now you make it sound like a bad thing to sell buffs, i dont see how it is i sell buffs for a few hours then i join a group and go kill imps and do other missions as well i heal people most are (cheap as hell-o)and dont tip or pay but i still help them.

i still carry master medic, master doctor, im 4434 in marksman, 0041 in pistoleer. and still have skill points left.

i like crafting my meds and i buy my buffs. what do i do with all the buffs i have stock piled do i lose them, i dont like the sound of that. i fight more then i heal but every one that i group with likes that im there for the heals and i like being the man in the group that keeps everyone alive, and magicial healing is not for me. when you go to the doctor when your sick he dont just blow this invisable mystery vapor out his a_ butt and your all healed where is the physical nature to healing at. it dont need to be taken away

i dont know whos darkside your head has been up but pull it out quick

because you know good and well that just healing some ones wounds

was not getting you what you needed to move along in the game

because no one paid or tipped for heals(why goc to a doc that on wants money to heal when they could go to a novic medic and get healed for free because they needed the xp). being able to buff and craft gave a doc a way to get some creds to buy resources to make better meds.

and for that matter i bet you do or did buffs to make money to keep the maintainance up on your house or shop.

when i needed money i buffed but never charged for any thing else because whats the use people just learning the medic field would do it just for xp

so tell your crap filled stories to yourself cause no one else believes you

Seems to me after reading a large number of the posts here that the basic difference of opinions comes from your perspective of the game. Is SWG a combat based game or something broader. I, myself, have always seen this game from a combat view point. It puts the buffing and and artisan classes as nothing more then auxillary professions to the combat professions. I have several accounts that are weaponsmith and doctors that I call my utility characters because their only reason for being here is to support my carb/bh char and my fellow guild combatants. Therefore I have no real losses in the CU. As a matter of fact I have gained with my doc/swordsman in so far as she can now really get into the thick of things combat wise.

I see a lot of lackluster emotion and "go along to get along" mentality from this forum. Come on people! This is a total joke!WE"REMAD AS HELL AND WEAREN'T GOING TO TAKE ITANYMORE! We've been totally screwed. This is like every timecongress passes a tax simplification act - it get's more hosed each time. The Jedi revamp promised more quests - delivered more grinding. The CU upgrade promised more balance - made everyonepick combat medic. I got poisoned a million times on the stupid test server. I enjoyed crafting. I don't give a crap if I kill someone in PVP and they rez 1 second later no worse for wear - who gives a crap. The med crafting required an orchestra of challenges to just acheive a minimum level of quality. What the hell are the devs thinking. There goes our ability to make money in the game. There go the millions I spent on skill tapes (that really pisses me off!) there go the millions of credits and man hours I spent collecting resources. And for what? So SWG can look more like WOW. Leave the damn game alone finally!! Damit!

sigh

I have been a Master Doc / Master Swords for a few months now. I was a MBH/MCarbineer for a long time. I changed my template for 2 reasons. #1 hard to find a doc to go out in the field and be a doc instead of a fighter, #2 to grind out the village. Well i loved be a doc in Combat, it was my main focus while in a group, i would only fight if i need to help pull the agro or if everyone was doing great, and didn't need heals.

I am now just a Master Doc, when i logged on after CU i was -14sp. I am not a regular reader of the forums, so i lacked some of the info needed to do the respec correctly i guess, or something. Well now i am only a MD. I lost all my combat, and for the first time since i started playing thegame......i can not hold a weapon. (i started playing the game in sep 03)

Didn't matter what i did yesterday I could not get any Docxp, my character is useless. I sent out a ticket....yet to see results from that. I am 172k fs xp from having my jedi. I need that xp in Senses. I have always been a store bought doc, so the crafting didn't really matter. But my abilities to help a group did...now that doesn't mattereither.

When i went with a group yesterday to be their healing, in the time it took me to rez 1 person, everyone else died too, cuz i am unable to heal or do anything else for the time i am rez'n.

I am a lost and confused player. SWG is a lifestyle for me, I guess i'll have to find a new one, unlessSOE gives us some love. (haha)

Why not just make Doctor and Combat Medic 1 profession?

I left SWG about 5 weeks ago to go on a vacation, and i have returned. Now that i am back i find myself asking, what the f**king hell did they do! Im a CM/Doc, and have purchased millions in buffs, resources, and meds, whats worse is that i have spent thousands of hours making my way up the doc/cm tree. I am more than extremely dissapointed in this "upgrade" (i say upgrade because of its title, not its effect cause according to webster's dictionary an upgrade is a change that makes something better). I have never taking a huge role in the combat system, only pvp'ing on occasional raids with my guild. With this new thing i dont even know where to start in remaking my character to a combatant. To see something i have spent so much time (not to mention $$$$) go to virtual hell, really sucks putting it lightly. I dont like the changes, and this game hasnt been fun recently. I dont think im alone in this, and i think SOE should reconsider these changes, or try and bring back the old role of a doctor and crafters.

heres my two cents,

i think its fine and dandy that doctors get alot of xp helping out in battles ( should be COMBAT Medics or Medics helping in battles really), but what good is a med center or a camp any more. Shouldnt docs be found in hospitalshealing wounds too. Right now there is no xp invloved when healing outside of combat so there is no longer any incentive. I see people camped out in med centers waiting for their wounds to heal from the building. SOE needs to give docs xp for healing inside a med center too. It could be like the entertainers now. The doctors can set a doctros fee much like entertainers setting a cover charge. Then everyone that goes into the med center could submit to doctors care much like watching or listening to and entertainer. Just and idea

Too often players and the devs have a mindset that professions should be balanced with 1 on 1 pvp in mind. This mindset is ruining the game. The benchmark for balance should be determined by the role a profession plays in a group setting. As long as the current mindset continues we will never see uniqueness among the professions, nor will we ever see individuality within a given profession. We will never see the SWG universe expanded as the focus will only ever be balance pass after balance pass after balance pass.
