Well put. I am in the same boat. Yet some may consider it whining but I consider it defending what you rightfully earned. This is why man have left and went to WOW. This game will end shortly with just a few people playing with themselves. I see it already happening. That is why they are trying to advertise EQ so badly. Many people have left because of the fact that they are so arrogant that they think they can ram whatever they want down our throats and we will continue to pay for it. NOT ME AND NOT HERE. This will mark the end of SWG. It is a shame.

Part of the reason I enjoy SWG is the complexity of the game. I enjoyed making buffs, stims, wound packs, blankets, state removal packs, etc. ISPECIFICALLY liked all of those meds - the fact that they were consumable, that they were needed, that they played a meaningful part in the player economy, and that there was a great variety of them. They added atmosphere and immersion.
Taking them away and replacing them with timer based rechargable skills just dumbs down the game. The things that are getting taken away, are not beingreplaced with soemthing of "like value". I do not feel that generic stims and enhancers are a worthy replacement for the cool craftable we have lost.
SOE is pathetic with thier game design and implementation. Stop changing G0D D4MNED GAME AROUND!!! I ground through 28 professions in an attempt to unlock my Jedi, and they changed the whole system on me when I was almost there. I have spent the last 9 months harvesting huge amounts of high quality resources so that my meds are of high quality, and now they are stripping me of the value of those resources. I was able to craft a wide variety of useful meds.... and now I will only be able to craft 2 types? That is GARBAGE.
I don't want to be a Bio-Engineer to craft meds. I don't want to be limited to 2 types of meds to craft. I don't want the5 million component specific resources I have to be worthless. I don't want the variety of craftable items in the game to diminish. I don't want SOE to keep changing the game around every couple of months. This game has been the most frustrating online experience EVER.

cut the flim-flam and just change the profession to "Priest" now.
as there is no "medical science" post CU.

Just spent a little time (could only spend a little time as the server kept crashing) on the Bria CU test server. Imagine my horror when I found my Buff packs converted to what the dev's consider "something useful".... combat level 64 stim packs. Gee, thanks, that's truly useful. Converting them to the CU's equivalent of buff packs just too unreasonable? Guess so.
Oh, and I buffed one of my characters without the benefit of "enhancers". Not one buff exceeded 45 minutes in duration. Fanfreakingtastic.
So not only did i lose two years worth of gathered doc resources, I lost almost 1k charges worth of buff packs to these "something useful" stims. THANKS GUYS! You're giving me more and more reasons to stay in this game, arentcha?
Oh, if I sound just a wee bit p!ssed off, it's because I have another alt that's an armorsmith. If you're gonna get screwed, you might as well get screwed twice, eh?

Only trouble is that in order to get the BE crafting line, we need to use 15 SP for Novice Scout in order to get the Scout Hunting line for BE. So although it seems like a wash, it is really not.

So we get health buffs, combat speed buffs, and small regen buffs for action mind. - Still useful for players, but not totally essential
We retain our big heals with no range - Useful in group, CM is getting mid-range heals with range or small area
Rez without a component with "minimal rez sickness" - Extremely useful
Prereq's changing to two medic lines - means we can pick up the BE tree also, plus the crafting line required, which works out to be roughly the same amount of skill points that we use up as a master now - can still be a master doc and craft our own stuff
/can't wait to see this live

