Thread: Mind Healing On TC: Confirmation Anyone?

If they are giving CM's another heal ability when they are mainly an attack ability class, then why not give the doctors an attack ability to balance it out? My suggestion would be a napalm grenade that inflicts a fire dot effect.
Hmm... No. Nothing damaging at distance. Don't seem right.
But I wouldn't mind something like "anesthesia" ability which put mob and people to sleep for short duration or until attacked.
Not all that serious about it tho'
But Definately feel lacking something.
I can't believe this.
After reading this, I'm going to start calling for Doctor nerfs. I don't mind powerful professions. I don't mind professions that have abilities which are essentially a requirement for high-level play. I do mind when the members of those professions get it in their head that they're somehow getting the short end of the stick and start whining louder than genuinely broken ones.
Doctor is one of the best professions in this game. The best PvE template in the game is Creature Handler/Doctor. Teras Kasi Master/Doctor is the best melee template bar-none, and among the best PvP templates in general. Doctor is the best group support profession, far exceeding anything Squad Leaders can even dream of being capable of in terms of improving a group as a whole.
You can provide buffs - including self-buffs - that area requirement for end-game PvE and PvP. People simply do not, will not, cannot engage in the highest level of combat without them; all else being equal, the guy with double the HAM and secondaries is always going to win, it's simple math. You can craft one of the most desirable items - highly experimented medicines - and sell them in quantities and for prices that would make most actual crafting professions green with envy. You can heal better than anyone else could ever hope to, including healing poison, disease, and status effects. You can heal wounds like they're nothing. You can revive other players.
And you have the unmitigated gall to kick and scream because you aren't being given yet another high-end, extremely desirable ability?
This is how Creature Handlers became the bane of all players. This is why Commandos and Bounty Hunters are facing angry hordes of people crying for nerfs. Because they didn't have the good sense to keep their mouth shut and enjoy being better than everyone else, and instead went out and begged for more until everyone got fed up with them. Learn from their mistakes. Keep your head down and your mouth shut, stop being such a bloody ingrate.
I hope you don't take my advice. I hope you do raise a stink, earn the animosity of every non-Doctor on every server in SWG, and get nerfed to kingdom come for your audacity. Just don't say I didn't warn you.
Doctors shouldn't be able to heal mind... Then I would be the ultimate PvP/E player...
I have argued, and continue to argue against it.
It basically makes CM's mandatory in a high level group (maybe even mid levels).
Mandatory professionsare BAD.
They need to spread it around... I don't care if that means master medic (3 professions have it)... or Have CM, SL, Image Designers, and trained Ewok pets do mind heals... 1 profession only is a very poor choice.
CM was most likely picked because they are short of skills...'a 2 birds w/ 1 stone idea'.. and a very poor one for something with this much impact on the game ![]()

I agree that CM's shouldn't be the only class for this, but I think everyone is over reacting to the usefullness of this change. I know I'm NEVER planning on using this. Using that skill will cripple me in the middle of combat. I'm not going to do that. I can only think of 1 time to use this and it would be on high level PvE hunts where you get argo from a DB'ing Mind shooting critter, but it would STILL be better for me to let you die and ressurect your tail then use a mind heal on ya.

Would be nice if that worried me, but unfortunately it doesn't.
One thing I've learned while reading/posting on MMORPG forums is that no matter how much you want to believe it, one poster doesn't cause a change.
They might START a change, but they don't cause it.
If Doc get nurfed, then it is because doctor profession is "perceived" to be too powerful by good number of people.
You can start the thread on main calling for Doc nurf, but unless it is general perception that Doc are too powerful, it wouldn't hold. And considering more CM participate on PvP than Doc, I wouln't lose any sleep over calling for Doc nurf.
There is reason CH, AT-ST and Commando got hit with nurf stick.
I'd worry more about them Anti-CM "Nurf poison/disease" thread that seem to be poping up. It seems like there is general perception that CM are too powerful.
