Thread: Debuffs anyone?

If debuff packs where introduced into the game they should go to a Master Combat Medic. The reasoning is that Doctors are counters to Combat Medics. Therefore its only natural that a Combat Medic should be the debuffer to counter the Doctor Buffs.

Screw debuff packs, make bleeds debuffs since they're completely useless right now but everyone has them.

In fact, click here for a good civilised discussion on buffs from the GCW forum a while back

The idea has merit.

I would add though (or agree with other posters) that it should go to Combat Medics and not Doctors - it fits more into their class design and description.

However, I'd also say that something like this would be too powerful without 2 things; a short timer and a counter to it's effect.

1. A debuff would have the same timer as current poisons (maybe slightly longer)

2. Doctors would also get a new 'Remove Debuff' heal that would act as a counter - similar to having a cure poison ability.

Many good points made. I disagree with the CM getting these though but then again I disagree with the whole CM profession IMO they should just get rid of it and roll all those things into one Healing profession. But that's a whole other discussion we won't get into.

If that were to ever come to pass then they should be as difficult to make as buff packs are. They should require named resources plus meat. You also should have to have a medical droid out, be in range, etc....

I was thinking along those lines as well as maybe requiring a component craftable only by a master bio-engineer. That would gate the flood of debuffs a little.

Good idea, it would be nice to not have to wait for buffs to go.
