Thread: Buffs possible REDUCTION of business?

With no buffs , to kill elders you would need a group of 20 ... whats the fun in that ? nothing !! Just a bunch of people linching Elders and taking turns to tank it...

Is that what you call fun ?

If it is you might wanna try playing solitare all day It might be more your style, I don't mean to flame or anything ....

It just seems that most of the people here that post that buffs are too good and all that are ones that do Janta missions all day , there is a lot more to swg then Jantas....

Try going to the geo cave unbuffed with the best armor , or with the best buff and no armor and see how long you live.

And btw the geo caves aren't at all the hardest place in this game ...

Without buffs and armor this game will be people killing nunas outside of Theed ...

Thats my opinion , accept it or not , killing buffs the way your talking about it will kill the game !

Just a few words,


You'll have to abdicate more than half your skill points to be master doc.


Doctor buffs add +150%-200% HAM/Secondaries to a player, that is insane and makes game buff addict to be played.


Armor can take damage reduction to 80-90%.



So we're all jacket up soloing taking 10% of normal damage (or less, I'm not counting food or other mods), evading some of it, regenerating at 250% and with insane HAM.


Don't get me wrong, I'm a solo addict but you won't see this in any other game......


My suggestion:


Doc buffs should give at max +100% to the character stats and armor should be around 65% tops (and only on special protection layers).


yes and this means creatures are not toned down, well.....maybe someone could take the stun batons off NSEs........

BUT for the most part the majority of the creatures in game now are exactly the same as they were before buffs became the standard. Rancors were no harder than they are now, its just that with buffs/armor you can spam specials



When i first started playing you couldnt spam specials. and it was hard to take down more than 2 rancors with a group smaller than 8 without at least 1 person dieing. you MIGHT laugh at this, but its true. a Doctor was required in almost ever group on dathomir to keep the group alive. No one could wear full composite because their hams were to low so full armor was rare to come by. So what you would see is 8 people going out, 1 dr, 1-2 masters and a bunch of novices killing rancors because a master tag was VERY rare when i started. This was before anyone KNEW that proffessions would get you a Jedi.



That being said, i doubt they would 'tone' down creatures. Maybe super battle droids, and high end mobs such as nyax or people on the corvette, but probably not even them because they are supposed to be IMPOSSIBLE to kill without a LARGE group. You will just see forced groups again, which isnt nesesarily a bad thing either.




IMO the thing that ruined this game was being able to pull a bike without a camp, not buffs, not armor. Without novice scout you couldnt pull a bike, therefore a scout would be required in a group to head back when done.....



glad i wasnt really around long before bikes were invented lol

I've wasted over 45million creditsin doctor resources and experimentation tapes and stuff.. I don't even have a buffpack vendor, but I LOVE doctor crafting!! I make custom buffpack orders for people who ask, but that's about it.


I'm not doing it for the credits, I love being a doctor crafter and I want to persue another crafting proffession as well.

Your rich though Currently there is no way for me to pick up novice scout to harvest resources so any I get atm is pity from my guild. (I have about 2700 avian meat) I hope buffs don't get nerfed before I can create my first 850+ pack! Im sick of even looking at the forums because I end up seeing a bidding war for meat getting high in the creds!(Your inthemmany times:smileytongue I'm desperate now and trying to muster any resources I can get to create my first packs. I don't think i'll be able to lay down 300+cpu for meat anytime soon so I'm going to have to wait and see. I love being a doc crafter also eventhough im limited to rez kits atm Hopefully one of these days i'll be in the ranks for the best packs on this surver!


P.S. Aren't we do a class four spawn of petrol fuel soon?

you have me all wrong.mypoint is, there is content designed for you to be buffed. they would have to tone that content down without buffs. content meant for groups of elite combat professions, are still meant for those ppl to have buffs and be armored. who the hell could wear decent armor without it anyway? you better have some good slicing. im not saying its impossible but it would be 100% needed without buffs. and then wearing that armor and using any special you would just be killing yourself, yet without it you would die probably from one hit fighting the things that are meant for buffs.a group of 20 ppl being killed from one hit is not fun gameplay. on top of that leveling will be slow. not everyone has the time to level at such a rate and not everyone can find someone to group with to level . some people play whenever they can and that "whenever time" can come at hours where fewer people are availablefor them to group with. without buffs, those ppl would be severely, and needlessly, punished in their leveling. they already dont have enough playtime then on their playtime they cant kill anything. how long would they continue to play?

I have a Master Doctor account as one of my alts. I think there is going to be some sort of reduction in the Combat Revamp and definitely some sort of reduction in business just from people migrating away from the ground game now that JTL is out. Also, people are going to be moving more freely about the galaxy as a result of JTL as well and may not be standing in front of Coronet waiting to be buffed.


I think that in time it will go back to some sort of stable situation...

the lines might not be AS long but remember, not everyone is getting jump right away, how many thousands of people are playing? i mean i'm not getting jump right away, i can't really afford it as i am moving and renovating etc etc.


there's still a lot of ground game, i'm sure that we won't have any problem keeping our lines busy. still gonna get a people for solo groups to get money to buy ship parts and stuff and loot, the whole economy is not moving to space, you can't buy in space,you can't mine in space, etc etc


business might go down but u wont know, you'll be in space won't you?

Well, I like buffs, but just not so much what there is out there now. They are too powerfull IMO and they do weaken the content of the game. But, I still think they have a place... maybe. Buffs and armor need some kind of a nerf I think, the mix of the 2 as they are is just too much.
