One thing I'm greatful for is the fact that I only collected enough resources to make myself supplies. Though it is sad I won't be able to do that anymore... maybe I can find a BE to take this stuff off my hands. It is the best on the server....

Yes, that may be true. Components may be converted but no way people who have spent 10s of milions of dollars on avian meat will get their creds back. I do not see avian meat holding its current worth and resources being the big hit Docs will take on creds, for those who have several stacks of the best doc resources on their server. I am cautious of the CU ebing a doc/swords. I honestly never sold buffs or crafted anything so that part will not bother me but I can see where people who make their living off buffs and stuff would be really pissed.
"Every investment involves Risk"
We are all in the same boat....but that is the risk you take when you buy resources for 250 CPU. I've said it from day one its not that hard to pick up scout and get it yourself for free and make money from missions. Everyone has resources....and even I will be upset if Avian meat is turned into just "another meat".....
Yup I'm the same way, When I moved to Starsider, I had no intention of mas producing, so I only got enough for me. But on the flip side you got about a month to buff like crazy or craft buffs like crazy. I don't see the demand dropping...
I have to sell armor to make sure I have enough money for after the CU. I'm going to be so overload with AS that I really doubt I'll be putting much time into my.
But I am going to get to do a little hunting with him tonight

Be careful how you state your dislike of 'magic based' healing... you may have a Dev come and call you greedy.

I actually love the changes, it sounds like it just what I was looking for. I however don't like the fact that we will have no consumables to sell / use. I don't care if I can craft.....but I personally don't like "Magic Based" healing.
Greedy?
I can neither confirm nor deny that the above scenario happened or not.
But, if it did happen, it may have been due to the fact that certain parties believed I/we were against the crafting changes/move because we are/were/will be buffbots and merchant docs who craft and not heal.
Everytime I see this I'm just stunned that anyone, much less the level you seem to be ascribing, has a problem with those playstyles.
While I am not a large-scale seller of meds, anyone that pays their $15/month should be able to play whatever they wish, within the limits of the game.
Ascribing people who make and sells meds as bad for the game is beyond ridiculous.

ok...as i understand it...medical related consumables are now entirely under BE. not sure if this been brought up...but wouldnt this add to some economic imbalance? Currently ..a lot of MBEs are also paired with Master Chef. which means they have reign over 2 markets (foods/drinks and pets/pet related consumables). this change essentially gives them a third market free....and at the same time...taking the market away from 2 other professions.
The thing about that is they really don't want to make our supplies. They have enough to deal with already.
The further explain...from what is understood...BE's can make Stims and Enhancers that anyone can use. Healers now have abilities, not items. So BE isn't really making anything for us directly.

thats the jist of what i get....cms and docs no longer have any consumables. but some docs/cms went into the medical supply business..either as a side thing or primary. there still will be a demand if not moreso now for individual healing consumables.
while this is a shot in the arm so to speak for BE as a standalone crafting prof...like i said...most are combined with Chef....and thus are already overworked to maintain food supplies. i think most BEs were asking for crafting mods...not additional crafting. but imagine the income potential if someone does all 3...food...pets...and meds....all at the cost of only 2 professions. not to mention support for tailors. seems a bit off kilter if you ask me.

I disagree with that statement. All that says is they have the right to change game play as they see fit. What he's saying is that if people who craft and buff a lot are the reason they're changing, then it's crap because that's a legitimate playstyle...
I happen to agree with him as I also craft pharmaceuticals en masse. However I also buff and heal, but to be told that I'm wrong or bad in any way simply because I choose to play the crafting or buffing side of the profession rather than the much glorified healer side is way off base...
All we crafters have been hearing lately is "healer good=crafter bad" and words to that effect. (If the only reason you became a doctor is to make money then you're the lowest form of life in the medical food chain and need to be driven out of our noble profession...).
I'll make one statement to any and all players, devs, or casual readers. Get off your "holier than thou" high horses...

I understand and what I was meaning is that you have every right to play anyway you want within the limitations of the game. If they change it, still play how ever you like but nothing says that the system will stay the same as it was.
I wish alot of things haddn't changed in this game but they do, and I live with it.

The problem is that this ceased to be a viable thread long ago. It has turned into MyT_Chicken's forum to announce (rather loudly) that he is thrilled with the changes and that anyone who isn't should just wait and see how happy he will be.
In case that sounded harsh, it was intended. I mean no disrespect, I have actually found it entertaining to watch these threads grow and see how many times he can defend the CU in these same threads with the same basic argument. I, of course, am on the opposite side of the fence. I am one of those 'not real Doctors' in that I run a pharmaceutical business fairly exclusively and I liked it that way. I lament the loss of viable product that are actually interesting to produce. We will have to see the schematics of course, but I don't hold much hope for enhancers being a viable product for my resource quantity/quality in inventory. I understood that there was a risk in my business practice of holding too much inventory in expensive resources, but I have also tried the pharmaceuticals business without holding an inventory of avian meat and you simply cannot do it if you are looking to do it in volume.
I am glad that MyT_Chicken is happy, honestly.
I now await his rosey-colored reply...
You can think whatever you want about me. I'm only giving people information that they are overlooking. If you can prove me wrong in any way please do so. Until then you have no right to say that I'm trying to basically convert people because of what I say. It's my RL job to think out side the box....to look at everything from the middle ground, because if I don't...then I become someone like you who attacks idea's, opinions, and fact for no other reason then starting a fight.
Prove me wrong then we can continue my "rosey-colored" replies
