okay I'm a master doctor ... i've been one minus the few weeks it took me to level since august spanning 2 servers .... I don't like sitting in coro buffing, it's boring ... but I can see how it could be a very nice source of income for new doctors ... however we have a very well established player that has caused the price of avian while in shift to triple in the last few weeks because of what she was offering cpu wise ... its still well under what most servers pay so i'm not complaining on that front ... that is just part of the thing that adds tomy list of grivances with him ... but the main point is this ... those new doctors i was talking about .... i've had several reports in the last few weeks or so that tell me that this doctor is a coronet buff bot ... this is fine ... i knew this ... however when those new docs go to coronet he lowers his prices ... drastically ... barely covering the money he spent on the avian .... drops his prices from the 12k average in coronet at the moment to 2k ... just to get the new doctors to leave ....
now my question is this .... is this acceptable behavior? Is this somthing that is accepted by the doctor community? I'm seriously considering parking myself where I know she'll be and when she starts doing that refusing to leave ... this is not .... in my mind ... the way to run a successful enterprice and is squeezing all the profits out for new doctors ....
*sigh*
... maybe I'm overreacting .....

If I were in your shoes, I'd simply get a guildie to put an AFK buff-bot right next to the person so she'd lower her price and then shout "BUFFS 2k!!! Send tell to Evil Buff Bot!" all over Coronet.
But I'm maybe a bit too vindictive...at times.

Get some friends to help you and send them to Theed, set up to buff in front of her. Once she lowers her prices have your friends start spamming that she is buffing for 2k in Coronet, with no wait in Theed you could have a lot of people checking it out. See how many of those 2k buffs she is willing to give up. Even with a bot she will notice the drop in profits pretty quickly.

She's trying to corner the market. There's nothing specifically wrong with it. It's pure capitalism, but that doesn't mean you can't use countermeasures.
I would gang up on her and make sure someone's right on top of her as often as possible, and let her run herself out of packs at 2k. She won't keep that up for long.
Drop a merchant barker droid in Theed advertising that she's buffing for 2k, just like the other poster said. And ask everyone to send her a tell.
Between tell hell and the massive demand for unprofitable 2k buffs, she'll either get the picture or be miserable.

I've run into this same problem with another master doc, who says the reason her buffs are cheaper is because she does all the harvesting and hunting herself.
I myself cannot buff for 8k. I have 1 food and chemical factory, 1 equipment factory, 2 houses (one someone put up for me), 1 deep crust chemical extractor, 2 personal water vaporators,3 flora farms,1 personal mine and 1 vendor. I pay maintenance on all of these with the exception of the equipment factory and the personal mine. I pay 20k for the houses, both factories and the vendor once a month. While I'm hunting for my resources OR surveying my food and chemical factory is at work.
I rarely have time to goof off with friends except while buffing. I figure with all the time and labor I put into my buffs, 10k is not alot to ask for. I've been told I should be charging more. I can't see doing that, why? Because I just don't feel I'm THAT good. A couple of people think otherwise and will tip me 50k for buffs .. this covers the freebies I give out to people who can't afford a buff or forget to come back and tip me upon mission payment. I have sent email reminders, but think that's kind of rude even tho I've rendered a service and payment is to be expected. I just keep a list and will email them later on, asking for the current highest OQ meat on the planet I'm buffing. Usually that works with no quarrels. Go figure.
I've even seen the prices of buff packs on vendors and still cannot see how 8k is feasible.
I guess it's just me.
The only thing that gets me is the guy screaming that's he's buffing for 15k+, people complain, he says oh, well .. you don't like it, find another doc ..they usually end up paying it because they don't want to leave the planet for a buff. If I'm buffing, I usually ask the docs that are already there if they don't mind me setting up shop. It works most of the time, but I'm usually lost in the "tell hell spam" that they're getting. I've even had new doctors show up and do the same. I don't have a problem. We agree on a price together and if I have a line .. I always send them to the other line if she/he has none. If they are my regulars, I sometimes ask if they don't mind giving he/she a bit of business.
I guess I'm too nice, eh?

Who cares what the other guy is selling buffs for? There is such a high demand that if you have a good product you can sit right beside and undercutter and still get your price. Most people will gladdly pay the 10k or so for a buff just to not to have to sit in a line.
Let the other doc charge what they want. You just worry about yourself and all will work out.
Even if they were giving the buffs for free there still is such a large demand that no one person can impact the price.

I think I know who you're talking about.....if I'm right then she's the one who is mainly responsible for a quadrupling of avain prices pretty much over night.

I perosnally play on bria (We had some 40 billion credits duped on, so our economy is screwed to heck and back) and I welcome, encourage doctors to charge less then 15k (Most are 12-15k on bria, I find this rediculious since they all whine about paying 20cpu for avian)
When I buffed, i buffed for 8k, that is a 250% profit from buying everything except the avian, which (On lok) was VERY easy for me to get 10k of, in an hour and a half
I personally think that the economy demand on SWG is a bit out of hand, especially with armorsmiths, Jedi(need armor, pearls, etc) and Doctor buffs/resources.
But thats just my opinion
Me personally, hurrah to the persons motive for charging 2k(to attempt to balance out the economy methinks) but I doubt it will have any lasting effect

Just Keep on saying that you buff for 12k and that there is no line, people will come to get buffed. The person will eventually get discuraged from getting only 2k from people. Also I do not think that it harasment since you are simply telling of a service, much like telling friends of a good weaponsmith. Also they have the ability to refuse service and to deny people, it is not like you are baraging her will tells cursing her out. HOWEVER this is my opinion, and not SOE's, thereforth, proceed with caution.
Good Luck, May the Force Be With You, Etc. Etc.

what wrong with her lowering her prices to 2k? she looses money and builds up a HUGE line. Most people i know would tip 30k for a really short line. if she lowers prices then shout "selling buffs for 12k!!! really short line!"

Add to that "standing your ground" and you're set. She'll get the message or go away. Even if she lowered her prices to 8 or 9k, you will have the shorter line, and thus no shortage of profit.
