of you.

Mr. Fun: /tip 10000

Me: /tip 10000

Me: Please wait 'till your turn to tip. I've got a habit of losing tips

Mr. Fun: Am I up yet? (*editor's note - it's been about 25 seconds since I told him he was 4th in line)

Me: not yet

Mr. Fun: will you come to Yavin with me to buff my friends? You're taking a long time

Me: ..............

Mr. Fun: /tip 10000

Me: /tip 10000

Mr. Fun: **edit**! Don't you want my $?

Me: /shush Mr. Fun

Mr. Fun: (after a full 1.5 minutes of silence) Am I up yet?!

Me: Your turn. Please tip 70,000 and I'll get started

Mr. Fun might have been the same guy who, after I had put away my droid, turned off my tag, announced I was out of packs and done buffing, proceeded to hop on his speeder and follow me 3.5k to my house demanding buffs. Boy was I happy I keep the door locked. Keeps out the freaks and weirdos.

Not directly related to any of these questions, but while I was outside or Coronet, in my old city, I recieved a tell asking if I could rez. I replied, "No", as I couldn't(was wearing Novice Doctor tag at the time). I did a /who to see if they were around, and sure enough, there they were Joe Blow the Human Master Doctor. The Gods winced.

My addition to the list:

Context: I'm buffing and there is a group sitting around me waiting their turn. I see a player approach the group and comment that they need to reset their buffs; they arrange with another player to duel and deathblow them. After they are down, I get this /tell from them:

"Res me quick, before time runs out."

*blink*
No invite to group first? No consent offered? No asking to see if I even have a Res Kit?

I've heard all of those as a doc. I agree with most, but the first one. If you are wearing your Master Doctor tag expect to be asked if you will buff. If you don't want to be asked this then take off your tag... Also, I hope you at least respond and say no. I started a new character on Bria, and most of the Master Doctors don't even respond to me. Talk about being rude.

Probably the most annoying thing I have heard was something like this:

"Hi, can you buff me?" (this is a returning customer)

"Sure, I'm by the mining outpost on Dantooine."

"I'm in wayfar on Tatooine. How long until you get here?"

"Uh no, I can't travel their, you'll have to find someone else. Sorry."

Surprisingly, I've had that happen a few times. I don't mind buffing people for a little extra cash, but I'm not going to travel half way across the galaxy.

A close second is definately the guy who needs all 1-10 of his wounds healed asap.

4) Can you heal my wounds?
(This I dont mind at all, unless of course this person has like 1 wound in every stat. Thats a major waste for us when you could just sit in the medical center for a minute to get that cleared up)

LOL thats like asking a master smuggler to open a locked container.

I askfor money alot(look at trade on ecplise and bloodfin)

Heh when i play my char on Ecplise(master smuggler) i change my title to novice smuggler so i don't get a tell spam. It works too some times...every so often people ask me if i wanna buy there locked containers for outragous prices......

P.S. Need help with my doc on bloodfin

What is wrong with you people. When you wear the Doctor Tag, surprise - people think your a doctor. Imagine that. These are the standard questions people ask doctors. Instead of getting annoyed with them, learn to deal with them.

for example:

We know that people keep asking if we're buffing. So instead of getting annoyed with it, learn to deal with it better. We also know that if we say yes to this question, the next question will probably be "how much?", "What are the stats?", or "What is your location?". Experience has shown this to be the case.

So lets deal with it. set up a macro that answers all the questions with a click of one function key...

/r yes, I am buffing. I am standing in front of the starport at location (1234 -1234). I charge 10k for a set of buffs with 2300 to 2400 power and 2.5to 3 hours duration.

note that this macro will answer 5 questions at once, and if you drag it to your toolbar, it will take only a fraction of a second to reply to a tell.

The questions aren't going to go away by getting annoyed with them. The only thing we can do is to learn to be more effective in dealing with our position as docs. Macros are designed to help us deal with the more mundane aspects of our job. It's up to us to make the most of the tools we are given.
