I never understood why people go AFK healing, if you pay $15 a month don't you think you'll want to be there through it? I made Master Doc while at the computer the entire time, I never made a macro (except a shouting macro when buffing) and I made some friends along the way.

I spent a very large amount of my grind doc in the Cnet Hospital. I used a tumbler maybe once or twice near the end because I just wanted it done at that point. I mainly healed wounds there and was tipped once and while which was fine by me. Just enough to buy some more packs or make some. But I just followed fellow guild members into combat and looked after them. Was able to go in medic/doc faster that way then staying infront of a tumbler.

But now I don't heal my own wounds I go to hospital and wait for someone to heal my wounds. Take about 30 min for it to happen tho. But I always tip them 10k for healing me up. I know all to well how tought and $$ it can be starting up as a medic/doc without much money in the old bank.

It's good that you did it that way, but I'm pointing out that its d3efinately faster to heal tumblers... With a bunch of stims (some ddue gave me 3 crate sof crappy Cs, 40 uses each, 40 in each crate) and healing once every 5 or 6 seconds you get much more xp/second

and that is why somethin needs to be changed...after I master Doc

I've only recently made a doc character, and for a long time before that, I played combat characters of one sort or another. I guess it is a really sad state of affairs when I decided to make a Doc alt for the sake of healing my poor pilot whenever she crashed, thanks to the fact that the 5-10 people ALWAYS in the Med center weren't ever actually there... (and yeah, I went MD just for wound heals, after all, why only go halfway). Nowadays, whenever I go through C-Net (my most oft visited major city) I check the center for sick people, and usually in about 30 min or so about 10 customers pass through during the rush times.

Anyways, i ramble on....

I think one of the problems isn't just the fact that medics AFK heal tumblers and such, but there aren't as many patients as there used to be. When I was going up Doc last year, many times there were too many patients to heal... I've never seen it happen like that recently, even in Cnet. Not sure what to blame for that... pocket docs, growth in TKM population, docs that heal at the SP, etc... So, since there are few patients, the medics are forced to seek out other means of gaining XP, which spirals down into AFK healing in the long run.

Yeah a few months ago i'd go into the med center and i'd have to wait in line to be healed becasue of all the other people that had wounds... now i'm doc, one person coems in every 10 minutes

I actually have recently started going to the CNet starport and healing people as they log in from space. Since JTL, people have been incurring a lot more wounds, and its not uncommon to find people with 700 wounds. Nowadays, people don't really feel the need to go to a med center, especially if they are planning to go right back to space. However, people do appreciate the effort, and I find that it actually makes just as much experience as fighting over public afk tumblers.

LOL thats the same thing I do. But I buff them if i find them in the med center regardless. They should take their tumbling elsewhere. I remember when medics and docs had to fight to heal wounds in the med centers.

That's a bloody good idea, I knew I had those extra quickness buffs for a reason ^_^ that being said on my way to Master Doctor I used a tumbler twice. Friends of mine in a camp for survival xp you see. Most of it was done healing entertainers in a group in the Cantina. Hooray for making friends!

Just keep in mind that some of these people can and will report you for harassment. Before higher buffs would cancel out lower ones, I would /report every Doctor wannabe that would run up and buff me without asking first. I never used a tumbler, and never cared either way really, but just be careful that you don't get yourself suspended for griefing. Because I know the exact excuse they will use, "I was just helping out a friend, it doesn't hurt anyone else".
