Thread: Am I just being mean, or is this not that far off base
As a dancer have had many long lovely conversations with ppl in medical community. I think it is outrageous that you dont receive tips. My all time favorite is when fighter commando types run in cantina crying cause no one to heal their wounds..I loveeeeeeeeeeee telling them well if ppl would tip them then maybe they wouldnt all be taking up different professions or running missions to make credits so they could stay in town. I applaud those of you who request payment ahead of time..these cheap gits brag in cantina all the time about having tons credits they have no idea what to do with but heaven forbid they donate to an aspiring medic ( as has been my suggestion many times).
I have tipped many aspiring medics who come to the cantina and healed me for experience. I never had much but felt like they needed it worse than me. Good luck guys..hope some changes come your way for the better.
dWhisper,
I went the self-sustained harvester route for awhile, but I found there to be a better way. Take your four harvesters, find something highly sought after, like ore, or anything high quality.
Mine the heck out of it, and then sell on the bazaar for whatever you can get in your market. You should then be able to sell/trade for what you need. It lets you keep from running around, and you only have to find one good spot for materials.
Once I started doing that, I was easily able to support my healing habit.
Perhaps we should establish a pricing plan and post it here for all medics. Since we all are having to charge patients we should establish an accepted cost for common tasks (buffs, wounds, revives, etc). There seems to already be generally accepted pricing plans for stims. cmponents, and resources.

That's actually what I'm doing now: stockpiling. Mr recent harvester excurions got me 20k of 942 OQ grain, 9k 892 OQ Fungus, 14k of 950 OQ Copper and 8k of 992 OQ Aluminum. I look for high OQ Fiberplast, and yes it lets me rest my harvesters. I've pulled them all up, and won't put them down until a) I find a perfect spot (which I'm not looking hard) or b) I run out of resources. I've also been running factory run after run of the various components.
I've gotten a couple more tips, but my main character has been blitzing to Commando and Creature Handler, so I've gotten all the XP I need. I have 100+ Stim D's lined up, and a ton of wound healing. I just recently got the ability to do Enhances, so I can make a little money off that. But mostly, I just sell the resources I don't need, including all the stores from my main character, who had been an architect.
Vanishing offline isn't something I'd ever do just do dodge doing a heal. They have /addignore if someone is being a twit. That and I do have Novice Pistoleer (just to get better missions for money, sad to say) so that works in a pinch. What depresses me is that it has to come to things like this.
