"Massive subscription cancellations is a funny definition of "BEST". " -captenjonny

Tell me, why do you think there will be massive subscription cancellations? Are you telling me that people would rather quit than playing a (hopefully) more balanced game?

I happen to agree with DoctorDiggs - the day that buffs are dramatically reduced "will be ONE of the the best days in this game."

The specials are going to have a Timer on them, like a few seconds delay before you can use them again...look in the in devolpment or in concept forums..they have also discussed nerfing the armor and buffs but no specifics and this is all talk about the combat upgrade which wont be in a few weeks....My guess, and its only a guess, is that Doc buffs will be more along the lines of what Musician/Dancer Bufss are like for the mind pool now...as for armor..40-60% caps I am guessing....The devs discuss this stuff in the forums I listed you just have to dig a bit sometimes to get to it.

Massive subscription cancellations is a funny definition of "BEST".

Why? Because a bunch of crybaby spoiled kids hate anything that would add CHALLENGE to a game?

Guess we should ask SOE to code /IWIN special into the game

Given that the entire HAM system is slated for a change, I think it's a little early to judge what effect a rumored reduction in buffs will have.

actually it will probably be a retroactive nerf.

There will be some max level of buffs (just like the clothing and food bonouses). it doesn't matter if you are rated to buff for 2500+ the max buff may be double the base for the player (nothing official on this just suggestions from people).

As for the buff nerf being good or bad for the game I have this to say.

I enjoyed being the medic for the group, keeping everyone on there feet, with armor and buffs being what they currently are, all I am as a doc is a buffbot. I have a business selling stims which is almost nonexistant.

I don't think people will cancel accounts enmasse, but they may want to have medic skills or group with a medic (gasp something other than solo groups).

No because the game is challenging enough as it is, make it harder and people will leave. I can not get over how many of you are desperate to get killed all the time! That's not fun for $15 a month. So fine, nerf the buffs/armor/food, sweat and struggle for every nuna hide, cdef pistol, rebel transmissions and other peice of crap loot. If that's your version of fun have at it. It's not mine and quite frankly if you spent time talking about this in game as you do in the forums you would see how unpopluar this whole thing is.

I agree with what your say LOL but how the hell can I as a swordsman or TKM play as u do, it fine to say that for range profs hehe but consider Melee profs before making statments like that

Not everyone is a ranger with camoflage or rifleman with there conceal shot! so from what your saying it sounds like Rifleman and Ranger could do with balancing as well if u don't need buffs or armour can't think of man profs that can kill anything without either of them some of the time so sounds a little overpowing!! << take with a pinch of salt but you see what i mean hehe

I know nothing about TKM but as a former swordsman, I can tell you that I soloed multiple REDS at a time and survived by popping Stim B's. Used NO buffs but did use armor and Muon - this was before the chef foods became popular.

I am a master rfileman/ranger who uses NO buffs and NO armor. I can solo ANYTHING in the game that is not 100% resistant to my weapons. How? I use tactics, ranger comouflage, and distance to my advantage. Buffs allow a player to solo anything with ZERO tactics and ZERO risk. People have no fear of anything in this game becasue buffs let them go toe to toe with any mob and simply beatit down through attrition. I see riflemen in full composite and full buffs fighting Rancors at point-balnk range. THe use of buffs allowed these people to master their professions without really learning HOW to play their professions properly. These people will be the most affected when the buffs get nerfed. I can't wait for buffs to get nerfed. I don't want them to go away completely but I definitley want to see their effectiveness limited - especially in the secondary stats department.

PS: I have a Doc alt and I still want to see buffs nerfed - HARD.

Anything with under 20K HAM I can kill using HS3 or StrafeShot2 without kiting.

Anything with 20K-50K HAM I can kill with HS3 or Strafeshot2 WITH kiting.

Anything with 50K-100K HAM, I can kill with concealshot.

Anything with ABOVE 100K HAM, I don't bother because it takes too long and we really should NOT be able to solo those creatures. But it is possible to solo them with conceal shot.

So yourmisinformed generalization about "conceal shot and running like mad" applies to only about the upper 1% of the mobs in the game which we shouldn't even be able to solo anyway.

Challenging? There is NO challenge to this game at all anymore. In order to have ANY kind of challenge a skilled player has to go without buffs and armor and go to a place like Dathomir. Even then, with sufficient medical abilities you are not too likely to die unless you tangle with a high-level Nightsister.

Hell, the last two times we went to the Death Watch Bunker we did not lose anyone.

I don't understand why you do not like a challenge.

First off, ROFL, imagine how rare mando and dwb stuff will be after armor and buffs are nerfed.

Second of all, Armor has 10x's more to do with people being invincible than buffs do. I spam specials without buffs, just gotta be able to heal. Once armor gets the ax then the game will be more challenging.
