Yes, same amount as buffing a player. It is an alternative to healing tumblers. Just as meaningless but I guess that is what SOE wants us to do.

We have had that argument 3 times because people think it is important. And I certainly don't think that you alone can determine what the "result" of those discussions were. That is just your opinion and nothing else. Not even an opinion that seems to be shared with majority.

Also, if you had read through the other discussions, you would have seen that we already dismissed the theory about buffing your own pet in the village. You will need at least Creature Management III to be able to call both your pet and your droid.

And you will see morethreads like this because most doctors (as far as I can tell) feel something needs to be done about the XP cap. It is seriously out of balance with combat professions. Yeah, there is a risk that the devs will just screw us again by making the conversion ratio worse. But when something is not fair, you need to voice your opinion and hope for the best.

Dude. u KNOW they wont raise the cap without some form of recompensations, They WILL lower the conversion rate and in effect, YOU PEOPLE will screw ALL doctors because you believe the devs will give something without keeping the balance. Get your head out of ur @22. Anyone who has been around for over a year knows how these things are done.

1-You lobby for an easier way to do 'HAM Transfers'

2-Devs now make it almost instant, 10 minute wait and then BOOM, you have ur transfer instead of it being over time

3-Now you MUST find an image designer of skill to transfer these points instead of being able to do it yourself.

This is just ONE example of people asking for soemthing and getting it, backhanded. Theres THOUSANDS of examples over the last year just like this.

Everyone wanted to have a qucik way to adjust themselves, the devs gave them the way, but made it gated.

Because the peole with the best ratios are the people who will have it hardest to get the xp.

Doctors get the xp the fastest as much as i can tell, the ONLY reason i see for giving a dr a better ratio is b ecause of the low cap.

"Your telling me that because combat exp has a high cap they should have ahigher ratio?'

NO, because their problem is the difficulty in geting the straight combat xp.

man..... dr's are supposed to be educated, and those arguments werent just my opinoins saying this is a bad idea. in fact both or 3 of the other forums didnt have anyone posting in them except to say 'shut up, bad idea' or '/agree raise cap' and the ones saying shutup outnumbered the ones saying to raise it.

Agent, if you ask to have this raised and they screw with the ratio im going to put this post at the top of the forum for 3 months straight saying i told you so.

best case scenario is they leave it alone, its fine. You have a good conversion rate and its f-ing easy for you to get ur xp. TRY BEING A DANCER...

the problem with buffing a pet is that you just lose money doing it..why not just buff a player instead and on the side get a pet with really big ham..get him burned by a commando and heal his wounds..i use to get 1500xp+ a heal and its much more inexpensive

we JUST had this argument (3 times now.....) The result was this. Play the game, go up in whatever xp you want to convert. If your a jedi grinder anyways and a master dr. all you have to do is buy a non ch pet, pull it out, buff the hell out of it, put it away and repeat until you cap. YOU NEVER EVEN HAVE TO LEAVE THE VILLAGE TILL U GET UR TREE DONE.

When I was playing with CH recently I was able to pull both a droid and a pet at novice CH.

Combat XP doesn't convert to the same FS xp as med crafting does.. so if you want different lines you need different XP...

After reading a couple threads on the subject, I just feel compelled to give my input. This thread is as good as any I suppose.

Do I believe the 80k cap is bull? yes.

What Im getting aggrivated reading is the people that are going up COMBAT xp lines telling Docs to quit whining.

Docs have one way to get FS xp and that is to heal/buff. Now I keep seeing this "get a tumbler" or "call pets" or "use an alt"

I guess Ill just pull the one out of my arse that Ive had for safe keeping.

Although I hate the fact that I have to ride to the village after oh 15 mins to turn in xp, then ride back again (see the tumbler/pet comment above) but its that it costs a doc a small fortune to do one single stinking tree.

you think we can just buff and heal with our good looks? no it takes meds. now I craft my own but I still have to pay for the meats, harvs, and factories to gather the material and make em. Sure I could just make crappy action packs but I dont have a pet to call to keep buffing ONLY action over and over.

I did just a little simple math. I took a 2600 buff pack (didnt consider cost of bivoli to reach this) and an average of 30 charges per pack. now for a doc who doesnt craft thier own, on eclipse youll probably spend around 24k for this one single pack of 30 charges. A 2600 buff gives roughly 1300 medical xp. so to cap on med xp @ 80k that is a little more than 60 buffs. seeing my packs do 30, thats 2 full packs to get there.. that just cost me 48k. and for my 48k I get a whole 8k of FS xp. now if you add up the millions of xp I need. well I leave the number counting to you to figure out how many credits are coming OUT of my bank account. If I dont wanna travel every 15 mins, I need to buff in the village. Well I guess Ill join the other 15 docs out there giving free buffs away, cuz yeah, my line will pick up charging 7k just to cover costs. Most likely if I stayed in the village to buff. Id have to give em away for free too just to be able to buff anyone.

now we get to the combat profs. They get to kill things for thier xp. They cap at 900k in which some claim to do in an hour. well thats a trip per hour compared to a trip per 15 mins. guess Docs should ride bikes more cuz we look like we like to cruise around or something. Im gonna use janta/mokk missions for thisexample. In that hour of "grinding" weapons and combat xp, you get approx 5k of weapons xp per kill on a janta or mokk not even counting combat xp. and with 5 mokks or jantas, that 25k of xp in a matter of approx 4 mins of work. And the BEST part is, you just looted some uber skill tape and an adhesive! Woot! That will sell for multi millions! and guess what else? you just got PAID around 30k credits to gain your xp! what a nice treat for you! you make it, docs spend it. sounds pretty fair. I mean Docs should have NO right to complain at all. We have the easiest XP of all!

It really ticks me off to hear these arguments coming from people who havent tried the other side.

Ill continue to make my 15 min trips I guess. I have no other choice really.

Flame me or one star me if youd like, but stop and really think about all things involved in the way Docs have to go about getting and converting medical xp, and ask yourself if you had to do all that, would it be as fair as an elite combat prof?

Yeah, there are several different types of FS xp, I have 3 of them with XP in them now. After converting well over 2 million in banked weapons XP and a couple hundred thousand in non-combat I still dont have any boxes trained

And I cant even get the line that I want for another 2 or 3 village phases.... sigh.. at least I can go out and massacre innocent animals to bank XP some more ... at least it will benefit some docs and chefs and CMs since the avian and insect on dath is good at the moment.
