Thread: What to do about BANK tips

I think it sux that we cant tell if someone just sends us an email saying they tipped us rather than it at least coming up on screen that they did so. I think 3/5 buffs I give, people bank tip and it just looks like an email. This needs to be fixed! Even tho I advertise telling them to either tip from their pockets or to tip me doing trade, they all bank tip and then they call US the scammers for not accepting it.

I know it stinks. About 8 out of 10 people who I buff bank tip me. I've got my inventory open all the time now but I still miss it since people don't FOLLOW

I never really understood why we have bank tips anyway. Just let the system tip from your bank automatically. I keep the majority of my credits there as it is. I agree they should fix this.

oops. hit enter by accident, People don't FOLLOW DIRECTIONS. I say don't tip until called. But I constantly get tipped before I call people. I end up with a line of 8 people and most of them bank tip me before I get to them. It's ridiculous. I put all info on my buffs and I still get people asking how much they cost, how long the last, etc. Can't these people read? LOL. I swear I want to smack em.

Yep I agree with da spikey cute woman, I think its absurd people dont read and they constantly ask how much it is and they dont follow directions on how to tip. I dont see why anyone would wanna bank tip and spend the extra 5% when they can just tip from their own pockets. I truly think they bank tip cuz its easy to scam that way. Even tho I catch them doing it and my bank doesnt change after they bank tip me, they all start yelling out "I TIPPED YOU CHECK YOUR EMAIL WHY ARE YOU SCAMMING ME?".....they need to FIX this! They should fix it so that it at least gets displayed on screen or the email comes from the BANK and not the person who tipped.

I buffed 40 people last night, I got scammed 25 times....sigh.

I just instruct people not to tip me until I ask them to and that no buffs will be tossed until I see the tip of credits on my screen, or I get the e-mail confirming the transfer of funds. It only takes like 30 seconds to get the e-mail.. hey can wait that long.

I just wanted to see how many would stiff me so I just buffed and looked at my total when I was finished, 25/40 stiffed me.....some tipped me 10K which Ive seen across my screen, so Im sure there were more who didnt tip me. Like I said, even tho I tell them to tip me when they are up and when I question them about their money not showing in my inventory, I am the one that gets called a scammer and they act like a child. Oh wait, they are prolly children, what am I saying!

I actually had one guy saying he wanted a refund the next day stating i didnt buff him and he tipped me. Its funny, i went through my log (no tip), checked email (no tip). People are getting worse with this too. Something needs to be done. I say we make a petition for a "Donators List" Make it show people for say the last 24 hours in this list. It would show people who did bank tip and normal tip.
This would solve 2 problems

Plus it would be good for dancers, and people healing since they would know who kindly tipped them and they could thank them.

This is a big Dev issue, they are working on something to make the e-mail easily seen as system created only.. As this gets passed around, more and more people get scammed.
Please open CSR tickets on people you catch. They deserve to be yelled at for being jerks... maybe risking their acct. for cheating people will smack some sense into them. If you report them to the CSRs, do not delete the fake mail... keep it as evidence.

I've sat down to do a morning of buffing with zero balance in my bank, I do this on purpose. Then while buffing, even though my /yell announcing I'm buffing specifically says plz no bank tips, people often /tip via the bank. I always try to open my inventory to see if the bank balance has changed or not. Sometimes it's just too busy and too laggy though.
Anyway, during these times (you know what I'm talking about, you have a dozen people sitting around you asking when they're next and you're receiving a /tell every ten seconds and the hawkers around you are /yelling so often with spam you'reforced to scroll up to see who last sent you a /tell everytime someone sends you one and you're just about ready to pull all your hair out) it isn't easy to monitor the bank tips. And finally when the rush subsides you open your inventory and see 30000 then check your Email and see 5 emailed bank tips. Right away you know there is a descrepancy and you study each of the Emails but they all look perfectly correct to you.
How do you spot a forged Email bank transfer?
And what about those times you did have your inventory open and watched an Email arrive but saw your bank balance didn't change? I've had this happen twice now and I confronted the people both times. They swear up and down that they did/tip via the bank, that they got a confirmation, and that I'm ripping them off if I refuse to buff them. Then they get real uppity and say I'm lying or that I'm buggy or whatever.
Do I refuse to buff them even though they go and start yelling to everyone that I ripped them off? Then other people get involved, because we all have had those people ask us why we don't want bank tips, and in a matter of minutes there's a huge fuss involving multiple people.
Bah, I sure hope this is fixed soon.

On a legitimate bank tip, the senders name will be properly capitalized, ie "Buff Buyer". On a forgery, the name will be in lower case letters, ie "buff buyer".
I'm at the office ATM, someone please verify. Pretty sure I have it right, but it may be vice versa. Either way, the name is different between forgeries and real system-sent e-mails.
