Thread: Do you doctors make good money buffing?

Hi, I'm a new player (2.5 weeks)... and frankly I am stunned that buffs are so darn cheap... 10k, 11k, 8k even.
I don';t know what Janta missions are or where they are (someone enlight me?) but I usually do a few solo missions in endor against Bordoks.... each one pays me 11k and takes about 4-5 minutes to do each (includes travel time).
For the cost of 1 mission reward I get a buff that lasts 3 hrs and allows me to bring in a LOT of credits.
I still can't believe how cheap you people charge.... it is perplexing to me how you can stand to make what seems like so little even to me - a new player - when your services are ESSENTIAL to the way this game is played currently (lets face it.. without buffs, 90% of the people couldn't solo what they are fighting now).
I wouldn't so much as bat an eye if priuces jumped to 20,000 or 30,000 .... I mean yeesh, that's still only 2-3 missions it takes me to earn it back -- and I'll still finish another 2 dozen missions probably on top of that and walk away with a nice profit.
I'm not a doc, but I really suggest you folks boost youir prices - it seems like dull work to me to sit there and I hear it is really hard to get quality parts to make the stuff.... you people are essential to the gameplay - as a customer, I say it is time to raise your prices - if anything because I just want to see more docs so I don't have to wait 10 minutes in line... I 'd rather wait 5 minutes or less and use that extra time doing something fun other than standing there.
You sure your not a doc's alt or something......... /stare suspiciously
Janta are found on Dantooine. They are missionable npc's that drop janta blood (used for doc buffs) and other things. They are the popular soloing mission due to 30k payouts for killing 3-6 npc's with 8-12k HAM.
I completely agree about the prices. That is why I don't buff in coronet. Instead I hunt and craft as usual, while displaying my MD tag. When I get a /tell from someone asking for a buff.... I usually charge 15k - 20k (buffs are 10k on Naritus). If they still want them.... cool. If not..... cool. If they get mad at me I calmly remind them that I wasn't sitting down with my droid advertising buffs and they specifically sent me a /tell in the first place.
If I don't get distracted I can finish 33 missions in under 3 hours. The best part is that the only cost to me is buffing myself.
As far as buffing for the public, I'll only buff for cash on distant places away from Coronet and Theed. Dath, Endor and sometimes on Lok I'll buff for 12k-15k depending on my mood. The players on adventure planets are very happy to see a Doctor on the planet and are willing to pay the extra cash without complaining.
In my opinion we're not charging enough for buffs so it's not worth my time buffing for cash.

UGH, I can't stand sitting on my butt for 4 hours just doing nothing but buffing people, I make better credit and have more fun doing missions.
"The real money is in selling resources to doctors and other crafters...."
I agree with that, I ended up paying 600K for some fiberplast and wild wheat I needed to continue using my schematic I made from those resources I had run out of. Those who sell it at 6CPU to 20CPU make a good business, and I will continue to buy if I think I need them.
Buffpacks sells for no less than 15K per pack (usually lower 800's in power) and the good ones go for 25K which sells very well on Lowca since the lack of quality resources are hurting most of us. I have seen a growing number of players mastering doctor just to go to populated cities and buff all day.
I'm mainly a master doctor to support my town and guild and I rarely do public buffs (been about a month since I've done that) and I also sell stimpacks B's and C's.
