I want millions of credits in my wallet.
But yeah...everything except this statement is true. The current game relies far to much on buffs and armor.
If you a clever doctor the statement is true.
Not really...Some people play the profession because they like it.....not to make money.
I've been a doctor for 90% of my game time of the past (almost) 2 years.....and I have only broken 1 million maybe twice.
And that was because I sold non-doctor stuff (Pikes, Crystals, etc). There is far more to this profession them buffing, and while you can pull a profit from selling meds, the time investment is not worth it for my playstyle.
So no, it has nothing to do with being "Clever" and it has nothing to do with being a Doctor.
And it takes millions to get started in crafting. I am so sick of hearing how rich doctors are, sure many are, so are armorsmiths, weaponsmiths, architects etcbut in order to get to the "big bucks" you need to spend millions in resources and exp tapes. Then spendmonths of experimenting to get the best products, then spend months developing a customer base.
As for startport buffers, if you do not craft your own packs, the profit margin is not that great, as a combat elitedoing missions on a hard planet such as yavin you can make as much cash if not more than a doctor sitting in a starport waiting for customers.

I do agree that the uber buffs have hurt the game but I dont think reworking the entire doctor profession is the answer to this. I can agree on reworking limiting the strength of buffs and reworking specials. I personally like to craft, heal and run missions/hunt.Under the new system it seems like I will need another character in order to do all 3.
If they redo crafting so its more like chef thats not such a bad thing. It would make sense to need BE components for certain meds, but they have given us very little info and from what they have said it sounds like we wont be crafting at all (aside from the basic medic stuff).

Everything has to be brought in to balance though. Right now I can heal for 4000+ (action and health) Stuff like that will no longer be in balance. Poison and Diseases will be changing...again our cures will have to change.
I honestly don't know what some people were expecting. The entire game is changing, and us being healers, must then be changed. We are considered a combat profession regardless what our skills say to disprove that. With the exception that most people are mad about lossing the crafting line to Doctors (which could very well be put into the Medic line dispite the arguements suggesting otherwise). There really isn't much to get worked up about.
Healers are getting changed because the combat system is being changed...its really that simple. Weapons, Armor, Food....it's all being changed.
Just because what we thing is a good idea for changes, doesn't mean SOE does. They are the only one's that know what the whole scoop is, and therefore we have to take what we get, and hope for the best.
