Thread: The Lok ring of doctor hate

Went to Lok last night with a bodyguard to see how the resources were. Wheat looked like it shifted to be pretty good, and there was really good class 4 petro which I hadn't seen on any other planets. Yay!


So we head out... and hit a ring of almost inpenetrable Nym bases surrounding the city, along with some mercenary camps, birds, and other craziness. The droidekas in the Nym camps are aggro now, very good eyesight, close to impossible to kill, and there are a TON of them. First run out, we're hit by like 5 droidekas and killed. Pop in the clone center (which is packed, btw). Head out again very very very carefully, making huge detours. Finally manage to find a hole where we only have to kill birds and mercenaries, but find no good wheat or petro spots in that direction. Scout around, and the only good spots seem to be surrounded on all sides by Nym hell. Eventually killed again and give up...


I had been avoiding Lok latelybecause of stories like this. But god, this was worse than I imagined. I suppose it's everyone picking uptheir oh-so-tempting 17kNym missions, the camps spawning too close to town, and then people not finishing or not being able to finish their missions. Hopefully raising the spawn radius helps a little, but even so it's frustrating that every time someone gets a mission it spawns a new camp. Why not give people camps from aborted missions?


I'm glad I've still got a big stockpile of wheat. I wonder if I'll ever get new wheat again... :/

The Lok ring of Hate has been around for some time, although it has gotten worse. I have to check mine tonight and, if I can get to it, I'll simply empty it and redeed.

Can't deal with Lok solo, and hate to ask friends to handle it for me.

All you need to do is get past the ring - buff up, weave around, burst run, and heal a lot. =)


Once you're ~2000m out the spawns are few and far between and it's easy to survey for resources, set up harvesters, etc.


I don't think people are doing the Nym missions much more in any case - they used to be bugged and werevirtually free money. Now *all* the Nym defend each other and if you kill any you get negative Nym faction. A handfull of those missions and every Nym on Lok would attack you on sight and no one wants that. =)


The regular Nym's and Nym Droidekas are not aggro, there are however plain "Droidekas" that are and they're very nasty.


You can't hit autorun and go grab a drink from the fridge, but it's not that bad to get through it. =)

Yeah, I am *SO* glad I was able to pull 20k of Lokian Wild Wheat out my harvesters last week, before they turned insurance back on.

Is insurance back on? I didn't see a mention of it in the notes.

Collecting wheat on LOK isn't that difficult especially if you run more than 2KM in any direction from the base. Before I knew about using harvester, I have actually managed to sample macro while i am sleeping and working and never got killed at all (What surprise me is that Survey IV actually sample more resources than a medium harvester)

But one thing I wasn't really happy about today patch --- all the snorbal went for a diet programme, and now only give 30-40 herb meats per corpse. Used to be able to get more than 100 meats from the Elder

I haven't hate problem with nym since I have good enough sense to avoid red dots and even droids that are yellow. The merc missons still payout 16k and don't have a standing issue. Don't forget you still have speed burst and even with a buffpack a or b you can get a 300-700 buff using good components more than enough to buff your regen via substats enough to absorb those hits in a short period of time.

Well I actually do my surveying on a second character, since I don't have enough skill points to survey well myself. So healing/buffing myself as I sprinted through aggro was not an option. :/

Well, admitedly it isn't that bad on Eclipse, but it is possible their server is seeing a LOT more activity on the planet. Just like you might find lots of folks calling Nashul, Talus home on one server, and find it a ghost town on another.

Yeah, I am *SO* glad I was able to pull 20k of Lokian Wild Wheat out my harvesters last week, before they turned insurance back on. Good luck ever *getting* to a spot and placing harvesters now, let alone getting *back* to the harvester, pulling the stockpiles out, and getting the resources safely back to town. I expect to see Lokian Wild Wheat starting to sell for like 10 or 20 credits per unit on the bazaar now that you have no good way to get resources from harvesters on Lok. Sure, you could try to get a team of bodyguards to help you get to the harvester and back, but then you are looking at 1600 credits(roundtrip from Tatooine, probably more expensive from other planets) per player, so if you get 5 people to join you, that's almost10k creds you gotta spendon shuttle tickets. Plus another 10k to run 4 harvester for 2-1/2 days, plus another 10k creds to go empty your harvesters (gotta bring your A-team with you again),you are looking at 30k creds, or more, spent on generating approx20k of Lokian Wild Wheat. Yeah, that only breaks down to 1.5 creds/unit, but that's still more than you'd be spending on most other resources. This, of course, assumes you have friends who will accompany you for only the price of the shuttle tickets to get them there, lol.

At least your not a rifleman. I can't count how many times I've been one hit killed on lok.
Any melee mob's that agro at 60+ meters and teleport to you. It sucks.
Also if you are grinding through crafting watch closely to you resources.
I was practing abec's waiting for a transport. And some how I put 12k of wild wheat in one abec. I have yet to hear from a csr to get it back. Been over a week now.

Last night on Lok, on my run to my harvesters (69% baby!) I encountered super light resistance. I think there are two things going on. . .


1) There are natural "groups" or "multiple groups" of MOB's in certain areas at all times and there are areas that for the most part are usually barren


2) It seemed like they actually turned down the number spawned lairs


Honestly, I barely saw anything that would actually attack me while I had maskscent on. Only ran into two groups of bloodrazors and a few non aggro nym camps. Good thing I never ran Nym missions.

It's supposed to only cut down on what you get when you're grouped, but that doesn't appear to be what is occurring. Rather, you get the cut rate ALL THE TIME. This stinks for going solo, but it's great in a group. A few days ago, a bunch of us went Snorbal hunting and we had a ranger that was pulling around 100 units off them. Now, he pulls 50, but I pull 25, another scout pulls 25, and another scout pulls 25 - that's 125 units, which is MORE than we used to get.


I guess, until this is fixed, for scouts to team up and hunt together - the monsters look "fatter" that way.
