The whole /shout MEDIC thing is a joke. It's from that movie Starship Troopers... whenever someone would lose a limb they'd shout it. I think alot of people are joking -- but I'm sure there are ones who are serious. In those 60 person groups the people who shout MEDIC get no extra special treatment from me. I'm healing as fast as I can.

As far as people not being in range -- I've noticed that when I have the most problems from people moving out of healing range is when they're close to dying -- they start running around as fast as they can trying to get away from the creature (which never works.. lets face it). However people are learning. Just tell them "You have a 7m range to get a heal. If you're getting beat on I know, and I'll heal you. If you run, I can't help ya." This was a big deal in Everquest... because someone who started running from a mob once they were close to death moved the mob around and the tank had trouble regaining agro. People will learn that to stand still when you're close to death means you will survive... just takes time to get it in everyone's head. Running away like a wimp (hehe) is just a bad habit people picked upwhile soloing in their early stages.

OMG Vapid, as another Master Doc who hides thier title, the grouping thing you mentioned is like my #2 pet peeve in game. Getting unsolicited or "spam" group invites from total stranges who don't even bother to talk to me first makes me want to reach out and touch someone....

My #1 issue is knotheaded melees who charge 40m ahead to engage after a "pull" and then scream "HELA ME IM DYNIG!" when the monster hits them for 800 dmg on the first shot. Hello, McFly! There is a reason we call it a PULL!

Jup, pretty much feel the same way.

Used to change my title to none every time I logged on, got tired and now I keep it on novice medic or Stimpack Chemist (or something like that)

I don't mind the little buggers. I remember how boring stint in hospital used to be, and my mood never improve while staying inside hospital.

Now I just tell em if they want exp so much, grab their stimpack and head to tusken (well not sure now they nurf that place)

If you're sick of everyone being out of range, get Combat Medic. I just sit in one place and heal everybody from 50 meters away. Rarely do I ever even move in combat anymore.

I haven't really run into many overt grumblers yet in the Med Cens but Ido hear off hand remarks now and again. So, I've developed a different strategy. I pop my Med Surg Droid out and sit at the entrance to the Cloning Facility. Nice, steady stream of patients there, and with my Master Surgeon tag showing, I keep myself fairly busy.

I haven't seen this as much, and when I wasn't master I was actually thankful for other doctors being around seeing as how we could swap skills if necessary.

Now I don't spend as much time in med center cause I don't need the exp (duh), rather leave it to those who do, and also I just want to have more fun doing other stuff (not to mention survive on crafting Stim B's).

Master docs should stay out of hospitals,if people arenotgiving substantial tipsand since the master docs have no need for experience they shouldn't be there. If you're being paid for master docs wound heals, fine. Otherwise you are taking xp from people who need itand getting nothing in return but other medics pissed at you. If a master doc is healing everyone else might as well pack up and leave.

if u are so concerned about master doctors stealing your xp, heres a thought leave the med center...

last time i checked the med center was a public place...are you telling master dancers and musicians to get the heck out of the cantina...

public places are exactly that public...if u are not getting enuff xp here are # of things u can do...

u can go out and get and xp grp and stim for xp

u can go to the other half of the med center if you are in a med center with 2 rooms.

you can buy a droid and set up a mini clinic outside somewhere in teh city

you an buy a house and make ur own personal clinic...

fact is the people that are sitting in the med center complaining about master doctors are just being lazy...thats like going into a huge grp of BHs on a major raid then complaining that your novice marksman skill cant do enough damage to yield you enough xp. If u cant hack the heat in the kitchen get out...

med centers are public not some training area of medics to gain xp...

That's the whole point of the original post. I'll go into a hospital if I want. 99% of the time, I'm not there to heal other people. I sit in an unoccupied area, go afk, and get some downtime, since I usually have about 15-25 wounds in different areas. The few that I do heal ask me in advance and pay me 2k-5k for speedy service. If other medics are so insecure that they can't handle my mere presence, screw 'em. Everyone knows the best exp is not in the medical centers.

LOL - I hadn't had my brand-new "Novice Doctor" sign up for more than 5 minutes when I started getting tells inviting me to exotic worlds and what not. Oh, well. I guess it goes with the territory. Good thing that /ignore command works.

I know this is kinda mean, but i think its great.

One of my Master Doctor friends got so tired of always getting the /tell's, or the rude comments when she walked into the med center, she decided to take off her master doctor title and put her novice medic title back on. she stopped reciveing the /tell's in a heart beat. but when ever she's in the med center and she hears a rude comment or remark about a doctor she just takes care of all the patients in the room and laughs at the medics.

She has also stopped just training people off the street, and will only train people if they are recommended from one of her friends.

I know, i know...like i said it is mean.

What would be really cool is that when you select titles you can choose to have a "Dr." Title infront of you name instead of a MASTER DOCTOR title. Thus we can all refer to each other as Dr. _________.

I do miss the early days where 4 novice medic sat around the Medical Center and healed wounds for 17 points a pop. I still know and keep in contact with some of the friends i made then. Meeting other medics and talking to people coming in and out of the Med. Center. Now days i run into a one, see if anyone needs help. And ask to train people if needed. Then leave.

Maybe a good way to make money is to sit in the corner of a medical center or infront of the cloning center run a MSE droid with the name "Master_Doctor_Will_heal_wounds_fast_for _tip" on a patrol point around you, and wait till people come by who are willing to heal you.
