Thread: Force xp please raise hard cap on medical xp

With publish 10 proposed force xp trade in can we please have the stupidly low cap on medical xp bumped up. I realy dont want to keep going to dath every half hour.

NO. I mean i hate medxp cap, but I've lived through it going down. I've regrindedDoctor alot (thank you hologrinding ) I don't want people to get Jedi XP that easily...

Mahir, are you aware of how much medical xp is needed to unlock just one branch of a tree? You will need 24.5 MILLION medical xp (if that is all you use). If the current cap is 80k, which I believe it is, that's over 300 trips to the village to convert xp. Never mind that you have to perform > 20000 buffs to get that much xp (like 680 buffpacks, if each pack has 30 uses). And that's just one out of 4 branches which medical xp can be used in and doesn't include the novice box.

Ouch.

so? Getting medical Xp does not even require your attention with recursive macros. People complain about to many Jedi now...

Also I don't think people won't grind the heck out of this system. I wouldn't be surprised to see doctors in or near the village calling e pet, buffing, storing and repeating or otherwise grind medical xp. I mean, people will always grind and this grind will be the worst.

Of course, selling buffpacks might never have been such a good business opportunity. That said, I honestly doubt anyone in their right mind will attempt to unlock using anything but combat xp anyway so this is probably a moot point.

Oh and recursive macros are going away (and boy do we know why now) so you'll be required to cheat (third party app) or be ATK. If it was possible to get the xp needed playing the game I'd be all for it though I doubt a majority of the docs buffs fulltime. BTW, what is the delay between buffs anyway?

Valid points 15 seconds as Master Doctor, so you need to make it go 16 seconds for the next command

My point exactly 300 trips to dath costing 8-10k round trip , possible 10 mins sat waiting on starports. Getting the xp is going to be horrendous enough.

BUT IT HAS TO BE HORRENDOUS... does no one understand this? Everyone goes like "oh noes this profession was just to hard to grind, so i stopped". Everyone wants to be Jedi but don't want to really try for it either. At least this has to do with doc stuff... sort of...


and you can't complain about shuttle waits now that its 5 minutes. I can get just about anywhere now in like 5 minutes flat.

I agree 100%. Getting to be force sensitive and becoming a Jedi Initiate should be part of enjoying the rest of the game, not the central goal of the game. Do the normal things you do to as a doctor, and you will get the exp. Sure, it will require visiting Dath a lot, but becoming a Jedi should be hard work. I think that's what the devs are trying to implement.

Agreed. It should be hard to be a Jedi (within reason), hopefully enjoyable and definitely something to treasure.Unfortunately,manypeople will just want to have what they want with the least effort regardless of the impact to the game or their future enjoyment of it.

There's a difference between hard and insanely, retardedly, HORRENDOUSLY difficult.


And then look at the reward...


No one on this side of sanity will be using medical XP to unlock if the conversion rate is the same for both medical and weapon XP. Period. An 80k XP cap isn't the problem, the rate is. Since they've already taken the main incentive away for crafting FS skills, what's the point? I haven't had anything less than a Great Success while crafting for months using in-game means, so what do crafters gain that is a suitable reward for that degree of mindless grinding and expense?


This isn't even CLOSE to the degree of difficulty that combat skills will require to advance. Sure, make it difficult, make it time consuming, but make it possible.
