Im not real good at the whole fanatical rallying of the troops but we honestly as a group should select a weekend where we refuse to heal anyones wounds but our own. I know the tipping thing has been beaten into the ground but id REALLY love if I could at least get the fact that every heal I put on someone costs me credits, and not 5 or 10 more like 20 or 30. Right now people are pretty much taking advantage of doctors and medics and leveling out of our pocket books. We have to do something to get this across. Ive tried just grouping with pa mates but there are times I just want to go hang somewhere but it sucks thatI have to "pay" to be in a group and no one wants to help reimburse me. my 2cents

Your heart is in the right place, but that's just not going to work Vargyr. I know I personally won't go on strike. All the groups I've been in have re-imbursed me. But then again, I tend to group with people I know.

Besides, if I waltz into a medical center and see people with wounds, I want that exp that's just going to waste. I'm not the only one that would do that. Not everyone reads/cares about the boards.

I know how you feel man. I make nothing from healing in the med center and make nothing in the field. The only reason I ever have any money at all is that I have a good guild with a strong bank. I have conspired with the medics in a town before though not to heal unless we were paid, and no one decided they wanted healing and hence they didn't get it. Better XP in the field anyways I suppose.

The simple fact of the matter is most people will not pay because we get XP from healing and therefore it is our 'job' to heal. In essence this is true but in reality we need credits to keep stocks up.

I would suggest that you strike a balance between making money and XP.

Make your XP with groups, if they have high HAM pets you can get XP so much quicker than you can in the medical centre.

Make your money in the medical centre this is supprisingly easy, just dont heal until after you have been paid. A weapon smith isn't going to hand over a DX2 without being paid, and likewise we should be paid before we heal. This is even easier now that we have the diagnose ability and can give quick and easy estimates, I base mine on a 1 wound 1 credit (rounded) basis.

You are crazy.. Why? here is why. Last night I went to Fort Tusken to work on my Swordsmen. A master doc was there for quite a while and so was I a master surgeon. I rezed about 10 people over all. I got tipped like crazy. I also buffed myself and for a while my stats were buffed at 500 action and 500 Health. I was a stinking tank for a while. I rounded up about 90k of swordsman xp. It was so cool to rez people when the group was all but dead.

I now can use enhance d's and have a buddy that says he can buff double that easily. Even when I'm not fighting it is cool as heck to heal up a group of melee players trapped in a room full of tuskens. I get some cheap thrill out of watching someone be almost 0 while the warlord is only at half and then boom they are full again. I then join the attack and blamo no more warlord.

It just plain rocks...

I get tips, I get thanks, I get the satisfaction of helping someone out and lessening his/her downtime significantly.

Doesn't sound so bad to me. /shrug

After last night I'm with you on this. Me, aboutthree boxes from master medic, and a slightly higher than novice doctor I know are healing in the med center. Someone comes in with completely black, all black health and action bars, maybe 1 or 2 points in each at most. It takes me with my B packs, and the Doc with a few B's and some C's (mostly beacuse we had suspicions that there would be a crappy tip, no sense in using all the good stuff up) took us a good five mintues of cooperative, constanthealing to fix this guy up.

He tipped me 100 credits and stiffed the Doc. Thats crazy, of course I gave the tip to the doc, he was out way more credits on it than I was with his C packs, but that was rediculous anyway.

I am all for a strike, but unfortunately there isn't anyway to get every person in the med center, let alone the city on my server to do it. I wish we could. We are very, very thankful of all the good tippers, but for every good tipper there is 5 that either tip low, low amounts or nothing at all.

BTW, the whole time we are healing him, he's discussing where he got all his wounds at, running missions on Endor, and how much he made off of them, it was somewhere in the neighborhood of 20k for the night, and he was planning on going back. Not surprisingly the Doc called it a night after that one, and I left shortly after. I like healing and I want to do it out of the goodness of my heart, but like everyone else, I'm going to either start charging up front, or abandon the med center.

For those trying to be a pure healer class the no tipping just plain bites. I do not care how any of you care to justify it "It bites" plain and simple. I am almost Master Medic and I am striving to be Master Doctor. I "NEVER" ask for a tip nor do I expect one (this way I am not disapointed), but that don't make it right! It just means I deal with it in my own way. It dose not hurt anyone to tip you a hundred or two for your service or even 30 hides or bones here and there. We spend a lot of time making up the wound packs to heal them as well as a lot of resources. As for you get XP when you heal? That don't cut it either because I do not play this game for XP I play it to role play and I am not healing for xp I am healing as a profession. (Rant Over)

Only way I have found to survive is to take low level 5 missions until I was able to get enough money to buy some harvesters. I have one wind, one mineral and the other is hmm can think of the name but it gathers berries and such, oh floral. The wind one cost me 1500 a day to run and the other two cost 750 a day each so 1500 and 1500 is 3k per day. I don't need power because the one windmill takes care of that for me. Now how do you make your 3k per day to keep them up and running. Well for a while I was doing missions (love it when I get 15 tells in a 5 min span telling me to come to the hospital to heal because people are waiting and I reply I am so very sorry but I am out doing some missions for local farmers in order to pay my bills. Once I am done and can afford to come back and heal every one you can bet I will be there.) Anyway the other way you can pay for this is to sell some of the resources you collect each day. You can under cut all of the money hungry people on the bazaar and sell yours very fast and still make the cash for your harvesters.

I want to end by saying that NOT everyone is a bad tipper. We have a few out there that are just plain wonderful tippers and I thank you very much! We also have a few out there that do not tip but role play a poor person very very well and to me thats even better than a tip (Having others to roleplay with just makes the game pure fun!).

Just my two cents - everyone has there own view.

I'm a doctor and not a rich one at that, I basicly live off tips. Best way I found to make money is to find a wounded patient and heal them for 200+ once. If they don't tip I start using crappy low lvl meds. No tips = no special treatment. I make average 15k a day doing this

I don't accept tips. I get paid for services rendered. In advance. With the diagnose command there's no real need to depend on after the fact payment. Unless you want to, of course.

As far as combat groups are concerned, you should have a fairly good idea (after a couple of excursions at any rate) what you can expect to burn up in medicine. Just charge the group that fee up front. Or only hunt with groups running missions. And if they start stopping at every #$@#@ baby they come across, bail and join a more productive group.
