This is another of those situations where interdependence is the key issue. The main thrust of the argument seems to be that you want things to be easier for you - well they can be, without changing the current game system. Travin has it right. Find the rangers on your server. Rangers don't get enough love, but doctors and anyone else who is in the market for meats and hides should love them. Develop a relationship with them, set up contracts, then don't worry about hunting for your own meat - the meats will come rolling in.

If it happens that at a certain point the only good avian meat is on Tatooine, where only nunas drop it, then won't you be happy that you contracted your rangers for all that Corellian avian meat that was so good during the last shift? You'll be able to ride it out until another good avian meat shows.

Well, if nothing else, I do consider this a part of the Medical Resources issue that I've been trying to work with the Devs on, so they can understand our pain when it comes to dealing with resources needs, the high prices of those resources and our general lack of making money in anywhere near the same levels as most other professions do. Maybe relaxation on the type of meat required or something, Who knows. We'll see, I guess.

I live on Talus, and I don't have a problem getting meat when its around. There are more creatures that drop avian then vynocks and rasps. Your just not looking hard enough.

So then what else is there? All I know of are fynocks, rasps, and devil gulginaws. (However, I've never actually SEEN a devil gulginaw, but I've been told they exist.)

Thanks MyT, that is very useful information. The avian meat on Bloodfin right now is best on Rori and it is unfortunate you can't spawn these missions

Guys, for most of the rest of the people on this post, we realize that you can get larget yields of avian meat from other planets and other mobs. However the point is when the resource shift forces you to go to a low yield planet like Tatooine or Rori the pain starts then. It would be really great if they introduced more creatures that had more realistic resources and higher level creatures of the same types that would drop higher counts of creatures. We still aren't asking for it to be handed to us, just give us the chance to try to go out and collect it instead of giving up like I do when the best avian meat is on Rori or Tatooine.

Get in touch with a Ranger, trust me, as a former master ranger and current doc, they rely on that business. They can get a lot of meat off the bone.

BUT PLEASE

Don't ask for like 20k meat from a ranger, thats a tall order.

Rangers don't have harvestors.

Here's a good formula. Take the amount of time you would expect to get 20k of fiberplast and multiply it by 6.

That's how much harder it is to get 20k avian meat than it is to get 20k fiberplast

The sarcity of the resource keeps the price of enhance packs up, and it gives ranger/scouts and newbies with novice scout a market for thisresource. There are many many ways to get this stuff, I telled a guy in Theed last night, he was killing Nunna's for XP, and I telled him "I hope you are harvesting that". The guy had NO idea that there was such a demand for the stuff. Educate the masses.. it helps.

Personally I like it when things are a little hard and I am forced to be creative in how I gather my resources ie, offer to buy it from others, get others to hunt for me, drop harvesters etc.. I pay up to 25cpu MAX and while other pay more, I do manage to get a nice neat little pile of meat.

So no increasing meat drops for birds is not the way to go, no sense in messing with things IMO. Personally I would like to see us get animal harvesting and/or surveying skills- but again that's just me.

So let me see if I understand this position:

1) You don't want avian to be more readily available becuase it will affect buff prices, which will negatively impact you.

2) You want to be able to harvest without scout, which will positively impact you.

Hmm...for once, I think I agree with cry4dawn. There should be large avian mobs on endor/dath/dantooine/yavin. And yes, I know there are things you can kill on yavin and dant for avian, but none of them drop >40 per kill. If the scarcity goes down, I agree that the cost will drop...but so will the cost of making the packs. Right now, it's just too painful to get avian.

See what makes this not an avialability issue.. is that there is ALWAYs avian meat avialable on all planets.. (not like dolovite iron for example).

You can always get some. Indeed, if you stay on the higher meat planets, you can always get a lot. The stats may just be bad.

There is a difference between, "we can't get any avian meat" ( becasue of price, or lack of people harvesting it etc.), and "we can't get the avian meat we want."
