Yes. Essentially de-valueing our current stockpile of resources. Docs bought those resources because they offered a great benefit while crafting. If they hadnt had any use, they wouldnt have been valueable. But with their use going away, their value also goes away. Sad enough, if you ask me. Current crafting docs would have been better off not stockpiling the good resources, but stockpiling cash instead. Sad enough, if you ask me
I have yet to see any solid reason why this change is _neccessary_, because if there is not a very good reason behind doing this, one could say it is griefing players.
But yes, metal smelters shouldnt be required to craft items.

I would rather devalue the 10s of millions I have now than for it to continue to happen into the future presumably forever.

LoL Because they have nothing betterto do that to piss off player and make them quit? Right...These are no longer Doctor meds, as such they are no longer resigned to requirements for items that no longer exist, they are more in line with what BEs have as requirements.

Right - I paid a lot for meat with high OQ, PE and DR. It is pretty hard to get meat that is great in all three stats. With DR not mattering anymore, an OQ 1000 / PE 1000 / DR 1000 meat will be as valueable as an OQ 1000 / PE 1000 / DR 0 meat. Three stats high meant more expensive than two stats high when I bought the meat. But me paying more for DR 1000 doesnt matter now anymore, because the meat got de-classed from three-high-stat to two-high-stat.
Simple example: I have some 900+/200+/900+ avian meat. And I have some 800+/900+ gases to go along with it. This combination would make low-powered long-duration PvE grinding buffs. Now its only worth as much as OQ and PE justify. So with 900/200 and 800, those resources are moved from my PvE-grade resources to my little-better-than-griding resources.
Thats how its being de-valued, and I think nerfing current crafting docs doesnt make sense, also.

Dunno - Im still waiting for a dev to troll into the Doc or BE forums. Apparently AS and CMs currently get the dev attention, I hope its our turn soon, also. I dont know how they laid out their schedule internally, if they have Blixtev and SOE_Helios jumping around taking a few professions at a time or if we got assigned another dev that just hasnt shown up yet.

The only way you could make these requirements suck worse is if they added talusian wooly. Shellfish? Ok, if you add underwater harvestors and get rid of these damned buggy shellfish tools that wont stack resources. Milk? JUST SAY NO THERE...eggs hahahahahahaaaa.............what a joke
