Thread: CU OPINION POLL POS 30 NEG 110. CU is LIVE so what's YOUR opinion?
So it's 30 Positive, 110 Negative.
we've been live a little while now however so are opinions changing?
the CU is amazing....best time i have ever had in the game after playing it for almost 2 years now....large scale combat is much faster paced...and the not have to take 15 min to buff everytime u want to log on is soooo sweet....any one who voted negative should have played the game for more then a hour before they voted...
The game has been a bit buggy since the CU but that is the case for every expansion or major update they have done with everygame ever made....soe is doing fine...stop complaining ...get back in game...and start buying my stimpacks lol...
Cya all the the battlefield (i hope)
This is actually a hard poll.
The change that CU brings - POSITIVE
The pushing of CU to Live before even the most simple bugs where removed - NEGATIV
The conversion rate of the buffpacks, and their general usefullness - NEGATIVE
But in spite of that i go POSITIVE

I agree completely. But harness is no different from a special bar, a wand of healing with X charges is no different than stims. The suspention of disbelief is the issue here.
Suspension of disbelief would be much easier if healing still required consumable meds. In the new system, that's not the case.
un?...are you all talking about the samne game. this is ..er...was "starwars"

Just, for a moment, look at where the negative's fall into:
1) Crafting
2) Skill points
3) Change in play style
On point #1, we have arguments that it's not good that crafting is going to BE/Medic. Also, people feel that buffs will not be needed and Doctors will not be able to make money with them. And we have people with stockpiles of resources thinking they will be useless.
I think these are all interesting arguments, but we have zero proof any are valid except that the crafting trees are moved. Being in a player run economy, we can not begin to imagine what the going rates for the changed buffs will be, and have no idea how buffs will play a role in the new system. And until we have hard data on what schematics will be using what resources, we can't start saying all the current Doc resources will be useless.
We need to stop thinking about the game in the current system, and realize that the new system is going to be totally different. This plays along with #3, and might be the most valid of all the negative arguments. Personally, I think it's too soon to complain about the play style changes until we see how Doc will fit into the big picture. Heck, we don't even know what skills we are retaining, what is gone (beyond crafting tree), and what new skills we will gain. Until we have that, we're just playing guessing games.
And with point #2, the Devs stated that all elite professions based on combat, including Doc, will be having changes to pre-reqs to balance them out. Complaining that you will not be able to double-master Doc with a different combat profession is still thinking in the old system and assuming Doc will require Master Medic, for all we know we might need only one or two medic trees to get Doctor novice.
We, as a group, need to look at things rationally. Too many of us are flying off on wild tangents, assuming the worst. Using harsh words and unproductive posts will do nothing to benefit us. If we expect to have any say in what happens to our profession, we first need to find out what is changing, what our role is going to be in the combat system, and move on from there.
Until then, we have to be patient. Posting out of rage thinking all your millions of units of resources are obsolete will do nothing but give a negative atmosphere to the forum here, and as I've seen in the past, the Devs will stay away from any negative areas when they post. So if we want more information, perhaps we need to be more civil about it.
I haven't flamed a single other player regarding their views on the changes to the profession. I hope to recieve the same amount of respect, and we owe it to all our fellow players.
Are you convinced now? no flame just an after the fact obsevation

I vote big negative now - Doctor is not worthwhile when a person with 3 boxes in jedi is a more efficient and effective healer.
The combat docs looked great, things were supposed to be more group based and Doc was supposed to be viable again. But then our heals got the big nerf (700ish for the best heal? Combat medics were supposed to have mid-grade heals, not us), and Jedi Healer got a bigger boost (1000 heal with only 2xxx healer, that can essentially be spammed?).
/sigh
So disturbing to see what happened to us. The CU should have been the best thing to happen to the healer professions, and they essentially nerfed us into uselessness.
NEGATIVE!!!
Overall, if the CU had actually done the things it was supposed to and actually worked like they claimed it would it might not be so bad. However, onesystem with some problems was replaced by a different system with even more problems.
