I am a master doc/fencer, & when i started the game I made a rule to never buff the gp (General Pulic). I only buff guild members (for free) and a few select people in the game. I didnt become doc for the credits, those of you that do will find yourself constantly harassed w/in game tell's & people telling how bad you suck, your a tool, lets duel, and other profanities that will be mentioned in this post because you want to charge whatever it is u charge. I personally find the game more enjoyable, no tells, no stupid remarks about the cost of my buffs or that I ran out of buffs, no stupid tell's when I'm grinding XP on some other planet other than corellia. The game is just a whole lot better when I don't advertise that I am a buff bot. I have endless buffs in stockpile, I make endless amounts of credits & xp because no one bothers me to start a buff line in coronet. Overall, the game is a pleasent exp for me. I feel sorry for all you guys that sell buffs (as a buff bot on coront) for profit, because you can make more money selling your buffs on a vendor (with less hassle & effort) & more time building xp & credit per hour killing stuff. I leave all the trouble & hassle for all those docotrs who are willing to put up w/stupid people that whine & cry about lines, buff prices, and lack of doctors buffing.
I will continue to make buffs for my vendor & you will continue to buy them and sell them to people who are willing to sit in your line to pay for them. And I will continue to be free to do whatever I wish in game while you spend endless hours of wasted time buffing ungratefull children who whine about everything wrong with the game.
One last thing - Thank You for puchasing my buffs & helping me gain wealth in game. Because you purchase my buffs, and I am not a buff bot I am free to gain XP & 180k of credits or more an hour! Thanks to you I am able to gain a dual income w/out hardly and effort on part & I don't have to listen to the gp whine!
Thank You

I am not meaning to come across as greedy, I agree 50K is high it was just a number that I thew out. I also do not want to sound like I should be punishing players for making money off me, a large part of the SWG economy is making money off other players for either services or items sold. But as for non combat professions it would seem that MDs have to put in the most time (borring time) to make the smallest profit. The only point I was trying to get across was that 10K to me seems VERY low, and as a whole MD's should move up thier pricing on buff's. I am seeing more and more charging 15K wich is a good start, but I think we should as a whole bring the price up even more.

I am a master rifflemen and before I became a MD I thought at that time 10K for a buff was SO cheap considering that I could make that back in a single missions plus. If anyone who reads this is from Starsider ask Miadora (great doc and entertainer and interior designer)what I was paying her, always 20K plus, I seriously felt guilty about 10K for a buff.

I myself have set my price at 20K, and as what was perviouly stated, if someone thinks it too high, they can go somewhere else.

I personally will not buff for money. I don't like the idea of being a vending machine. If I buff someone, it's because we're ALL going out to kill stuff together - I'm strictly an active-role doc. I think, actually, that the "buff and go" mentality where you don't need a doctor in the group is problematic - in all other MMO's there was some way to tether the buffer to the group so he'd have to be taken along, either by short timers or by a proximity requirement. You want the benefits of my services? You bring me with you!

Hopefully the combat balance will address these issues so we have functioning groups again and people don't look at me as a "god-mode dispenser."

To be honest when i am not on my doc, and buffing myself, or doing erands, shoping ext, itip upwards of 50k for buffs if i know i am going to be productive, i have had docs tell me to skip the line if they see me in queue, and i have had some crack out there 'personal stashes' there selling 2400's for 3 hrs, i get 2600+ for 3 and a half hours, just shows ya', if u are good to people, they're good to you!

Especialy when i am on my jedi, it makes a difference, less you stay in coronet, the better off you are, thats my opinion, so having a friend in coro buffing is good, it truely is, it expediates things, for any NONdocs reading this, just remember tip a % of what u will make XP wise or money wise, trust me, the docs will remember it, and if u are a jedi, u wont loose so much XP, docs will rush to rez you, lolLightside/Darkside docs love our cash

Pricing high is a good way to reduce your workload, for crafting or services. If those doctors have plenty of money already and want some time to themselves, then yes, they should price as high as they like. If nobody buys, then either they lower their prices, or decide they really like having their free time.

On farstar buffs in coro easily cost more than 20k, why is this you ask? well like the original poster pointed out u can easily make that 20-25k back in about 2 minutes by doing one solitary janta mission and then you are free to run about bullet proof and make as much money as you like for the rest of your buff session. i personally can't be bothered with the hassle of coronet and i only buff in player cities and occasionally in a quieter npc city, i charge a basic fee of 15k for regualr buffs and 8k for resists if you want them. i charge 25k though on endor and yavin because they are more advanced planets.

