Thread: Able to fly with Max Wounds

Currently Pilots are able to fully function all HAM barsblack. There is absolutely no need, as long as you are staying in space and not doing ground missions, to seek the services of Medic or Doctor.

This is a significant lack of integration with the ground game. I'd recommend this be raised as one of your "issues of concern" with your correspondent.

Yeah that's pretty nutty. You shouldn't be able to fly unless you pass the Flight Surgeons exam. (Like you shouldn't have X% of your HAM black) and though you may be able to fly with a certain amount being black it will affect you if X% is black.

It should work something like battle fatigue. If you have over 150 combined points of wounds from your HAM then it will begin to affect your flying skills. If you have more than 30% Black combined points then you shouldn't be able to launch until you get it healed.

Anyway... something along those lines.

I would disagree with this as being a problem. Having 1 HAM doesn't stop me shooting at you with +100 accuracy and speed in the ground game .In JTL, your HAM has nothing to do with your ships shields and armour, and even though we'd like it to affect your performance, it's not consistant with the rest of the game.

Hey....I am with you guys, really. The Devs are doing their damnest to put in a hard divider between the ground and space purposefully and it irks me terribly.

I would love people not to be able to pilot with 500+ BF. The wounds do not bother me all that much, a novice medic can heal them and lets be honest...more that 50% of the combatants already have Novice Medic for the Stims.

I agree definitely. Currently it's inconsistent to make flight degrade with wounds, but BF could have an effect like it currently does on the ground.

I think any change though would be put in with the combat balance and assessed in within that framework, as there are rather large changes coming which make a lot of current points and advice out of date...

I disagree. You can fight with any level of battle fatigue or wounds. You should also be able to fly that way.

On the whole, these wounds are a boon to doctors. We actually get to heal again. But holding players hostage to NEEDING doctors, when they are unable to find one, is too much in my opinion.

When buffs are nerfed in whatever way the Devs see fit, which will probably be changing the formula to a much lower multiplier of the power of the pack itself, people are going to be "held hostage" to getting their wounds healed anyways b/c they are no longer going to have that 2000-2600 buffer of unwoundable HAM.

This is my theory anyways... Personally, I agree that wounds should not affect space flight, while Battle Fatigue should. Tho, if you think about it, it's kinda hard to fly a ship when you have near severed limbs and severe internal bleeding [comparetive to black HAM bars].

None, but then again he wasnt wounded to the point of death where as if a dwarf nuna could blow on him and knock him over.

a completely black bar indicates you should be in a hospitol bed.... not flying a ship, I DO see your point on you can still fight on groundwith a black bar.... but you wont fight for very long.

Seems ridiculous to me personally that someone with their guts hangin out can hop into a ship and fly it. luke had his hand cut off, he could barely see straight when they got him in the ship, and he was probably only half blacked :0)

NerfSlayer does have a very good point. But man, if your bars are all blacked out, it just makes so much sense that you'll be pratically useless in ANYTHING you try to do.

I know I've mentioned this somewhere before, how battle fatigue and wounds should affect your skill mods including whatever "piloting" mods that will be added. After a certain threshold (like maybe 500 BF and/or 50% of max HAM or secondary stats) your skill mods should start to decrease at a geometric rate. I'm all for a slightly more realistic game.
