Thread: LETS SET WOUND HEALING PRICE STANDERDS NOW ......
I'm not in this for the money, on none of my three chars
I just tend to tell people to tip what they think is acceptable for the service, but if they have a near full bar of wounds i think 5-10k isnt over the top considering how long it takes to heal that many wounds. But for people willing to stand in the med center andget no XP an estemated1k per button press would seem fairi think.
as for the price for buffing i feel like a rip off if i charge anything due to how long they last, but as darmokVtS said i didn't get into the profession to make money.
Charging for wound healing and buffing as a doc just smacks of desperation and elitism.
It costs you nothing, only nutirent inhection has an enhancer and chef buffs to enhance the enhancement durationare not worth using.

That is, quite frankly, a laughable excuse to charge people, you wont make any money out of it as most docs will just do it for free.
I quite enjoy slapping buffs and wound heals on random players.
Wound heals:
<200 5K
200-300 10K
300+ 15K
Rez (assuming I'm going to have to travel)
50K low level planets
100K Dathomir/Endor/Yavin
Free for light Jedi (gotta help the faction)
Buffs free on request.
As for the wound heals, I'm charging for my TIME, as the heals are very slow. If they sped it up, I'd charge a 5K flat rate.

I ask for 0 credits and a kiss. The kiss is optional of course but nice!
If they tip me I give it back, and give them extra buffs if I forgot to. If they tip me again I give it back again, as I get my money from missions. If you can get money off people with wounds then I guess good for you, and good luck. I hope there are enough idiots out there to pay for something that costs nothing, but that's not your fault it's theirs, and because of that I really wish you the best. ![]()
Hmm, I must be one of the odd few that respeced INTO Doctor in the CU... and gave up BH ![]()
While I agree that the wound healing is horribly slow and needs fixing, I don't charge people for buffs or heals (unless they are extremely black barred, then I will set a price for my time).
I will charge for a Rez, but only if I am making a "House Call", if I stumble upon someone in need, I will just do it... it isn't costing me anything to do so. I also will charge more if I need to go combatant or special forces as I am then taking on an added risk.
However, I am a doctor for RP reasons because I want to PLAY a Doctor, and that will effect how I interact.
Until there is more than just a time cost on Doctor skills, I cannot see charging for anything other than going out on a limb for someone.
I have never charged for buffs or wounds since the upgrade. People naturally just tip or bank transfer different amounts. Doctors are getting few and far between these days and players know this and gladly tip.
I can make 100k in about an hour just standing in front of a starport.

If only the r/l docs felt the same way!
I would concede that docs are doing the old "sitting around the starport barking their wares" routine your statement would apply. However if a player is going about his business with his Master Doc tag up and ppl start coming to him forhealing, then time, being a commodity, is worth money and I see nothing wrong with himcharging for it.

I'd be willing to place bets on that one. I tend to think those that charge for healing will indeed make money, albeit not much of it...

What a coincidence! I quite enjoy slapping random players too!
DarthRancor wrote:ok i found the post and would like to thank Aeon_Calcos for this posting of his that i pasted here for simplicity. please read and vote agree or disagree , thanks againI find found the conversion really easy to adapt too. I've been burned by too many people saying heyy can you heal my wounds? Only to see them have an almost entire black health bar. Many times they'll just say thanks when you're done and walk away. So i've set a standard price and pretty much everything but healing/rebuffing while grouped.full buff set 10k if they complain i'll raise it to 15k and ask if they want to go for 20k.Old buff prices ehh? Aparently you dont know that your buffs suck now. I'm not charging 10k becuase i'm making people invincible for 3 hours. I'm charging 10k because i spent my skillpoints to have something that you want.Wounds.000-100 5k101-200 10k201-300 15k301-400 20kDont like the prices? Go find another doc, look right over thereoh wait that's a droid-engineer, oh over there awwww that's a Master Dancer. Looks like you'll just have to spend 5 hours sitting in the medical center cuz you're too lazy to clone.Resurections - If they're a jedi the base pay is 100k no exceptions. if they're a combattant it's 200k, if they're overt it's 1million. No exceptions. They should have thought of someone jumping them while they were to busy camping a spawn point. Everyone else it's at least 50k more if i'm busy in a group. There's a lot of money to be made with doctor without the need to run a buff macro everytime you go to sleep.Take advantage of the opportunities presented to you. Without doctors everyones sitting in the medical center not having fun.
great post... i love it!
I agree with this price setting. I really cannot see why some doctors insist on thinking its not fair for us to charge for our services merely because it doesnt cost us anything.
If you can answer why any of the other professions that it costs nothing to to proveide a service should be justified in charging for their services while we should not, then I would change my mind. However, why should dancers accept money for their services? Everything they do costs them nothing. By the same merit, loot hunters and scout/rangers who sell their loot/resources are charging for things that cost them nothing. If I have all the resources to make my own are or weapon, why do weaponsmiths and armorsmiths still charge money for the service if I supply all the components? Why to Creature handles charge for pets that they just capture from the wild? Why do rangers charge for their tracking services?
If you answer that these people deserve compensation becuase we are using their time and they are being kind enough to help us, then why is that not the same for us. Until you can answer why all other professions that charge or services that cost them nothing should be able to charge for their services and doctors should not, then you are just wrong to say doctor's should not charge for their services. It is the height of hipocracy.
