I dont allow cutting in any of my lines even if someone offers a nice sum its not fair to others. And if i am the one getting buffed and a doc allows a cut i walk off and find a different doc.

If I'm running a buff line and a guildmate shows up, I'll bump him to the front and pop a Havla. I don't feel even a little bit guilty for it. Other than that, I don't allow line jumping -- not for any moral reason, but just because I have a hard enough time keeping track of the emails as it is.
Cheers!

I'm personally against line cutting (unless havla is used) because it makes everyone else second-rate customers. If you set the jump fee really high though, it would reduce the amount of people that would do it.

I think you should ask this question in a non-doc forum too..
After all.. us docs never stand in line.. so we don't really know whatit is like to stand there for 20 mins.. only to have a bunch of rich players cutting in front of them making the wait so much longer..
If I were a non-buffing player.. I would think I would hate the line cut idea..

Doctors who allow line cutting for extra charge should all be taken to a "People's Court" to be tried and convicted of charging what ever the market will accept. We should rule from the forums and decree that no one should value their time, or anyone elses above what we approve!

for the most part my normal price is 13k. the only time i let others to the front are either a. good friends b. people who have ongoing deals with me for buffing(have a handful who get priority due to past item trades) and c. offer me a whole lotta money, last time i let someone cut, it was 80k for them. it more or less just depends on my current mood

My and a friend who used to be a Master Doctor had a lot fun with the line cuts for extra cash.
We used to buff together.
One of us would sit without his Master Doctor tag on and we would chat and have a blast and when the line got long enough people would ask if they could cut the line, the one sitting beside the buffing doc would start up a line for the people who were willing to pay more to get their buffs, and when the lines were short again we would revert to chatting and one buffing doc.
and we shared the cash.
Kinda made us laugh all the way to the bank.
I'm still a Master Doctor, but i've stopped public buffing, it wasn't worth the time, but it can be very entertaining.
for now i only buff friends.

This is hilarious. We have to many bleeding heart honest injuns around here. Guys have you missed the obvious? Unless these ppl are going to pvp then the buff you are giving them is going to make them a boat load of money.....yes...your buff you just gave them for 10k will probably end up making them in excess of 200k or morein 3 hrs if they are smart. As far as noobs are concerned I don't wanna hear it. Poor noobs my butt. Lets go back to the beginnings where there were no buffs, vehicles, mounts, composite armor, huge sliced weapons, etc..etc. Noobs have got it made these days. If someone wants to give me 50k to jump line , hell yea I'm gonna do it..thats why I eat my havla selectively , that way I can speed buff the person that cut for 50k and the next person in line and not screw things up. Its a service that we give ppl and a hell of a service at that. Don't short change yourself trying to be nice...lets face it how often do "WE" get taken advantage of...ppl wanting free wound heals, free rez's, free buff's(cause they're broke). I've been here since the start and ground my way up the hard way. I've been a doc for 7 months because I love the profession, but I did't get anything handed to me like the new ppl today get. Not trying to flame so don't take offense ...just trying to open some eyes.

Once I get enough AP points to grab Master Medic, and then fly thru Doctor. I'm DEFINITLY gonna allow line jumps, but it's gonna cost 150k to do it.

I'm not a Doc, but I don't mind Line Cuts
This idea I like though. And if there were Novice Docs doing low quality buffs in the starport for 5K I'd hit them up, even if I don't want a buff (and I usually never do), just to support them.
I remeber when I first got buffed back last summer. Couldn't figure out for the life of me why my HAM jumped 200 points, when a Doc was just playing around in the 'Center
Otin wrote:Hehe I can get some crazy lines in Coronet at re-start, so I have come up with a really good way of line jumping. It costs 10k per person you wanna pass...simple as that, then I generally take 5k and give it back to the person who was passed. So this solves two problems, makes both people happy and gets me many many a return customer. I have had someone tip as much as 150k in order to pass 15 people once.

"When I play my doc and people ask to cut, I tell them they have to pay for every person in fromt of them in line.
Many people will do it and all the people that had to wait a bit longer got a free buff....."
Now thats the best damn idea i have seen yet, and if i ever run into this issue (i havent yet because i only buff in theed where i never have more than 3 or 4 in line at a time),thats what i'm gonna say...bravo!

Been a Master Doctor 3 times since I started playing over a year ago. I always tell folks that means 'I have forgotten more about Master Doctor than most Master Doctors currently know'.I have offered the 'line-jump' for extra cash for a LONG time, long enough that many of my customers automatically tip me the larger amount without even asking. I think it's fair for the following reasons:
1. I advertise it. Those that sit down to get in line should see the message that the line is something they can avert if they choose to pay for it.
2. I never hesitate to refund anyone's money forwaiting too long,if they ask appropriately and don't get rude about it. I will even in some cases /tip them some money back if their wait has been abnormally long.
3. Anyone that thinks Doctors charge too much for buffs has never been a successful Master Weaponsmith or Master Armorsmith. Asa matter of fact, I don't recall ANY toons becoming MWS or MAS and then giving it up to become a Doctor because the money was better?
4. Those that CAN afford the line jump have obviously done the math about what the extra $$ is worth. To be able to 'skip' 10-15 minutes of wait time and instead be out in the field is HUGE when running missions for $$.
5. This doesn't affect the economy like so many people would like to try and say that it does, because the fact is that MOST people don't pay the extra $$. On an average 3-4 hour playing time, I might get 5-10 people that will actually pay the extra money to bump the line. So, as you can see, even though I am making a little more money on those 5-10 people. I am not going to be jumping into the Billionaire club anytime soon. Unlike those Weaponsmiths and Armorsmiths...