I agree that buffs should cost more now, but you really can't base it on what kind of cash that person may be making off the buff. You don't know what he/she is doing with it. If you try to charge more based on that you will get alot more professions charging more on what they think the customer is doing with their product. Say for instance a AS decided to do that. Armor does last awhile and the person could usethat stuff to make multi-millions so lets charge 300k per peice instead of 100k. Now doesn't that sound stupid to you? Would you pay that? You would probably fly off the handle and make a rant about how they charge too much. And about the abuse docs take, it seems to me on my server that public buffing is nowhere to be found lately. I don't know about cnet.cause I don't go there but in Theed it seems you can't get a buff most of the time. So some people may become more apreciative towards Doc's in desperation. We can only hope.

many have tried to unite the Docs before, me included. bottom line is that there are few that want this to happen. i just stopped buffing anyone other than my in-game friends and guild. i have been a MD since 11-03

"When Sony and Lucas set out, we said, 'How can we do this and not make another EQ?' We didn't want it to be all about Luke, or combat, or lock our players into a class. So we created a system that would allow players to switch professions during the game, and there would be a lot of gameplay around making that change. If you want to go from architect to scout we've created a system to make that happen." - JULIO TORRES

I kind of agree with that making money as a doctor is easy but its time cousming is the only problem, cause im a TKM so i can get in a large group and go to dathomir for the 40 to 50k rancor missions

so by the time that i finshed with both 40 or 50k missions a doctor would only be donew with 2 or 3 patients so if they are charging 12k for a full buff thats only 36k for them and in that time i have made either 100k or close to it.

The only thing i can say for the people that are complaning about other professions making money faster then them is SHUT THE BEEP BEEP BEEPING up !!
Doctors arent suppose to be the all power ful money makers true they can make alot of money.

The only time i line buff is when im tried of killing or tired of the rancor missions so i used the line buffing to rest and relax talking to my patients is nice and the patients usally pay me more cause im talking with them and not just a buff bot

Feel sorry for me because I buff people? I dont do it for the money.... as for selling them on a vendor instead of buffing that's just insane to sit there and say you'd have more time for building xp and credit. I am a master pikeman and I can certainly go out and kill if I want to. i dont need anymore Xp as you put it since I have no skill points left to my name after mastering med, doc and pikeman. I like sitting and buffing and helping out. Docs were made for support.

For some reason peole tend to think that its boring to sit and buff others. Well who are you to say what's fun and what's not?? To me grinding combat professions, doing missions, becoming jedi is all EXTREMELY boring to some, me included. If you bash docs like this, then you should also be posting on all the crafting professions, musician, dancer forums....

Wake up. Without the buffers the people in no guilds or guilds with no doctors would be screwed. And contrary to what you might believe, SOME people actually appreciate when doctors are buffing.

>>>>>>>>>>>>> Yes you are right, we all play the game different that's what makes the game so diverse. There are way too many people who complain, I know you can't please everyone in the game. It's just not possible! I know I sound like a pr1ck, but when I do buff I let them choose the payment they want to pay. I don't ask for 15k or 20k or whatever the fotm is at the time. Personally, I try to talk to the people in line because I am bored, but there is alwasy that one a$$ clown that makes me stop buffing when he gets to me.Your buffs suck, they don't last as long as so and so's buff, what do u mean i choose the payment amount? Free sounds good to me!, hurry up your too f'ing slow, how many buffs do you have?, what do u mean i have 300 bf? You mean i have to come back? I've been in line for 20 mins!, You ran out of buffs? Impossible you just don't want to buff me, screw u!, 3at m3!, F-U, lets duel.......etc.....etc.....etc

I don't need that Sh1t!! The a$$ clown's far out number the decent people who play SWG. Atleast on my server anyways. And don't get me started on all the freaking /tells I get while i'm in game for a buff, cuz know i'm everyones freaking friend.

Here's another example - A veers doctor charged this dancer 25k for an action buff! What kinda crap is that? I sent her a /tell I will buff your action for free. She said sorry hun, I already tipped the guy, thanks your a sweetheart

One person can't make a difference!

Play the game the way it makes u happy.

The question is NOT am I happy, because I am! But you have to ask yourself are you happy w/the game?

Thousands have played before you & thousands more will play after you. Will you still be playing?
