Thread: Terrain Negoation for docs
combat medics have terrain negoation how bout a +10 per level of the + to medicine use tree like in combat medicskill tree
combat medics have a +10 terrain + combat medicine use
why don't doctors have this it doesn't even have to go above 40 terrain negoation just 10 per level would be enough after all they are not combat medics they are docs they don't have to run as fast as combat meds
but this puts a serious damper on the res situation if we can't run out to res our friends because we have no terrain negoation then whats the point of having revive i mean how many people die in the med center on swg .......
yes yes this old chestnut
and i have no idea why it double posted must be my dial up going screwy
sorry about that maybe a forum mod can delete one of these topics
yep figures the forum would mess up on my post and make me look like an idiot.......

............... heh
"combat medics are for battle.. doctors are for hospitals. Thats just how it is."
I couldn't have put it better myself. Docs aren't meant for field work. Yeah, it's nice to have one around to revive. But, they aren't meant to fight. They aren't meant to be able to hold their own in a battle. I know there will be TONS of people who disagree with what I've said and what the person I quoted said. But, plain and simple...docs are meant to spend most of their time in hospitals and towns buffing, healing wounds, and curing poison and diease. Combat Medics are field medics. They are meant to be able to hold their own in a battle. They are meant to be able to keep up with the groups that they are healing/protecting/helping.
Hence the reason that Docs do not have the ability to heal mind or the ability to handle terrain well.

I play both combat medic and doctor, and i'm starting to wonder why revive is a doctor skill... i mean if doctors aren't "suppose" to be the one playing field doctor thats why we have combat medic, where do most ppl die? out of town, on a hunt etc? Thats the combat medics area surely?
Perfectly it be nice to have revive in both proffessions, have to be slightly different obviously.
I'm also fo the opinion that we should NOT get TN. Our profession does not push for triage field healing the way CM is built around doing. It's supposed to be harder for us to heal int he field, and easier for CMs. Emergency healing is what they do.
State Healing and Cures don't fall into the same category as revive, IMO. Reviving someone who has died...I find it odd that it is a doc skill and not a CM skill. I, also, have a char that is a Master Doc/Master CM. Docs definitely deserve to be able to make the best meds, heal wounds, cure disease, and cure poisoin. It makes sense that these are "in-hospital" things. But, reviving just doesn't fit right there. Someone could, in essense, drag someone's body all the way back to a doc to get revived, but with the time limits, it's near impossible. I really do think that revive belongs with the CM's.

Yep, I've always wondered this myself. This is in no way, shape or form a knock on docs (since I'm a Master Doc myself) but I've never seen anyone die in hospital or while they were being buffed and needed a revive. Quite frankly I'm not sure why Combat Medics get Wound treatment either if you want to follow the "combat medics mean in battle and Doctors mean before and after battles" in their roles (a nicer way of saying CM=field, Doc=hospital imo, lol)
I, too, will have to disagree with the original poster about TN. COmbat Medics got it because they were touted as being able to get to their group mates quickly to help heal them in battle. Docs, on the other hand, seem to be geared to before the battle (buffing) and/or after the battle (better wound treatment, rezzing, etc).
ya see...this is where most of you stray from what really happens in a war...
A doc doesnt sit inside a city in a hospital during a war (assuming they are involved in the war), They are normally in a field hospital which can be close to the battle. Normally the way it works is, Guy gets wounded, CM goes and tries to do the best they can to help, Then CM takes said wounded/dead person to the doc, who is just ouside the fight, to get taken care of. Granted in this game you would need more then one cm per battle...on each side.
At least thats how i have seen it done in every wwII remake...granted this is a bit different..
