Thread: How good should herbivore and Avian meat be?

Avian - OQ 900+, PE 800+ and DR 800+
The higher the better, but this is what I would consider the lowest to consider making a large amount of buffs.
Avian Meat: OQ 900+, PE 900+, DR 500+ (Below 900OQ and PE, I find my packs just don't have enough power plus you only need to spend 1 exp point on med use to get 90 or less... With DR 500 reactive and DR 500 avian [providing you have 900+OQ meat/reactive] you can get your packs toover 3hduration).
Usually PvP buffs need high power but duration is not that much of an issue.
PvE buffs are ok with a 1700 increase in stats but you want high duration so you don't have to run back to find another doc to buff you before you are done with whatever it is your were doing. It also depends on what level of PvE you are going for, DWB, Geo caves, meat/hide/bone hunt or just some plain fun.

You don't need 900+ power buff packs to be a very successful seller.
You don't need 900+ power buff packs to sell to the public.
You definitely don't need 900+ power buff packs to run missions or do most of the PVE content.
A rule of thumb I use for a minimum in Avian meat is OQ+PE=1600. When you add the 2 together and you get a number greater than 1600, you have some decent buffs.
900 OQ and 900 PE Avian meat is, usually, rare and very expensive to buy. So if you've got a lot credits and want to blow the bank, it's a not a bad idea.
As for Herbivore meat, as long as OQ+PE > 1500, I'll usually take it. Herb makes a bit of a difference, but you won't see a huge swing in power between average Herb and high-end Herb.
Your example of herb meat is exceptional at 1500+ (it caps at 1700), I would consider this using high-end herb.

Top of the line resources will always be the key. The extra 2 points are a nice bonus

I would say for my server no onebuys buffs under 875power (90 MU and under docs may purchase a little lower). You are right though about the PvE aspect

I think even using exceptional power components (ACRDM 65+ ASDS 70+) and using OQ+PE 1600 avian along with 800OQ gas (it's fair for me to use800OQ gasin my example as it would be equal to the meat used) you would max your buffs around 850power which isn't high enough for me. Personally I won't touch avian with less then 900OQ, since it is factored into every equation in a buffpack (Charges, Med Use, Duration &Power [both initial craft and experimentability])
I wouldn't consider it blowing the bank either to wait it out for the best spawns. Even if I bought my Avian at 200CPU, Gas for 10CPU and used Herb Meat costing 50CPU, I could still easily sell my buffs at 2x my cost (yes I am a nerd who has figured out all my production costs). I alsobelieve you get a better name for yourself trying to make the best items you can.Anybody can make a buffpack, it's the Doctors who hone their craft that excel in the profession.

10-pt docs can max out power
11-pt docs get the med use down a level
12-pt docs add a charge or two
Top of the line resources will always be the key. The extra 2 points are a nice bonus
P.S. this is not a flame response toeither of you

I've sold and still sell 800-850 buffs and of course 875 to 900+. Pricethem accordingly and they sell very well and fast. I've found customers want availability more than power (majority I mean - I do have customers who crave every single additional power point). They don't want to go to 10 places looking for buffs - they want a place that's always stocked. That is why I said 'what is your goal' because it will mean different considerations.
Also, I did assume that you'd have 900+ OQ gas. There's no exuse not to have 900+ gas, it's not that rare. Therefore, your numbers will go up with my rule of thumb.

What stats do you consider worth using? Considering you want to make top-of-line medicals?
Also how important is good Herbivore Meat for final stats?
I am not a doctor but considering it. Need to plan ahead

"top-of-the-line" stuff doesn't require 12 points. Your power will cap so low w/ crap resources that you won't even be able to use 12 points in the buff. Awesome resources are key, 12 points just proves that your rich enough to afford it.
For Gorath, the last 4 good spawns of herb meat have been 900 oq, and 600 pe, add up to 40 on each of those. AND b/c the best spawn of class4 on gorath since january has been 933 pe, and 595 oq, I'm hitting 59 power on my ACRDMs. Gorath is due for a killer class4 spawn any day now. We got a good wheat spawn right now. =]
For avian meat, 1600+ is a good number when you add oq and pe together. W/ good gas, you can get 840 at the lowest. The forumal for buffs is 40 + (the sum of all power on your components) + .25333(oq of avian + pe of avian + oq of gas). The DR you really can't be picky about. The last 900 oq and pe spawn of avian meat on gorath, the dr was only 400. I just take what I can get.
