Thread: Why can't I ever find a doctor to heal wounds since CU?

Are you all hanging out in some secret place now or something?

Went to Coronet at 6pm eastern and the med center was empty. Had to run around for 20 mins shouting for wound heals until I finally got help.

This is stupid, there is enough down time as it is.

you cannot find a Doctor to heal your wounds because currently the only way for a Doctor to gain xp is for us to use our sub par healing skills WHILE IN COMBAT. So, all the Docs are probably in groups... healing very little and gaining much aggro for their trouble.

Yeah, I am new to the profession, does not mean that I can't see the faults.

This has been a huge problem for me also. How do the Devs expect players to get healed if there aren't Docs in the cities?

Looks like were in for a lot of "Group looking for healer" spam. And if youlike to solo or just are online at off hours I think you're out of luck.

Well, it's nice to see other players finally realizing that how the devs screwed us docs is affecting them, too.

Just don't aim your anger at us about it. We'reonly following what the devs have forced onto us. Most of us docs seem to want some xp gains in the medical centers from wound healing, so that everyone else knows where to find us and we can continue to help out other players outside of combat.

Try the player search facility next time. Did you not used to use it to get Doc buffs pre CU?

Do a search for all doctors then send them a polite tell asking for some wound healing and I'm sure they'd oblige.

What he said.

I noticed people dont usually tip docs for wound heals (got 1 tip so far for random healing), so I dont have my doctor tag up and rather just join groups to get mission payouts and xp.

I hope the devs soon realize that preventing docs from getting xp outside of combat in order to get rid of tumbler power grinding was a bad choice and that they should have removed recursive macros instead.

Put on top that CM is a better choice for healing for regular players (same healing power, but ranged healing _and_ offensive capabilities and using up 14 skill points less for ranged fighters), Jedi Healer healing far superior to Doc and CM heals, and Doc buffs not really worth the effort, and you know why a lot of docs left the profession and the remaining ones are not at starports or hospitals anymore.

Players go where the game is, and the doctor game is not in the med center anymore. The more I play the CU the less reason I see to resubscribe my doctor account.

If they want us out in the field, well, there we are.

That means if you want wound heals, and don't have an active guildie who has a doctor, you are stuffed.

It's stupid, I know, but there it is.

I tried some of the tumbling moves and have yet to see any that now give any Wounds. In fact come to thnk of it, what DOES give a player Wounds in CU?

I'm serious about this question. If the Developers have removed getting getting wounds for tumbling and the reason for Docters not getting XP outside of Combat is because of Tumbling Macros, then is there any reason remaining for Docters to not get XP outside of Combat?

Personally I'd enjoy seeingthe Developers giving Docters the ability to heal Wounds while in a Medical Center,as that it would give the places a purpose again. There would also be the nice additional side effect of making it easier to find a Docter that might heal a players wounds. Hmm. maybe a crazyer thought but perhaps allow Docters to get a bonus to thier Wound Xp if thier in a group on the Med center (Trauma teams prehaps? )

Sorry I'm letting my mind wander.

But anyway I'd be interested in finding out what all the ways are for a player to receive Wounds are. Anyone know? Perhaps Tiggs of someone from SOE could help answer? I really am curious what the reason for Docters not being able to earn XP outside of Combat is, and if it is still valid? After all if the only reason was the tumbling macros and they removed gaining wounds for performing macros, then why keep Docters from earning xp in the Medical centers as well? Or is there something obvious I'm probibly missing?

Just curious.

becasue many docs dropped the prof...

jedi's realy DO heal way btr. i was healed last night by a random jedi who thankfully ninja healed me, for 544 wounds in about two-three secs...

the way i see it, the ONLY thing doc's have of worth now, is the adrenal buff...

Ill admit, that having a dedicated Doc in the field is a very usefull thing, the 10% buffs DO help, and the wund healign IS nice, but its just not worth an entire profesion... gettign CM as was posted above, is jsut better, the extra tree and a half in an elite ranged prof, will let you be more efective in combat, making superflouns having doc

So true Jebi and CM's have made Doctors redundant. It is getting to the stage where I can spot more Jebi with Healing templates than I can find master doc's. Don't mind sharing the healing with CM's but jedi can cure all states now and wounds? I didn't take up master doc to run around with my guildies and give em buffs every 40min. About the only thing keeping me with master doc atmis the memory of being needed in combat. adv bacta shot and bacta infusion go a little way in helping the bitteraid I have to swollow but it is a long way from the hayday of everyone running/screaming for me for a cure heal rez.

Because the Devs took away one of the few working professions since day one and nerfed it. Since all you non-docs bitched and moaned about paying for buffs, or the price of stim b's. Since players wanted to heal themselves without having to grab novice medic. Our profession has gone poof along with many others.

Many of us gave up doc. My dancer has novice medic and used to heal those wounded that showed up in cantinas but now she is unable to. I do see many of you shuttling into player cities yelling for heals of your wounds but we have few left that can do it. It's not that we don't see your pleas for help, we just can't help you anymore. I actually have better luck begging a jedi for a heal.