I hate to be pessimistic, but after reading these 7 pages of posts, I have to admit I'm discouraged. I have played SWG since release, and started on the medical track right away. I earned both Master Medic and Master Doc the hard way, sitting in medical centers healing people and going on group hunts and healing my comrades... rarely was I tipped.I never even did the "grinding" stuff to get my crafting boxes.I made my meds as I needed them. It took me months to become master doc.
I'm an older player, probably in the oldest 5% of players. I came to SWG because "Star Wars" was part of my generation. Yep, I was in the movie theater when Star Wars was first shown. It's part of my cultural heritage.
I was excited about SWG because it was Star Wars which I knew, and the description of the game said you didn't have to be a combatant, and this really appealed to me as I don't like violence even if it is only virtual. I don't enjoy combat, I don't like pvp, so being a healer/crafter was ideal for me. I joined hunts because my guildmates needed my help, not because I enjoyed it. I usually buffed people who were going into combat and I healed them when they returned, andI've gone on many, many"rez runs." I took great pride in making better and better medical supplies in order to be the best doc I could, but I never made any real money off of it. The docs in my guild don't charge more than 5k for buffs in our player city, and peoplealmost never tip you for wound and poison/disease heals. Money was never my motivation, but it helped to be able to make SOME money in order to pay for the house and other items you need in this game. Like many of those who posted here, I have also spentcountless hours upon hours gathering resources since the beginning of SWG. I have millions of doc resources, the finest that ever spawned. I have spent millions of credits collecting them over time, and millions moreon medical experimentation tapes, which is why I only have about 600k credits to my name right now. I have several accounts for alts who ONLY survey and harvest/mine for me. Everything is in resources. I converted all myveteran reward resource kits to avian meat. I still have no clear answer as to what's going to happen to all of my resource stocks. Being an older person, I plan for the future. That's what I've done the whole time playing SWG, planning and working so that I could be somewhat comfortable in the game after all this time and just enjoy myself, and now it all seems pointless. I was actually crafting meds when I heard about all this in guildchat a little while ago. I'm literally sick to my stomach at the moment to find it's all true. I don't see much need to craft any meds now.
I'm not a grinder. I never completed tons of professions to go Jedi even though it was something I would like to have tried. I only managed to do two holos; the second was carbineer and I've been a doc/carbineer ever since.I kept carbineer just to help defend myself as a doc. As I said, I'm not a kid any more and I don't have the energy or motivation to start all over again with new professions.Yes, I can go BE, but as I read all the posts, I wonder what for? Doesn't seem to be all that necessary for a BE/doctor to make meds that most people won't need. And if doc is really only meant for combat under the CU, that doesn't leave me in a good place.
It seems like I'm losing an awful lot here, most if not all of what made the game enjoyable to me. I left AC2, the only other MMORPG I ever played, because of the continual nerfing of the characters we had worked so very hard to build. My husband, Iann, passed away in September. I've stayed because of all the friends we had made and all that he and I had invested here. I've already lost many of those friends due to changes in the game. I don't know how many more I'll lose to the CU.
I know that SOE is trying to make a game for the masses because that's where the money is, and I'm in the minority both in age and in what I want in a game. I guess all good things must end. Maybe some things will be better, but some will not. Sorry for the rant, but I needed to express my feelings. I wish good luck to all with the new changes.

I have to agree with Serena. I'm so discouraged after seeing all the changes to the doctor profession. Mostly I've buffed and I've made and sold meds at low prices for my guild for many months now. What will be my source of incomeafter the Combat Upgrade? Unless I take the BE lines, I can't craft. When I looked at the crafting and the resources for BE, it looked hellish, and not many of my guildmates could afford the prices necessary for these new enhancers, whether serotonin or endorphin. I'm especially disgusted that many of my meds will convert to stims. You mean my janta buffs that i've so carefully constructed and saved for important occasions will become stim d's? What about all the resources I've collected? Yes, I understand that avian meat and reactive gas will still be important, but I also see all kinds of ingredients that are so specific and rare that I won't be able to make these new items until I can somehow find them. And we will need them in large numbers.
I' ve always thought that gamers are much too harsh and critical and rough on the devs and the companies so I rarely engage in this kind of discussion. I love the game so much and I can't even imagine what theseprogrammers are going through under such tough deadlines to try and get this done. However, I think this is a huge mistake and is a slap in the face to people like Serena and me who have been loyal players since the beginning. You've taken away almost everything important to my character. Do I really want to continue to play this game? Surely, you could have gathered some of the longest playing doctors on each of the servers to get some feedback before committing this brutal change.

I wonder if they really pay attention to what we as the paying public have to say or are we just noise in the backgroung?

I don't understand how the dev's can convert buff packs to stims and not enhancers
it is like converting composite armor to bone armor or a t-21 rifle to a cdef pistol.
I have been a doc/ crafter for 2 years put away millions of resources and now because I didn't collect the combat med resources i'm SOL.
I'll see how the game evolves in the next few weeks but if changes don't occur I might as well cancel my 3 crafting toons and just play my Jedi.
The key here is that the Devs said that existing meds would be converted into something useful. Currently, enhancers are useless.
See? The Devs are just trying to be nice. ![]()
