Thread: I don't want Mind Damage Stimpacks, I want Mind Enhance Medpacks! What do you think?

Currently we can make 6 types of Enhance Medpacks, we are missing the 3 Mind related ones... why?


I can see why we can't heal Mind Damage (a totally different subject) but if we can enhance Health, Action and their 4 supporting attributes why can't we do the same for Mind? Enhance packs are half the reason for being a doctor.


In my view we need Enhance Mind, Focus and Willpower medpacks, what do you think?

Personally I think someone else should get it along with being able to heal the mind pool. Sure I'd love it if I could do the mind stuff, but I don't think it'd be right.

yes if mind damage is healable


no if mind damage is not healable


this all goes back to the idea of is mind damage physical as is it with headshot


or is mind damage trauma and psychological as in needing entertainers to heal.


if its case A then mind heal and mind buffs are fine.


ifs its case B, it makes no sense...


the problem with mind damage is it hasnt been defined by the devs in a clear way...until then its hard to answer this question...

The flaw to having the doctor do any enhancement to the mind pool is because then it would exploited. The doctor class would be no different to the Rifleman or Creature Handler. If a Doc could heal or enhance mind he would be more of a tankable class than they are now. You can't say you don't already see those "I'm a TKA/doctor so I can buff and tank" posts. The mind pool limits failsafe us as much as any other class. I have a 1100 mind pool and will still run out of mind to stim in large fights, that's a good thing, there should be no class that operates as a group battery. Anything like that removes the use of tactics in groups and endorses bruteforce EQ style combat. If that happened first off Doctors would be important because everyone would train the skill, it would also remove the need for the Squad Leader since tactics would be no more than the 2mins of buffing every hour before fighting something.

Right now an doctor with a res kit can res a corpse and they have enough mind to do something. I think that instead of asking for these mind buffs and heal people find so people to work with and go hunt. There are groups that are getting along fine without these buffs and even in beta when med had 1/5 of the charges they have now people could still get around.

Seeing people running around Dathomir raiding nests when people are already camping it or not shows to me that also people to have further power to solo on these planets will have disasterous effects on the game. Luke took down a Rancor because he was a jedi knight and had a huge metal gate handy not because he had buffpacks and mindshot or knockdown.

Food: Ormachek- +50 mind +50 focus +50 willpower 100s


Drink: Ice Blaster - +90 willpower 130s


Spice: Yarrock - +200 mind+100focus+100 willpower for 600s


Eat 8 Ormachek and drink 8 Ice Blaster, take one hit of Yarrock - and you're unstopable (or at least for 2 minutes). +600mind +500 focus +1220 willpower max potential


There's other stuffs, but this is the first combo I've come across. After 10 minutes you'll puke for 3, so make sure you're in a safe area

I like this idea. Buffs are balanced because they are incredibly resource expensive. Rifleman will remain the most deadly combat profession due to the lack of a heal for mind, but doctors will be able to mitigate this all class weakness. Keep in mind that buffed stats still need time to regenerate

problem is people will begin to migrate all to rifleman or BH for mind damage and the class balance will fall apart..


u already know that BH is the most popular class...i was reading somethere that almost 50% of the players are heading towards BH

I think that's a problem NOW, because Mind isn't highly buffable and because it can't be healed. So people already migrate to those classes, especially for PvP-types.


Seems to me buffable mind stat packs, equivalent to the enhances we use on the other two bars (whether a Doc does it or not, is irrelavent to me) would be a mitigator to that problem and stem the tide, to a small degree, of folks who want Rifle and BH just to take advantage of that.

I agree.



Yes - To mind enhance medpacks.


No - To mind damage stims.



I feel that entertainers should get the mind damage heal as it would give them a great skill to use outside the cantina or soothing our mind wounds in camp.


Something like 'Bob the entertainer gives you a massage and you feel much better'.


Well, ok, maybe not a massage, but some sort of instant hit mind damage heal would go well with the entertainers.

The only problem I see with Entertainers and mind damage stimming is that it's hard enough to find an entertainer in many places as it is. And since a cantina is the only place to heal BF, that can be a real problem.


Which of course is another reminder to always tip them well.

I agree that Doctors should be granted Mind and Mind-related Enhances. It only makes sense.

entertainers in combat? have them heal you in camp?

I need mind stims stat! Battle is a dynamic and fast paced arena, as long as there are mind shots, there needs to be mind stims. Players are not the only ones with this skill, NPCs can mind shot as well.

Im begining to think that those of you who think that mind stims are not needed havn't seen much battle.

I don't think that doctors should have mind enahnce or mind damage packs at all. If anything, I think that entertainers should be able to craft mind enhance packs and be allowed to use em...use em aseither A) a stimpack or B) an applicationpower up for their instrument or for the dancers, an edible thing so that when they dance/play, they increase a mind pool during their show.


For example a musician can equip a ENHANCE WILL pack totheir instrument that, like a ranged weapons powerup, expires in a certain amount of use...or that Dancersare allowed to equip a decaying ENHANCE FOCUS bracelet/anklet that while dancing, they ehnace one's focus. And like their ability to heal mind in groups, they should be able todo the same with that. But to be fair, only high level dancers can use enhancefocus and enhance mind whilehigh level musicians can only use enhance willandenhance mind packs.



You see what I'msaying? Leave mind to the entertainers, but reward them withbuffs though. We docs shouldn't be given mind buffs. That single handedly makesthe entertainers one shot short of pointless.



And naturally that'swhat Power gamers want.
